After 1 month of use in October 2024, I've not had any issues with the auto-dosing feature

Underwhelmed by the lack of response to my question from Haier (Fisher and Paykel), I called them. They couldn't tell me if the rubbing noise indicated a problem, only that if I booked a warranty service call and it wasn't, I would be charged an extraordinary amount for a regular service call. This is what bad customer service looks like...

I have the same issue, yet my machine was only a few weeks old. I had a technician out who diagnosed a faulty motor. The motor was replaced, but the issue still remains. What was your outcome?

After it being taken back to their workshop for a full drum assembly replacement that couldn't be done on-site, it was returned to me within a few days noise free. They loaned me a machine while it was away. A couple of days later the noise returned. Another technician attended and organised for it to be replaced with a new machine, which I received within a week.

Did they say what the issue is? Mine seems to be making the noise on and off. I've got a technician booked in for next week to look at it again.

How long have you had your new machine? Has this one worked without any problem?

They diagnosed the noise as being generated by the drive belt. The drum and motor drive assembly were out of alignment causing the belt to deform and twist slightly, resulting in the rubbing noise. The new machine is around three weeks old and has developed a few insignificant noises that weren't there when it was first installed. A big improvement from the original noise that sounded like the cat had got in with the wash!

There is delayed start from the app. Enable remote control on the washer, open app > tap on the washer > change cycle > choose cycle and under it enable delay start. Hope it helps.

My problem exactly. It should go down! Call Haier on 1300729948. Report it and a technician will come out to assess it. I’m on my second machine now. Still not working. I will be calling them tomorrow.

i am the same they are aware of the issue but dont know how to fix it they say that it is to do with the detergent being to thick

Wow ! This is the same as me! I hadnt refilled the autodosing for four months and there was still lots in there. The helpline have no idea how to fix it

They told me i have to pay $200 for a technician to come out…and ive only had the machine for 4 months

Same for me. I am awaiting a replacement but have no confidence that the smart dosing will work in which case it gets returned and I switch to Samsung.

Sadly the 2nd machine has same issue. It's going to be returned and will be my last Haier machine. Edit: I have got a 2nd collection and refund agreed with no problem so must complement Haier customer service - but not their quality control.

We had a 9kg model and that had the wrong dispenser installed in the factory. It was not an auto dispenser model and the additional holes in the dispenser poured water over the floor on a fill! So it maybe that you have the wrong dispenser installed. They replaced the machine with a 10kg model and now all seems good. I gathered this a known problem. Best of luck. Andy

I just got the 9kg in this machine and my auto dose isn't working either which is frustrating because this is a replacement from another machine I bought 2 weeks ago. So I've possibly now just gone through 2 faulty machines in 2 weeks!

I have the 10kg model as well and I havbe done 20 wash cycles without the smart dosing ever working. Did you find a solution to your problem?

We bought the 10kg, it had done quite a few loads and the auto dispenser isn't working either. I tried diluting the concentrate 50% with water but it hasn't helped. If I empty the tray the bottle symbol flashes, so it knows if it has liquid in it or not.

Update: I called Haier customer service. They told me to monitor it over the month to make sure auto dose isn’t working (as it takes very little detergent). I did. It doesn’t work! I rang again. They sent a technician out. He said he replaces these a lot (not brand specific). Most of the time the pump that draws the detergent from the draw is faulty (even from new). He usually just replaces the draw and pump, but due to it being new, I’m getting a new washing machine.

Is your new washing machine working good now? Have you got the same model replaced?

I have the same issue - smart dosing. Machine replaced but no difference. Will return again and get a Samsung this time.

I thought the new machine wasn't working either. Technician came back, said it is working. HOWEVER, the machine does not like liquid from the bottle! You have to water it down to get the consistency that it likes. That's right WTH. So even though it does apparently work, I do not use this function.

Unbelievable Tegan S. So watering down the detergents and conditioner is the only way to get it to work. I am not sure I am convinced. My hOn app on my mobile still says I have no detergent or conditioner before very wash even when the compartments are filled to the max with either detergent and conditioner or almost pure water. Anyway, I have agreement from Haier to uplift and refund my 2nd machine so it's off to Samsung for me. I wish good luck to everyone else with this problem and thank you for the information contributed above.

Un there's no delay ,there's no extra rinse either I've worked out to rinse run a 15 mins cycle no detergent.

The machine doesn't have an extra rinse cycle and from my experience I'm pretty sure it only does one rinse per wash. It also doesn't have a separate rinse program which I think is an oversight.

Thank you LJJ. Yes I couldn’t find it and I agree with you it is an oversight as i like to rinse some of my clothes 2 to 3 times. I wouldn’t have bought that model

You could perhaps use the 15 min wash without detergent (just turn off the auto dose first) that might help you.

No, it's not. Perhaps it is most gentle way to kill unwanted bacteria during wash cycle.
