My GHD Platinum+ suddenly flashes red & beeps every so often. After reading all the comments on this site, I see this has been an issue for 10 years, yet they are still being sold. I have had mine for about 2 or 3 years now. Extremely disappointed they cannot be repaired. I paid a lot of money for them in New Zealand. Why is GHD continuing to sell a faulty product?

After reading the above comments why is this happening to so many customers, with no resposability being taken from ghd

Yup same problem ghd platinum plus flashing red and nothing and to top it of Christmas present less then 3 years ago and the web site says the warranty is out and gave my old ghd gold away...so shouldnt have but now realistically ghd gold,platinum plus and now $$ for new 1s jeepers are there eny other good brand hair straighteners pretty disappointed with the dodgy platinums..... ticking time bomb with no explosion.

Hi, I have had my black GHD Platinum + for about 5 years, I have always taken good care of it, as it's not cheaper, then all of a sudden, when I used it last week (24/4/2024), just like the previously comments left recently I turned it on and was getting a red flashing beeping light around the power button, can this be repaired or replaced?, my Original gold GHD lasted longer than this one.

My ghd platinum heats up, and turns off but the sound that it makes when I power on/off does not sound off. Why?

Hello, my Ghd straighter has done exactly the same as all the previous comments above. Turns on and after 1 minute or less starts flashing red then won’t heat up. I have tried calling the Australian number and says they are training. How else do I get in contact with Ghd? If someone could contact me that would be great.

My partners Ghd platinum+ are bleeding and flashing red. She has followed the instructions but still bleeding and flashing. Please help me with a answer or what can be done

Hi my ghds are not working had them 3 years but hardly use them( just weekends looked after them well even still got box, the red light go on then when you push button makes a whizzing sound?? Gutted as I love them

I am having the same issue as everyone above. My less than 3 years old Platinum plus GHD straightener worth 395 AUD has broken and flashing red after wanting up one side. Never dropped and always kept in hard case. My old ghd pink limited edition ones lasted 10 years before dying! Simply they have made these cheaper and they don't last but they are more expensive! I want my replaced. This is not fair. I have tried to call the Australian number but it's not open it says they are training! So how can I get in contact with anyone. Hi my GHD Platinum have just stopped working. Beeping and flashing red light. I’m getting ready for a night out. Can this be fixed? They are out of warranty.

I’ve had my ghd platinum straightener for a couple years now, always taken care of and used maybe once a month. Today it has started beeping and flashing red. I’ve read that this is a known fault on this thread, if ghd can’t fix it has anybody had any shop or someone who can fix it? Or recommend another brand of straightener you love?

My platinum straighteners have developed exactly the problem others have described here and the official website says they are out of warranty and can’t be returned without proof of purchase. This is just not what you would expect from a global brand with loyal followers. Why has this product not been recalled given its shelf life is so limited? The cost of these should give gears of daily use. I am stuck with broken straighteners and no choice but to invest in another pair, so frustrated and frizzy right now I can’t tell you..

What is the procedure for getting my GHD platinum straighteners fixed? I also have the same issue of when I switch them on it automatically flashes red and does a double beep sound. I’m extremely disappointed if this is a known product fault issue as I expect a well known brand such as GHD would stand for no less than excellence. I have had the straighteners for afew years now but I wouldn’t expect them to be “worn out” by now.

Hello I have this same issue Im not sure how long Ive had my Platimum straightners, a couple of years maybe. Really disappointed as my last GHDs last about 10 years. Is there anything I can do? I dont have a proof of purchase I dont think.

My ghd is beeping and blinking red it heats up . Any one know what this could mean ?
