Great suction! – Our Electrolux Ultraflex vacuum cleaner has performed extremely well after a couple years of ownership. We purchased this as a replacement for a Dyson DC54. The sales representative seemed impartial and suggested we go for the Electrolux for better performance & price in lieu of Dyson. After a few uses, it was very clear that the suction of the… Read more

Electrolux was better than the old Dyson. After regular use, i can say that the electrolux is very maneuverable and practical to use. We have multiple floor surfaces in our house (tile, timber and carpet) and the Electrolux does well on all surfaces. It is important to use the correct head, but most of the time, i use the slimline head as it gets under some furniture and is a good allrounder. The powerhead works really well to pick up hair and other items that often gets stuck into carpet. Our young children have no issue using this vacuum and maneuvering it around corners and tight spaces around the house, so that's a big plus! Another positive, is that the power cable is quite long for that extra reach and retracts very well each time. The filters work very well as i dont notice dusty air while vacuuming. Compared to my old Nilfisk barrell and Dyson DC54, the filtration on the Electrolux flex seems to perform better in my opinion. The main filter can be washed which is handy as you dont have to buy replacements. The machine has 5 power levels , of which we use the max power most of the time. The only time I reduce the power level is to vacuum sensitive areas around my desk & computer , which is very convenient, so you dont suck up things unnecessarily. The noise level is fair for a vacuum cleaner. I highly recommend the Electrolux Flex vacuum - great price & performance.

Great Vacuum Cleaner, turbo head removes all pet hair – This cleaner is ideal on hard floors and the turbo head is perfect for the carpets, has great suction when the filters are not blocked. the cord is quite long, so you can use it within a 30mtr radius, it's light to carry around easy clean canister and the filters are cost efficient. The only down turn is the turbo head is a bit hard to get the… Read more

hair out, just needs to be an adjustable brush remover. Had this cleaner for over 4 years and love it. I have a Golden Retriever and a Cat so there is a lot of fur loss and this cleaner does it's job perfectly

Light to use - 12m cord - 2 heads – I borrowed this vac from daughter & found it did a good job on carpet, tiles and wood floor and window tracks. I have a bad right shoulder so found the head a bit difficult to take off - no trouble for able bodies. Daughter used it to vac my mattress. I loved the 12m cord and ease of getting under the lounge without having to move heavy furniture. Very impressed. One would need adequate storage space. Show details

So disappointing – Being an 'Animal Allergy Pro' I expect this vacuum to be very efficient in picking up pet hair but this is not the case. When using the vacuum Dog hair keeps building up around the conical filter Hair comes up out of the dust bin and sits at the dust bin opening (the dust bin is not full) The turbo head only works on very low pile carpet The… Read more

filter smells even after being rinsed and dried after each use as well as replaced every few months

Electrolux tell me this is all normal and part of customer maintenance, they were very unhelpful.

Great Vaccuum Cleaner for 1 shedding dog & 2 cats – After having Dyson vaccuum cleaners for years, we opted this & it has been great. The suction is great, all pieces are easy to remove & substitute heads clip in easily. It is easy to empty & easy to store away. My kids can even pull it out and use it. Re other comments about washing filters - our previous Dyson (similar style to the Electrolux)… Read more

blew up while I was using it - scary. I visited Dyson's service centre in Brisbane who explained the filters must be washed regularly because Brisbane is very dusty, particularly in old Queenslanders.

After 3.5 yrs, I've only bought a replacement filter for the Electrolux once. I wash the filters every 2nd time I use it. It is no big deal. We have a big 2 storey house with a dog that sheds a lot of hair .

Not happy – After having my Electrolux ZUH4205AF for just over 24 months, it has decided to lose suction and over heats, therefor turning itself off. I was impressed early on, I even recommended to my mother for her to purchase one, now I am unable to find the length of the warranty on the Electrolux website. $449 not very well spent....  Show details

Will never buy again – Worst vacuum ever. Within one month I had to request a new head as it broke. Electrolux replaced it, no problem there. New head worked for a couple of months and same problem. I paid $400 and it has been sitting in the cupboard because I couldn't handle the stress it caused. Husband just tried vacuuming and lost his patience hence this review after so long.  Show details

Perfect – I bought this to vacuum two carpeted area and one wooden area and it works really well on all the floors, the suction is very strong, even too strong for the wooden floor. find myself with a short handle, it does not seem to stick but as this only happens every now and again I am not worried. The electrical cord is very long which is fabulous as I don't have to keep unplugging it and the filters can be washed, which is part of the reason I bought this vacuum.

Excellent – Excellent cleaner. The amount of stuff it picks up using the turbo head is just amazing. After my house cleaner finished using his back mounted cleaner I used our new cleaner and had to empty it 4 times. It picks up so much stuff. Only annoying thing is removing the hair from the turbo head. Have to use scissors but I guess there is no way to remove the hair otherwise as it wraps up the bristles.  Show details

The best suck of my life – There are a lot of cats in this household, so our rooms tend to get a little dirty. We needed a vacuum that could handle the mess that our furry ladies leave behind. I was left very satisfied as with electrolux's amazing sucking power. The wand is a joy to handle, and the length of the cord and the size and flexibility of the head means can get into all our tight spaces. It makes sucking cat fur a pleasure.  Show details

Poor design and weak components – I have one of these, and it worked brilliantly for two vacuums. The pet hair was gone, I was happy, my son was happy. Then I managed to suck up a 5 cent piece and the turbo head stopped working. Being the guy I am I opened it to find that the turbine that spins the brush had been destroyed - BY A SINGLE COIN. I went to good guys and explained to them and they wouldn't accept a warranty. This turbo head is not fit for purpose  Show details

So good! Excellent for pet hair – Turbo brush is great for extracting pet hair (long hair cat). Just replaced a 10 year old vacuum cleaner with this, very happy. Bagless, easy to empty. Easy to adjust. Can't believe how much this vac picked up on first clean. Just check it has all the attachment brushes you need.  Show details

OMG this is it! – I have varying floor finishes as well as dogs. The most striking features are; 5 suction settings, light weight to move , 5 different heads for all jobs, the turbo head for short pile carpet is exceptional, very easy to empty the barrel, relatively quiet, and very comparable on price.  Show details

Ridiculously grunty (& surprisingly quiet) – It is ridiculously grunty (& surprisingly quiet). I cannot believe how much dirt it is capable of sucking out of my carpet. I thought I'd done a good job the first time. Nope - it still finds more dirt. I suspect it is sucking up dirt through the carpet, through the floorboards, up from the ground under the house.  Show details

How did I manage without this for so long? – I'd been struggling with a Volta cyclonic vacuum for about four years when I saw this model on sale, test drove it in the store and brought one home. Why didn't I do this sooner? It's light and easy to maneuver and ultra quiet, which is important when you have highly-strung animals. Beats my DYSONs without a doubt – I LOVE this vacuum. I bought it last year at a silent auction and WOW. I've owned Dysons since 2002 and have always had problems with them: too loud, wires break, won't run after one year, and the hand-held battery charged ones keep breaking down, uprights don't last long or motors burn out after less than one year. This electrolux beats the… Read more

Dysons hands down. Not joking. When I turned it on for the first time I was blown away by the suction. I did a test: I vacuumed with my Dyson after changing the filters and the dust canister had a bit of fluff in it, but when I vacuumed with the Electrolux the dust canister filled to half way within 2 minutes. Dyson vacuums are not worth the money and I've had a few. Trust me. The Electrolux is quieter too. Just remember to wash the filter regularly and you're all good. I have a new favourite :)

Great suction, light and easy to use – My husband bought this as a second vacuum as we have a large home with lots of floor space. I was sceptical at first as I hate bagless vacuums and I have a miele which has never let me down. Well this one is great as well. Great suction, easy to manoeuvre and easy to empty. from hard floor to carpet. so I rang the hotline and they shipped out a new one overnight shipping.

I still like my miele for getting close to the edges and if I accidently sucked up a tissue with that one it would still go strong whereas the cyclone in the electrolux makes anything like that get stuck on the cone at the top.

Best Hoover I've ever had – I've never bought this brand of vacuum cleaner before so it's a completely new experience! My Dyson recently died and I did a search here to help me decide on the best after Dyson as the budget didn't stretch that far. This is a powerful machine, great suction even on the lower power. Good for both carpet and hard flooring. Great for picking up… Read more

all dog hair. I couldn't believe the hair and dust that came off the carpets! The lead is extra long which is great as there aren't a lot of power points in the house so I was able to do most of the house without having to unplug. This vacuum cleaner definitely gives Dyson a run for their money - it's a lot more reasonably priced and it does the same job. The machine is light and the handle is great, it's exactly like the Dyson handle which is easily lengthened and shortened depending on how you like it. I would have no hesitation in recommending this vacuum cleaner.

just a regular vaccuum cleaner – This vacuum cleaner was provided by Electrolux as a replacement when they were unable to fix my faulty (now discontinued) Electrolux Ultraperformer ZUP3862P when it broke down under warranty. I just received it today so this review is my first impression. First, it seems a bit light and flimsy (more so than the old one anyway). Second, be aware… Read more

the so called 'turbo head' is not motorised - the brush in this floor tool just spins around with the airflow. As this cleaner was supposedly the equivalent new model replacing my old one, which did have a motorised head, I had thought the 'turbo head' would be motorised. The suction is excellent - but you will get a workout pushing it over carpets unless you turn down the suction - which somewhat defeats the purpose! If this model is the new equivalent of my old one, then the level of features Electrolux is including in their cleaners has declined. It comes with lots of attachments but they are all basic and similar to each other. Still, hopefully this one will work for more than the 18 months I got out of the old one (see my review of the Electrolux Ultraperformer ZUP3862P if you want to know more about my experience dealing with Electrolux for warranty repairs).

Amazing – We were trying to decide between this and the Dyson. This is so much lighter and easier to pull along, it's quiet, the cord is longer, and it's cheaper than the Dyson. I am impressed! – Pros. I am very happy with the performance of this machine. The suction is fantastic. Even the hard floor tool gets in close to the corners. Comfortable handle. Easy to empty. Quality parts. Picked up so much dust in the first clean which proved that my previous vacuum cleaner was useless. Cons: as it is an animal allergy model it should come with the pet upholstery nozzle. Overall best vacuum I've ever used!

vacuum

Easy to Clean Filters, and Empty the dust canister.

Flex pro nozzle is great for reaching under beds and low furniture. No more shifting furniture.

Excellent telescopic tube height adjustability, Long Power cord

Cons:

Always starts on Max Power settings. It would be better if it started on last setting. Annoying when changing from power point to power point and you want to keep same setting.

Where the hose handle or telescopic tube attaches to the accessories, it does not form an internal flush joint. The result is that when you remove the accessory, dust that collects on the lip of the hose handle or telescopic tube falls on the floor. Keeping the vacuum running when changing accessories avoids this.

Very Long Hair gets trapped around the cyclonic chamber filter which then collects dust around that area preventing it from going in the chamber and further blocking the cyclonic filter. Easy to clean and remove the hair but can be very messy depending on dirt build up. This I my first cyclonic vacuum so this may be a typical result of the cyclonic action.

Foam filter gets dirty quickly. Vendor claims clean/wash foam filter every three months. We vacuum twice a week and find filter needs to be washed every two weeks or performance drops significantly.

Overall best vacuum owned to date with some minor annoying faults that prevents me from giving it a 5 star rating. Not sure that I would go bag-less for my next vacuum as lots of maintenance required to keep it in top performance.

model as it came with the turbo head, but it actually doesn't need it - I kid you not! The little accessory 3 in 1 tool is fabulous too. Very clever design. It works brilliantly on both hard & carpet floors. We have rabbits inside & they leave a lot of hay around their cage. This vacuum picks it all up - no blockages at all!
