quite speedily. Our Building Supervisor was really "on the ball", along with everyone at the office. We have been in our home for over 2 months now, and given that we've now completed most of the "extra" stuff, we couldn't be happier with the result. That said, we would suggest that it would have been good to have been given the option for GJ Gardner to complete, as part of the build, some of these "extras", such as Landscaping & Fencing, Solar Panels, Insect/Security screens and Curtains & Blinds. Obviously, these things would impact the end price, but if the buyer could pick and choose what to include (and what not), it could potentially make the period after handover so much smoother. But, even without those options, we happily and sincerely recommend GJ Gardner (Northern Gold Coast) to anyone thinking of building.

place so there weren't going to be any variations on the design. I really highly recommend that potential home owners also consider a 1 to 1 life-size plan walkthrough ('Life-size Plans' based near Brisbane Airport) as working drawings have limitations. It's were they project the full size home onto the ground using projectors. We made slight room size changes based on this experience which is much cheaper then halfway through the build. Next we worked closely with Buddy and Beau and we worked through each of the stages. The construction started in April and handover was on 4 December 2025. We couldn’t be happier with our home and highly recommend GJ Gardner Homes Northern Gold Coast to anyone looking for a stress-free build with exceptional results. Aaron Bennett was so easy to deal with from the beginning to the meeting of you Buddy. Aaron even called me the other day to congratulate us on having the house finished which was so nice to see.

Buddy, you were incredible! For a franchisee owner, the stories I’ve heard from other people on the owners, it’s like they don’t care and you were always there when we needed you. I could call you whilst on holidays (which you should stop BTW haha), when I know you need a break. You were more involved than I thought you would be & we’re grateful for that. Even getting the contract ready before our settlement date whilst you were on holidays was amazing!!

Tessa Chandler was absolutely INCREDIBLE! There was never a question or email she didn’t help with. Even after I said sorry for annoying her with all my stpid questions lol she reassured me that nothing was stpid & helped me every time I needed it. She never let me wait for a reply & was always so thorough & precise. This woman needs a raise ASAP. She is worth more than any money you could give her. To be so available throughout a process that costs the customers a lot of money is reassuring & calming!

Kim Bevan was amazing! Her eye for design & colour choices were unmatched! So knew exactly what would work & with what. She helped us choose the perfect colours that would help elevate our home. And whenever I show photos of our house, the very first thing anyone says is our colours are beautiful & stunning. We couldn’t have gotten that without Kim. She helped us achieve a look we struggled to explain with words. And thank you for all the receipts she sent too.

Aaron Meyer was freaking awesome! His attention to detail & walk throughs we had was great! There was never a question too hard or over the top that he didn’t have an answer for. He always kept in contact & I loved the updates we got including all the pictures he sent. He was an amazing supervisor & always kept the trades in line with getting the tasks completed. Too bad some losers stole our aircon unit! Aaron had it sorted so quickly we didn’t even notice any delay. He was so easy to deal with & we never felt overwhelmed or stressed with him.

Lastly, as you can tell I speak so very very highly of you and your team. They are all nothing short of amazing! Whenever anyone asks who we built with I don’t just say GJ Gardner. I say the absolute best team I have ever ever dealt with. As you can tell, this is the first time me & my husband have done this. So everything about this entire process was new to us & in stressful territory. I’ve heard the horror stories of other builders & was so worried that I would get that same treatment but we didn’t. If anything we got a team that was so incredible, I can’t fault them at all. There is not 1 issue I can even raise cause every single 1 of you went above & beyond for myself & Luke through every step of this process. We are so grateful & absolutely in love with our new home! We are so lucky we built with GJ Northern Gold Coast cause this entire process so so seamless, it doesn’t even feel like we went through it. There was no stress, worry & nothing felt overwhelming. Not to mention the entire build was done in 5 MONTHS! That timeframe is amazing! It went so quickly!

Coast (Helensvale) are professional and considerate of our needs. The building supervisor, Beau, kept the build on target for completion and us informed with great communication. The office support, Kim, build supervisor Beau and franchise owner, Buddy answered all our questions and worked towards positive solutions when issues came up.

In instances where we overlooked aspects of the plan, such as the way a door opened, or where a tap fitting was not working out for us, the team assisted with solutions and in some cases met us half way or more than half way.

We were met with the electrician to discuss how we wanted our lighting and added extra options. We met with the fencer and arrange a second gate. We met with the building supervisor at each stage and overall are very pleased with the end result.

In hindsight, budget allowing, and for anyone else considering building, we would have extended the wall right down the right side of the house to make the lounge, on suite, master bedroom and media room bigger. Looked at the plans more closely, made less assumptions and asked more questions, put in shelves in the wardrobes and a few other extras such as larger bathroom cupboards with draws - all after thoughts - which are on us and would prepare us for future builds.

Having said all that, their suggestions of converting cupboard space to walk in pantry, changing a broom cupboard into a linen cupboard, upgrading the bench tops were all spot on suggestions.

We have been making this new house a home over the past four months and there are, as with most builds, relatively minor issues, which we have raised with the team, to which they have responded positively to rectify, and they came good on their promise to fix it.

We highly recommend GJ Northern Gold Coast (Helensvale) and would build with them again.

attentive and went above and beyond for us, answering all questions promptly and accurately. His quote was on the mark and pricing did not differ from what he quoted us (unless we changed things), he knows we think the world of him, and it really frustrates me having to write a negative review for a company that he is a part of.

The design process was also very good and the lady was also very attentive and helpful.

Unfortunately, this is where the process went downhill. Our build was just okay, the timing was acceptable however the overall final finish of the home is not. Our building supervisor provided consistent weekly updates via email and I couldn't fault him on that or answering his phone/texts messages, however, our onsite meetings were brief and quite uninformative and we really only had a couple and not one at each stage like mentioned in our contract. We had numerous issues throughout the build which we picked up on and had to bring to his attention, whilst he did fix the majority of things, he would always question it there were a few things that we ended up letting go because of this. Our PCI was also disappointing and a few comments were made against us when we performed our walkthrough which we found quite rude. Overall we felt his attention to detail on our build could have been much better, the things we noticed were actually not really hard to pick up on.

We have now been in our home since June 2020. We had numerous defects very early on which we bought to the attention of the company. Whilst they did fix a few things they then stopped (before everything was fixed) and told us they wouldn't be doing any more until the year maintenance period (I guess that's fair) so we waited patiently.. [Name Removed] one of the owners said some things inside our home at this time which we found very inappropriate. Fast forward one year, we contacted GJ Gardner Gold Coast North to ask about the maintenance process and highlighted our area of concern one of the owners then met us on-site with a defect list which we filled out and went over the items and agreed on things to be fixed. It's now been an additional 4 months and things have progressed very slowly after many attempts to get them fixed. I have emailed, called, left voice messages, etc. and consistently get ignored, once I am able finally to get in contact all I get is "I will get back to you, we are very busy" with a time frame of when this will happen but alas it never does, more weeks passed before I would have to follow up again, and again and again.. There are also things that were previously agreed on which they have now turned around and said they will not be fixing which is extremely poor of them.

Whilst I understand the industry is busy, we still find numerous homes being built by GJ Gardner Gold Coast North (even some around the corner from us, which some of the trades we need to fix our home could easily pop over) yet we have been placed on the backburner.. we believe it is easy for them to do this to us as they have received all of our money (which was always paid on time every time) and now they no longer care. I decided to take matters into my own hands and contacted some of the companies who worked on our home which I know of to get things resolved and they have been more than helpful and things have already started.. so much easier than contacting the builder who we originally paid and should be the one organizing things. I, unfortunately, do not know all the company's details to contact.

We understand that each build will have issues and no company is ever going to produce a fault-free build and we were actually expecting to have issues, however, it is how a company deals with any issues that arise that determines in my opinion whether a company is good or not and in this instance, we believe we have been let down tremendously.

I feel we have given GJ Gardner Gold Coast North ample opportunities to make things right and they have really let us down and turned an experience that should be positive and fun into the complete opposite.

every element of that house design and completely reconfigured our dream home to make the best of our aspect. In an already busy time of the building boom Mat created more work for himself to create a home that is custom designed just to help his clients. He replied out of hours, made multiple changes without a fuss, suggested elements that made our home pop and picked up on any errors. Kim Bevan was the genius that helped us through the selections phase and beyond, her gentle guidance helped us achieve what was our ‘dream look’ - a year on and we would not change a thing. Kim reconfigured a bathroom after our selections, catching what wouldn’t work when we changed our design to include a free standing bath tub. We briefly mentioned a swinging chair in passing and the next time we looked at the plans, Kim had added in support beams! Nothing was ever an issue and she went above and beyond for us. Craig our site supervisor by the end became almost like family. Could not have more respect for the hard work he put into our build. He kept our build ticking along in a time when everyone else was experiencing extreme delays. He has an absolute eye for detail. I don’t think we added a single bit of blue tape to our home, Craig picked up on everything. We appreciated Craig’s honesty and transparency. Buddy Randall was a magician! He got our pool dig organised in two weeks so we could start our build. He took us through our contract signing when someone else wasn’t available. Buddy and Craig together made sure that all our defects were rectified, we do not have a single one yet to be fixed. We have the utmost respect for this company! During our build we realised we needed a council relaxation to build the fence we wanted. We were stuck! Buddy organised for his draft people to draw up this plan so we could submit to council. It was nothing to do with GJ and he jumped to help us. This fence yet again caused dramas when it came to certification. Again, Kim and Buddy sent us all the paperwork we needed, when the certifier yet again wanted more they sent out a surveyor to help. They made what was a stressful time - stress free when it was our problem not theirs. I was on a tight budget and I never felt any pressure to upgrade and with the exception of carpets I went with all builder standard inclusions and have no regrets. My site supervisors Beau and Jack were fantastic with updates and responses whenever I had any questions. My build was spot on with the estimated time frame that Beau gave me in October 2022 when my site was cut. He said maybe May but more likely June and I had my handover on June 13th.

There were only a couple of very small hiccups but those were handled excellently and I was kept updated.

Over the journey we changed a four bedroom into a 3, took out a wall here and made modifications there, if the changes were do able there was no problem. Once we were ready to go it was fantastic to see our new home come to life.
