I am soooo over the poor performance, unreliability & insane repair costs of this
Have a 2014 Barina ,central locking goes bananas when u put the car into another gear.Car drives but then central locking goes off & when I mean off I mean locking unlocking locking unlocking,car revs out the display on dash flickers from D to R to P etc.Driving me bonkers,have changed battery & alternator & it’s still doing it.Taken it to numerous auto electricians & when plugging in the computer to do a diagnostics there’s nothing …no code nada.So they’re dumbfounded & say when it does it bring it & we’ll try to run diagnostics ,again by the time I take it to them.I’m no auto electrician but my opinion is that something is triggering the car into not knowing wat gear it’s in.PLEASE HELP…had enough of spending more money on it.
You have some sort of earthing problem to cause this occurrence or alternatively a loose or bad connection. If I were to look at the car and based on your explanation of the fault I would disconnect and reconnect all plugs and jacks after inspection of the connecting pins and then I would check all earthing points. Yes it would be time consuming as you would have to remove door cards, cluster etc but it may well rectify the fault. If after performing these tasks the problem was still there , I would not charge you for the work. I have had many times with weird faults on cars that have consumed a lot of time but in reality it is unfair to charge the full amount as over the years if you find it once you will see it again , however the next time would take a fraction of time to fix so I would consider it a learning experience. We mechanics and technicians should understand that we don’t know all and are constantly learning. Just my thoughts on your problem and how I would approach it . Cheers hope i helps somewhat

Hi there, I recently purchased a 2013 manual TM Barina and had no problems with it until Christmas Day. I was on a 140 km road trip sitting on 110kms for quite a while. Pulled over for a stop and noticed the radio didn't switch off after locking the car. Didn't think much of it until the drive home and reached suburbia and noticed the headlights would flicker when stopping at lights and the radio would switch off and restart, sometimes with a blank screen. Next day, another road trip and all seemed good until changing lanes on a freeway, indicator on and the traction control switched off, radio and lights issues when back in town. Drove a small trip the next day and all seemed fine as normal. Any ideas???
So my little mario go kart is an auto, i’ll short drive to the end of my street and put my foot on the gas it goes to stall or does stall sometimes it’ll rattle to change gears, sometimes has high revs. Long drives the bluetooth, radio, speedo and cruise control cut out, the car won’t centrally lock nor will it start a few hours later. It’s but recently and regularly serviced yet an 89 service code continuously comes up that 3 different non holden mechanics cannot clear nor can they find the issue. I’m taking it to holden in Tuesday to sort out and need to know any idea’s on the issue or if i may be able to blame it on a manufacturing issue as i’ve had the car for 4 years now and only started this problem in December.
When accelerating and picking up speed the car struggles a bit and feels like it's backfiring, or like the engine is fluttering.. don't know how to explain It exactly. Does anyone have any sort of an idea of what could be the issue please?????

Where can I find the dipstick for the gearbox so I can check oil levels .
There is no dipstick for the gearbox. There is a way to check the fluid level if you try to refill it. Search for flush transmission fluid on Chevy Sonic/ Cruze on Youtube.
