Do not use this company!! No communication, incredibly shoddy workmanship. A four day job at the cost of $16,000 is still ongoing after 4 months. Layers are totally incompetent and have never done a full days work. When they do turn up it’s for two… Read more
hours. Even their manager at Cranbourne admitted it’s the worst job he had ever seen. Have had an inspection by another company and they agree. Layers have tried to rectify some of the areas four times and they are still not right. Still waiting for faults to be rectified and competed. I’m considering VCAT and other options.

This is their idea of fixing a floor that they laid and won’t allow me to load video of all the sharp corners left from their skirting that they installed, terrible service and would not recommend them unless you want to be ripped off

Our kids are living with hazard floors as this company won’t take accountability. owner [Name Removed] and the internal management team especially [Name Removed]. We had flooring completed in 2020, during the installation the installer burnt our carpet in two rooms, used a grinder to cut our skirtings and tiles in the bathroom/ toilet to allow room for install. The carpet was fixed through the store however fast forward to 2021 the flooring in the dining and living room was lifting. This was reported to the Keilor floor which the installer came out and tried to fix the issue by using a liquid to flatten the boards again and using our concrete blocks to harden this (image attached).
Yet again end of 2021, the flooring has risen more and more along with the flooring moving in the kitchen which then showed a short board, this was reported yet again. The store sent out the installer again and the supplier to have a look at the issue which the supplier advised that there was two areas in the entire house that had some caulking completed. Following this information, the Keilor store communicated to us that this was due to us caulking the flooring and now waived the flooring works. We provided multiple images, information and videos to the owner to show that this was done day of installation by the installer. He continued to advise that this was our fault, that we do not caulk hybrid flooring to allow for natural movement and expansion. This we understood as my partner and I are both in the construction industry yet the store owner spoke to us like we have no idea.
From early Feb 2022, we had sent an email to the head office of flooring extra, until recently April we finally had received a response from head office which advised the store owner advised that the flooring is waived as we did not complete the caulking through them. However on multiple Occassions we have been advised this is not the case at all. Our email has been dismissed by head office not only on the workmanship but also on how the store owner “who is individually owned franchise” treated us as clients.
We have requested higher management to be involved now as it seems no one cares about our issue we have. We have two small children and the flooring is becoming a hazard to them.
I’ve never ever placed a bad review for any service I have had before even if it wasn’t the best however due to the lack of accountability, communication and dismissal from the head office we are so fed up. We will not let this go at all and will keep spreading the word of the bad customer service and workmanship from this company, franchise.

installation job by their installers was "terrible" and pointed out multiple issues, before saying he wasn't going to do anything about it unless we paid for it to be reinstalled. He also added it wouldn't be a warranty claim as their installers hadn't installed it to the manufacturer's specification. We've made multiple attempts to re-engage with the manager and have attempted to escalate this by emailing their customer support email address but all attempts have been ignored and we will most likely need to pay for another company to rip it up and start again. After the stress this has put on our family, both emotionally and financially, we won't be using this company ever again and will be sharing this experience with anyone that is considering buying flooring.

Don’t waste your money or time. Ongoing bad experience – Purchased our Hybrid Flooring from Bayside Flooring Xtra, Victoria Point QLD. Unknown to us they quoted one product and invoiced another product turns out we don’t actually know what product was laid, but it is falling apart and held together with sticky tape in areas. They have sent 3 groups of floor layers to inspect and all say that it needs to be replaced. They then sent the manufacturer of the Invoiced product out who walked in the door and stated straight away that it was not their product. We are getting nowhere as head office keeps fobbing us off stating it was a Flooring Xtra Franchise (we were not aware of this) but that shouldn’t make a difference. We find it strange that only one person in the whole of Flooring Xtra knows anything about our case (not even the manager of the Company). Very frustrated at this point and will have no option but to take this matter to outside of Flooring Xtra to try and get our flooring replaced.

Why would a company escalate conflict so aggressively?? Would it possibly be to retain thousands of dollars of customer funds??

Very poor after care indeed from Flooring Xtra – Update: it has now been 2.2 years and the flooring is wearing very badly. The joins have buckled, not just in one place but in all different rooms. warranty. They didn't answer, I had to follow up to get an answer and the answer is it is not covered under warranty and they won't fix it. Can't believe I paid nearly $18,000 for this level of service :(. Not recommended at all. Flooring is also very loud, wish I had stuck to carpet. Very poor after care indeed from Flooring Xtra. Update: flooring xtra did finally give me a piece of scotia which I had to pick up and then replace myself. It is not an exact match but close.

Terrible customer service – The customer service my elderly mother has received has been appalling. Advised they could fit her in on a 2 day job in which they delayed and ended up being a weeks worth of work. She had to move out of the house in which she was not advised of. Then when managed to get hold of them they advised they couldn't come for 2 weeks. After much discussion agreed to come the next evening. Again no show and no phone call. (say their car broke down, convenient seeing it is the Friday before they close down for 2 weeks) Now they can't come until after xmas. Great xmas when you have family flying in from interstate when all of your furniture is still in disarray. The only good part of this were the contractors that laid the floor as their work was exceptional.

My worst experience dealing ever – They employed cowboys who ripped up our skirting when they weren't supposed to. Damaged our walls. Said they would take a couple of days but it took months to fix up the original work. I needed to organise a painter to repaint the whole unit and fix the damage. They paid for the painter but did not compensate for not being able to inhabit the unit for two months. Don't go there (Burleigh) you've been warned Show details

1 year on - still dealing with installer issues – Had hybrid flooring installed back in June last year (2021), they removed tiles and carpet and put levelling agent down. Next day installers came out and laid all the flooring looked great and was happy. Over the coming months the kitchen boards started moving a lot. They would need to be kicked back in. and bow. Contacted Pakenham store and because we only sent "one" photo it wasn't a "serious" issue. Finally my husband got him out and he saw the severity of the damage. Boards were starting to move all about the place, this was now July 2022. Finally the company who makes the boards comes out August 2022. States it was installer error and glued down boards to stop them from moving! Now October, we find out the original salesman has moved on from Pakenham and been told all these excuses why it hasn't been rectified. We have boards that are warped, bowed and chipping. It's embarrassing to look at and horrible to think of the nearly 10k we spent on this disgraceful job.
I now have no choice but to contact ACCC to get involved, and will not hesitate to seek legal advice if this is not sorted ASAP.

Very friendly in the showroom, measure in house ok & advised that floor would need to be levelled and then sent quote through. Installers came and then the store rang and advised need to pay additional amount for floor to be levelled and wouldn't allow installers to commence until written authorisation had been received. few weeks before. In invoice, it was clearly mentioned the details of products. Because of the mistakes from Flooring Xtra, we have to pay the flooring person compensation for his full day’s work and also we missed the timelines from builder who have allowed us to install the flooring.
The options given to us was either go for a refund as it’s not viable for them to sell at the contract price (excuse is Covid and supply chain issue) which we have paid for or wait till the stock is available. They told us it may be by next Friday, they can provide the stock. But we don’t trust them anymore. We have requested to give us the full amount paid. Not sure what will happen.
I will never recommend this company to anyone.

edges and hacked at our door frames leaving a 5mm gap at the bottom. There were also other gaps in the edges that look terrible. The joiners that were put in between the carpet and flooring are all loose and not stuck down properly. They splashed the levelling compound all up the walls and on the doors causing us to have to replace window surrounds and pay to get them repainted. Very bad quality and poor communication. There are plenty of other flooring companies out there. Do yourself a favour and avoid these guys.

I would definitely recommend Flooring Xtra in the Sunshine Coast (Birtinya) to anyone looking for new flooring. We went with Hybrid Flooring as we have a young child and a pet cat, so we wanted something that had durability, longevity, easy maintenance, quality and a beautiful colour to suit our existing colour scheme in our home.
