Hi, Do you think it's possible to change the steering wheel of a bike like Honda CB750 or a similar bike and put it a bit higher similar to cruiser bike, maybe not that high or just half way high? I'm just wondering if it would be comfortable to sit on it, cause when I had a cruiser a few years ago I think my feat were facing more forward to the front of the bike.

Will a cb 500 clutch fit in a cb250 superdream?

Chris P
Chris P

Can't say it will - could be bad for gearbox or flywheel. Honestly not a mechanic - don't know - but one thing to keep in mind - stick to factory specs - factory parts. Vehicles from factory aren't designed by engineers to be modified - even an exhaust requires a rejet - collectible classics are worth less with non factory mods - your bike will have its best life cycle with factory engineered parts - respect the ride - source your parts - don't give it the backyarder treatment - ask some old boomer geeza - they grew up with that bike - ''Superdream'' was cool bike in the 70's - sorry I couldn't really help.

Don't think it would. Clutch is usually sized according to housing and power output and other parameters. Between CB250 and 500 there is a big difference.

How can we identify the best one of used Jade bikes.

1- how we match angine no and chasis no?

2- how can identify what these are original or not?

Chris P
Chris P

Don't buy an inline 250 four. Buy a 3, 4 or 500cc. Get a single like the CBR 250 R. Honda is famous for its low end torque singles. The Jade has zero retail value, is imported and was discontinued. Sorry to upset you but a VT 250 R, a CB 250 single and a GPX 250 are all better bikes. Don't buy a bike that was never meant for the Australian market. Parts, insurance and resale makes it a non event. Bikes like the MT Yamaha 300, Duke 390 and CBR 300 R have made those motorcycles - dinosaurs - mistakes - dystopics of the motorcycle world. If you just wanna blow $2000 buy a VT or GPX. I know every other loser says that - but it's sensible - inline 250 fours have their max torque at ridiculously high rpms - ok on the freeway - downright useless round town - these bikes are tampered imports - you'll be lucky to find matching numbers - let alone honest kilometres.

Brother don't waste your hard earned bucks on a light beer.

I'm looking at a 2003 model CB250 from a dealership. Only thing that scares me is 25000kms. First bike for me. Is this too high? Not sure how many kms they will do in their lifetime? Price is certainly matched and suitable. Thanks!!

Thats heaps low, its a 12yo bike. I bought one about 6 months ago. It has 62000 on it. Now its up to nearly 68000 and goes fine , only problem is it needs to warm up esp on cold mornings

Chris P
Chris P

That's only 1700 km per year - let's hope it was run in nicely with frequent oil filters - it's 15 years old - so what - as long as it doesn't blow smoke or drink oil - check suspension - rust in tank - chain - tyres and steering head bearings - disk and brake pads - scratches - no cracks in paint on frame

and it's ok. White smoke equals stem seal valves - blue smoke equals piston rings - steady bottom slam equals crank - stay away from the last mentioned - you didn't mention the price - love the ''sit and beg'' riding position - personally love em but I'd go newer - if you can't afford that - it's

still a great bike - made in Japan - another Honda Legend

I have just purchased a 2001 Honda CB250. I have noticed two things that seem to be issues with this bike. one is that it cuts out when it comes to a stop even when the clutch is in and it is idling. the second issue is that when the engine is on Neutral is extremely hard to find, this is not the case when the engine is off.

Could be that the clutch needs replacing and gear box may need some repairs.

Just turn your idle screw up a bit , Black plastic knob R/H/S under carby.

Neutral finding while running is a get used to thing. They are all the same ,just a matter of getting used to it.

Sounds a lot like the clutch is not adjusted properly, change oil and see if you can work out best clutch adjustment...clutches get sticky after the bike has been sitting and riding will free them quite a bit.

Check the oil in your gearbox, jetting and idling. Finding neutral when the engine is off is electronic - it's hydraulic when the motor is running. When you come to a stop engine should be in neutral - place in gear at stoplight - this was a common problem with this model - rev the motor when you shift down - roll towards lights in neutral - then shift to first at a stop - rev the motor - don't wuss it - it's happy to work

Feel for it and watch for the neutral light.

What is the height from the seat to the floor?

Majorki

According to the specs it's got a seat height of 755 mm (or 29.7 inches). It's pretty low, I'm short and have no problems with it.
