Fisher & Paykel DH8060 Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi Fisher & Paykel front loader washing machine wh 8060 j3 and fisher and paykel heat pump Drayer dh8060 P1 and both power filter capacitor same or difference
Our dryer is 6 months old. We used to empty the water from the condenser drawer after each load, but lately it’s been empty. Should we be worried?
The water that’s extracted from the wet washing either ends up in the condenser drawer or drains out the pipe and down the drain.
Getting "Lo" message when I hit start on any setting. It is no longer fixed by turning power off and on. Both lint catchers clean and water catching bucket empty. Purchased April 2020. What does "Lo" mean and how do I fix it? Not referenced in owners manual or on line assistance
All reviews for this product seem excellent so only one question. I have a very small space to put my dryer. Can this dryer be mounted on the wall?
I believe most heat-pump dryers are too heavy for traditional wall mounting with brackets. However some you can stack with a washer if you have the compatible units. I would avoid this machine at all costs though. There are better, more modern dryers on the market now which are much better.
thankyou
Does this model have the auto sensor as well
My heatpump dryer is very nosey, and its only 1 year old. what would this be please
Very disappointed with the sheet drying selection. I called out a technician after 12months as the drum was not always reversing so the sheets ended up in a tight bundle, I had to stop the dryer & unravel. After the technician replaced a part he said if it didn’t work again to put towels in with the sheets. Not done that & don’t use the dryer to dry sheets & that was the main reason I purchased this dryer.
I use the ordinary or heavy settings for towels and sheets. The washing takes a whole day otherwise. The towels alone take several hours; and the sheets have the problems you describe AND take hours. I too am super-disappointed in my drier. For me, about to replace my kitchen appliances, and a formerly loyal F & P customer, their brand is now verboten for any future purchases.
It is woeful at drying sheets and towels. I knew heat pumps take longer but taking 12 hours to do a set of king sheets it crazy, or if you’re not there to untangle them they wouldn’t dry at all. The settings on the dryer don’t change anything. Useless POS if you ask me. Worth $1500? Never
How much is a new heat pump, for this dryer model number please DH8060P1
My machine has just started making a horrible loud notice when on. It still works fine, but I need to close the door to laundry just for some peace. It is about 21 months old. Any ideas?
What is the matching washer for this dryer? FP customer service are horrendous. Not only do they have no clue what they are doing but think this is a technical matter. Seriously no one in technical support even answers calls.
It’s the Washsmart WH8560P2. I detest F&P and will never ever use them again. They also don’t answer my emails as my bedding still getting tied in knots.
Does the dryer stop automatically when it been set on everyday cycle? I did an everyday cycle and towel cycle, both were still going after 2-3 hours. I had to manually stop the dryer and find out that all the clothes and towels are already completely dry. But why the dryer does not stop itself even when all the contents are totally dry? we talking about going on long long time.
you might find that you've got the 'wrinkle free' button on. It is basically giving everything a shuffle to make sure nothing settles and creases. If this button is in the 'on' position, turn it off and you should find it fixes your issue. The button is next to the Dry Temp buttons.
Yes mine does. It’s it the best dryer I’ve had but need to learn the cycles properly.

We bought a new Fisher & Paykel washing machine 20 years ago. We had 3 power boards replaced while under warranty (within 3 years) the 4th time the power board needed replacing when it was out of warranty we bought a new washing machine. At the time we were told Fisher & Paykel washing machines do not suit a humid/tropical environment such as Cairns where we live. Has Fisher & Paykel's technology changed in the last 20 years to make them more resilient/suitable to a tropical environment? I have just purchased Model *WH7560J3 but hasn't been picked up yet so most probably would get a credit towards a different washing machine. Any feedback is welcome!!
Cheers Meg
If you use a softener do the clothes come out with its sent as my Miele took away the smell?
Dryer was working fine and all of a sudden it would not dry clothes.Replaced heater, thermostat and heater sensor with new parts.Still won't dry clothes tumbler does turn,Called fisher and paykel technician would not speak to me as I am not qualified technician although I do have some knowledge in this field.was informed to look up U-tube of how to repair this machine but since it has been deleted. Now power button is on ,live current transmitted to heater,However when pressing start button power is dead from motherboard to heater.Tumbler still works fine. There's a short circuit somewhere which restricting heater from starting. This machine only has one thermostat and three sensors.I'm thinking of by-passing the humidity sensor.Thank you, waiting for reply.
A heat pump dryer with a heater - I don't thnk so.
Brand new dryer constantly reports H2O error and tank full. It has done 3 loads in its life. There is no water in tray, or puddle under dryer. Water tank firmly seated. I have checked hose for kinks (none), done a factory reset to no avail. No lint in trays. The hose did not drip at all when I pulled it off spigot, which I thought was odd. Where's the water draining to? I'll contact F&P but for an expensive dryer, this shouldn't be a thing.
Has anyone had this issue? Is it something I can fix?
Did you get an answer to this? I have the same problem.
Same here
The water tray didn’t work out so we used the water hose and allow it to drain into the sink. No error issues since and the thing is a beast. Its used multiple times a week. It’s a lot of money so everything should just work.
can anyone tell me the difference between the F&P DH8060P1 & DH8060P2 condenser dryers. D
No DH8060P2 but DE8060P2 is condenser dryer, not heat pump.
Hi everyone,
Due to limitation, I do not want to install the drain hose. I understand I need to empty the container every time it finishes. However, any chance (rare or often) I need to empty the container when I run a maximum load (i.e. 8kg)?
Empty it at the end is not a problem, but having to do it in the middle every time is a big hassle.
Thanks in advance.
higher spin speed on wash to remove excess water.
Warning: overloading (heavy) items will damage bearings - not cheap.
reduce number of items if heavy.
My question is if I empty the container at the end of every cycle, how likely do I need to empty it in the middle of the wash? Is an empty container BIG enough to go through a full load of cycle?
I find I only ever have to empty it after the load is dry, even if it's a big load. It's a lot of water but I've never had my machine stop half way through. I always make sure the water tank is empty and filter is cleaned before I turn dryer on.
Is it possible to wall mount this machine using Zenith wall mount kit from Bunnings?
No.
The manual specifies that it is not to be mounted. As to whether it's physically possible that's another story
thanks
It's not meant to be mounted, so I am not sure about a kit, possibly?
Not recommended. It is a lot heavier than most dryers and with the vibration from operating would eventually pull fastenings out of the wall. Can sit on a shelf or a front load washing machine with a suitable mat to dampen/ prevent vibrations from washer and dryer.
Hello, does this spin in both directions?
Yes it does
Yes, but infrequently. I suspect the reason that it reverses direction infrequently is that it uses energy to stop and change direction. In this section of the market, where they are trying to score 7 star energy rating, they can't meet 7 stars if they stop and change direction then restart. A result of this, as MANY people have mentioned, is that sheets just tumble into a tight ball, and never dry. I am stunned as F&P dryers have been in my family for years and were awesome. A dryer that has a 7 star energy rating (for clothes obviously) that just balls up sheets and never dries them, is a farce in my opinion. Not sure if all heat pump dryers have the same issue, but I suspect they might..
What is the best cycle to use to get the clothes to come out hot so I can fold the creases away? Bought this yesterday and tried several but they come out dry but not hot.
I tried this the other day. You can turn to "timed dry" and maybe set the time to 30 mins and it comes out hot. Try it.
