The bed converter ultimately consists of the 2 rails and a square foam cushion for the base of the bed. We added that on the order with the caravan. We found RACV to be the cheapest insurance at the time.

Hi, we just used RAA. They were competitive and included all components of the van. Some insurers do not fully insure vans with the soft ends. cost is 650.

Sandra, as long as the towing vehicle tow bar rating is sufficient, the outback models come in various sizes & configurations, they do have a higher ride height but that should be OK behind your Kluger. My van is a 17.56" long tandem axle that weighs 2100kg unladen & close to 2600kg loaded so you do require a 4x4 with a tow rating of 3000kg. There should be a sticker on your tow bar with the load rating, you should not exceed the stated weight. Hope this helps

In addition to Lauries answer . I suggest provided the towing capacity is legally correct you invest in a car tow hitch which adjusts up wards to raise the ride height of the tow ball . This will allow the van to be level when towing

Secondly you will probably need torsion bars and air bags as the Kluger is not heavily spring from factory

Kluger in Australia is only rated to a 2 tonne towing capacity. That will limit you to a maximum of the 16 foot expanda outbacks, with reduced storage and water capacity to keep you under 2 tonne.

Hi Pete I'm not sure what you are talking about but the air con unit is not on the roof it is mounted next to the cooker in the van its self . I hope this helps. Cheers Des.

On our 2014 model it is a Trumar roof mounted A/C that would only add about 180mm. They are reverse cycle & work quite well
