Is the engine and transmission the same in the TS242TXD, TS248TXD and the TS354. If so is the deck size the only main difference please.
I was delivered my Husvarna TS 242 trackor ride on this morning and took it for its first mow on my property. Didn't even last 30 mins before the belt broke. Is this a thing with them? I hit a tuft of grass. No rocks or anything just grass.
That certainly hasn't been my experience - I mowed the edges of my hay paddock with mine not too long after I got it - grass taller than the bonnet on it - and it hardly skipped a beat. I'd say you have a defective belt... Were you starting the blades with the engine speed down low? I was told to always do that by my dealer when I first got it - engaging the blades with the engine at high revs will cause it to break early - but even then, 30 minutes seems excessively short. I beat on mine pretty hard for two years before the first belt let go. Hopefully the dealer is going to look after you on that one...
The first few years I had my Husqky I spent more on genuine belts than petrol, seriously. I then bought a high quality aftermarket belt that lasted eight years.
How long should a deck belt last on medium type cutting
Mine is a tough environment, and the first belt lasted two good seasons - so I would expect at least that if you're starting and stopping the deck properly (according to the dealer I got mine from, run the engine speed down to idle, engage the blades, then speed it up again). If you're engaging the deck at full speed I'd expect you'd go through belts quicker... Hope that helps, cheers, Steve
Thanks for that I've had mine 2hr and 2belts took it back to dealer today and the beck had been set to high ,going over long grass caused the belt to rub against the deck and the tension pulls to jam on the floor
