I have had this vacuum cleaner for 4 years and since recently it stops after a minute and after that, it works for 15 secs and has to be started again and repeated. The Lithium battery is charging. Can it be repaired or is it the battery?

I’ve had this for a few years and works amazing. But after cleaning the head the other day, the spinning part now makes a really loud noise when in operation as if it’s not properly locked into position. I fear a part has gone missing during the cleaning process. How do I find out what’s going wrong?

Hello, my vacuum cleaner has stopped working all of the sudden after over 2 years of excellent usage. When I want to switch it on, it only works fir blink seconds and then red light keeps flashing and vacuum stops. The only time the vacuum has worked fir maybe a min the most was when I pressed on the switch brush clean at the vacuum head but then after a minute it switched itself off anyway with red light flashing. What could that be?

Becky M · Ultrapower

My vacuum seems to just have a steady red light on when “charging” but doesn’t charge at all. It was working perfectly 2 days ago. Is the battery faulty?

JEN
JEN

Hi Becky M. This sounds very similar to my experience. I left it for a few weeks thinking it may have been operator error, but no, it’s the product. I now own a Dyson (which is what I had wanted originally). Haven’t looked back, do yourself a favour and buy a good product!

I have Electrolux Ultrapowe ZB5012 would ZB5011 battery be compatible with that model? Because I am forced to replace battery pack and ZB5011 are only $100 verses $250. Thank you

Hi Vacvic I really don't know, our batteries had to be replaced by the 'Approved Repairer' so we never had to look at the battery model, sorry.

My vac was working fine. Now all of a sudden it doesn't. There is a red Centre light on. Either when on charge or off the charger. If I remove the battery this still happens. Any tips?

Have had no trouble with mine but have not used either (I bought 2) much. When looking at reviews before buying I found a few people with problems that were due to the charger. The only ones that seemed to get any help went directly to the manufacturer who replaced the faulty part.

i think Electrolux has released new model?

David J. Mallett
David J. Mallett

No not possible, the battery charger is "built into" the main circuitry, therefore cannot be replaced. Also the labor cost to replace the main circuitry would be higher then the value of a depreciated vacuum cleaner.

Jane

I am very happy to report that Narelle from Electrolux seems to have fixed my problem. She sent me a new battery charger and so far so good !!!! It is working very well this morning. In answer to David J Mallett, the battery charger is not built in, is actually a very small unit....so check it out, may fix your problem too. Narelle was extremely helpful, so many thanks to her...

Most problems are due to blocked filters and roller's people don't maintain their vacums, the battery problems are from incorrect user charging, and David J. Mallett don't know what your talking about there's no inherit battery issue it's a lithium battery the best type available for this task, all batteries wear down after a couple of years even the Dyson's which are way over priced and do nearly the same job, also David J. Mallett the charger is not built into the main circuitry it's the black square-ish thing you plug into the wall just like a phone(it ain't 1954). Oh people can be so wrong problems with the internet is that it's full of disinformation (opinion) not factual research. I'm a electrical engineer and software developer, my opinion of this product is it delivers outstandingly similar suction as an average plugin vacuum for up to 60 minutes, the Dyson delivers 20 minutes.

I'd say the battery has gone ..... Mine did the same thing ....... red light and no charging.

New battery pack and it's been great ever since ..... The batteries are a known issue. If it's within warranty period then get it replaced.

I did ring customer care and was given the number of an authorised service centre who advised me to buy a new vacuum cleaner as the cost of repair will be more than the cost of vacuum cleaner. My sincere advice to prospective customers is to go for other vacuum cleaners.

can not help you on this question as we took it into the service agent when we found that it was still under warranty. the whole unit was replaced and we not given any answers as to why. one must assume that for the unit to be replaced it was not the charger or battery that was at fault as they could easily be replaced. ring Electrolux and ask them. I found them easy to talk to and most helpful. james

Hi any owners of Electrolux ZB5011/5012

I have charging and working issues with my ZB5011 purchased 6months back. When I contacted the outsoursed repairer I was told this model is the one with max issues with them reaching a dead end with them replacing the recommended motor, board and other critical parts with no positive effect. They currently have 6 sitting on thier shelves unable to be repaired. Earlier I have been a big fan of the ergorapido, so much so I purchased one for my mother, neice, and inlaws. Even so when it came for replacement I upgraded to the more powerful ZB5011 without due research.

Would like to ascertain how many consumers like me are in the same situation with the ZB5011/5012?

We have 2x ZB5012 units. Both died - one around 18 months, and the other at 22 months. Both units replaced with brand new units. Cannot fault Electrolux service, but I am left wondering how much more service we will get from the replacement vacs!

Barry · Ultrapower ZB5012

Hi,

My wife is looking at buying an Electrolux stick vac (18V model). I am extremely concerned re the very disappointing reviews I see for these stick vacs.

What do I do ? The idea is good, but lots of buyers think they have wasted their money making a purchase of this type of vac.

Does anyone have any experience with the 25Volt model (ZB5012 I think).

Your advise would be greatly appreciated so I dont also waste our money.

How can Electrolux continue to sell these vacs if they are good only for the warranty period.

Hopefully they will see my comments/questions, and come up with a statement for all of us.

Very disappointing quality so far it would seem Mister Electrolux !!!!!!!!!!

Barry.

John
John

We had an ergorapido before and it was convenient but not powerful and poor battery life. The ultrapower is a far superior design. I use it everyday and I can't really fault it except it is no fun to empty.

Hi Celest, Thank you for the opportunity to gain further information on the stick vac model that might be appropriate for my wife and I. I assume Electrolux accept the feedback from those who have concerns with their Ergorapido vac, and have addressed these issues.

I would not purchase this model based on the numerous negative reviews, and the comment from a Eletrolux retailer, who told us NOT to buy one.

Can you please assure us that we would not be disapppointed with the performance nor longevity of the more powerful ZB5012 model .

Thank you, Barry

PS, Can you please make comment re the above concern about emptying the the ZB5012.

I have been following the blogs to the questions and the conspicuous response from Electrolux. I was thinking about buying a ZB 5012 and decided to in view of the difficulty [name removed] was having I decided to check the price of a spare battery before I bought - I was shocked when an electrolux service agent told me $212.00!!! . The Electrolux website has the battery at $196.00 recommended retail but you have to deal through a service agent - a bit of a rip off and would influence most decisions to buy! Unfortunately most people don't think of these things until too late!
