you a fortune to replace, nor do you need to find something to charge your EV when it runs flat, all you need to do is find a petrol station, and off you go another thousand kilometres down the road!

I currently own a 2013 DTi-S Honda Civic 1.6L turbo diesel manual in a stylish 5 DR Hatch. I drive it every day between Sydney & Shellharbour, consuming anywhere between 3.9 L per hundred to 4.9 L per hundred depending on freeway, being hilly or not. So do the sums with 42 L of diesel it will return around 1000 kms! I also must disclose that the car is done 408,000 kms how do you still running on its original transmission engine and clutch. It has been an extremely reliable vehicle and very economical to own & run including servicing & maintenance.

It drives very smoothly and has plenty of lowdown torque from 1500 rpm and its fun to drive! It has plenty of space in a very large boot, particularly when you use the magic seats that fold flat into the floor giving you a massive cargo area. It has Bluetooth and all the usual electronic aids such as reversing camera climate control.

I can honestly highly recommend the FK series Honda Civic hatch both in diesel or petrol variants. From 2012 to 2016. The petrol comes in manual and automatic but the diesel comes only in 6 speed manual transmission. I has very comfortable seats, great handling and are still very modern looking without having overcomplicated computerised systems that constantly go wrong in these new current late model cars.

have enough power. The diesel on the other hand has over 300 Nm of torque and flies.It also gets 5 litres per 100km so it s a definite sleeper.

Being a driving enthusiast and having previously owned quick cars (i.e. Audi A4 Quattro and Nissan 180SX) this was not a step down in performance at all.It has more torque than the Audi and pulls just as hard. The only difference is the Audi was 4wd so had that little bit of extra grip and wouldnt get any torque steer, which the Honda gets sometimes when launching off the line.

All up an excellent car. The Diesel is rare but if you can find one grab it, easily the best civic bar the Type R.

rattle free and drives like a new car with 46,000Kms up.

Positives:

1. Massive interior space including a 400L boot.

2. Fold flat and magic seats

3. Nice tight steering and handling

4. Solid feeling including the thunk of the doors

5. Economical on fuel

Negatives:

1. Poor rear vision

2. Relatively gutless, however, using the paddle shifters fixes this

3. High wear brakes and lots of brake dust. Do your brake re-line aftermarket

4. Some minor panel alignment issues (British built may be better than Thai built... none of these is a patch on Japanese built.

5. This car is low, you will scrape the front spoiler

6. Two tier dash means if you are short the steering wheel obscures the speedo

Overall, a good small car if you like the look and can live with some of the quirks.

Be careful – I was very happy with my 2013 Honda Civic HATCH, fuel economy was good, a little down in power compared to my previous car. Then someone ran into the back of it. that even my insurance company will no longer repair that part of my car if it is damaged again. Honda have even sent us a statement that it was manufactured in that condition. Even rusted parts at 5 months old (only had 5.000km on the clock). I did request that Honda replace my car with a vehicle that was up to my expectations of not only a new car, but of Honda quality. I was, of course, dreaming. My dealer is now paying for my car to have the rust repaired and panels re-aligned. On a more serious note, what is the rest of the car going to be like? If they can't silicone a couple of panels together successfully, I'm not going to give them much credit mechanically. I can get better quality in a Kia or a Hyundai. Extremely disappointed. Sadly, not the car they once were.

Honda hatch British manufactured Brake Issues – Disappointed in flat spot on accelerating from slow start.Buyer beware they are very hard on brakes. the first time I have encountered such a thing, where the brake pads wears out even before the tires. This does not bode well for Honda's claim of good quality vehicle build, specially coming from England.

the words brake pads is taken to mean the entire brake system. It has now decided my husband who was about buy one - we simply cannot buy another car that will need brakes replaced this often. They are refusing to assist me at all and do not accept that to say 'pads' when they mean 'brakes' is misleading and deceptive.

Not a bad little car – We bought this care second hand to use as our second car. It is used every second day mainly driving around the suburbs of the Gold Coast. Great car, love it! – Great fuel economy, a tank can last me over 700km. Although abit annoying I can only put 95+ in it. At first it was hard getting used to the blinker on the left side as the car was assembled in the UK and fog lights are in the back instead of the front. it brand new just over 4 years ago and the only thing we have needed to do mechanically was new brake pads at about 60,000KM. Very comfortable. We drove Townsville to Darwin (2500km) over 3 days (about 8 hours a day) and experienced very low fatigue levels. I'm 186cm (6'2") tall and more legroom than I need. We just love it.

Vti-S, therefore nothing special about the performance. But sometimes I feel like it is underpowered when you have 3 other passengers in the car with you.

So far haven't got any other issue other than an oil leak that has been fixed easily without spending any dime. Will continue to update this review over time. Thanks for reading.

Brake dust on the wheels – My car is great after 2+ years but the brake dust on the wheels annoys me badly every day. After about a week after washing the wheels are black again, I don't think I could buy another Honda after this one. My Euro was almost as bad. Honda Australia did absolutely nothing and allowed deceptive conduct run by the former gm. Thank god he has left this dealership and went over to subra as the serve improved a thousand fold.

The car is excellent, runs light on petrol at 6.7l. Cap servicing came in after I purchased the car which is still something as Mazda is still not cap servicing.

The car now is even better with reverse camera for easy parking. Very futuristic The people who served me were horrid, gm and sales man lied.

not to investigate when assessing prospective vehicles. Whilst the Golf would have been a great choice, I am not under any disillusions about their reliability, or rather their lack of it. Recent issues in the press around VW reliability simply confirmed my personal experience with the brand (I've owned 5 VW's before and promised myself not to go there ever again. I nearly did, but thankfully I came to my senses). The Civic should give me at least 10 years before anything in the slightest might go wrong, and even then it should be just that... Slight. The ride is somewhat firm, but handling is relatively good. The magic seats are great as I know since having owned a Jazz before amongst 3 other Honda's. The boot capacity is best in class. Why not 5 stars? All-round visibility is poor, but I am happy with the trade-offs (i.e. good aerodynamics, looks, reversing camera, etc.). Also, the gearbox has a slight clunking sound when reversing, stopping and then changing into fwd. gear. This is however not a reliability issue and is somewhat of a Honda trademark in some models it seems. My 11-year old CRV has done the same since I bought it 2nd-hand a number of years ago and no drama as yet. $28k AUD in WA (2014 MY). Interior quality & design, exterior looks, uniqueness (it's not a Corolla), great Bluetooth phone system, quiet on the road, general refinement, very comfy seats (front), cockpit dashboard (go see it) Poor all-round visibility and "clunky" gearbox when changing gear (reverse to fwd)

Reliable vehicle – Recently retired and was looking for a new car. Checked out a number of vehicles Hyundai i30, Toyota, etc. Found the Honda Civic sedan more compact and more space. Good car but – I bought one of these cars brand new. It's a very good car reliable and very smooth and enough space inside. Major problem I have with this car is soft suspension, as a result car bottoms out easily. My Civic scrape the underside of the car when driving around in Sydney. the highway, but can also take less developed roads easily (I wouldn't drive on dirt roads when it's raining, though. can stuck easily). Fuel efficiency is very good too (5l/100km on highway, 8 in the city). Enough room for the two of us and our two dogs. Less comfortable if you are trying to sit three adults in the back seat. Ok to make it to the airport and back, but not as fun on long drives. Customer service at Northside Honda is impeccable, both pre- and post-sale.

Only two things to keep in mind in my opinion: nose is a bit low, so be careful when driving on non-city roads or parking off-road. Service every 10'000 km, and is a bit more expensive than some other brands (around $200-250). Safety, comfort, reliability, fuel efficiency, looks, service. Nothing, really. Just took me a couple of scrapes to remember that the front bumper is quite low and need to keep it in mind.

You can easily use the remote control to open the window but for the standard model of civic hatch, you won't be able to use remote to close the windows. Moreover, there is a big problem with the black painting in my option, the car can get scratch easily with it's bad quality painting. Overall, This car is well built with low fuel consumption and nice features such as Bluetooth and parking camera (Rear).

Oh, you should also look at the magic seat design which provide more boot space and different solution for you to carry different goods. Great soft touch material for interior. Large boot. Low fuel consumption. Comfortable seat, good looking interior and exterior. Day Light Running light, reverse camera comes as standard. Bad Painting quality. Engine lack of power, no remote close windows for standard model.
