Deeply disappointing and distressing experience. Our experience with JG King Homes has been unacceptable. After ongoing unresolved issues post‑handover, we commissioned an independent inspection (Mar 2026) which identified 43 building defects, including workmanship faults, incomplete works, and multiple compliance issues under the NCC, Australian… Read more
Standards and VBA tolerances. Many of these defects had already been raised months earlier and ignored.
What made this experience far worse was JG King’s deceptive, dismissive and degrading behaviour throughout the process. Issues were repeatedly minimised or deflected, commitments were not honoured, and interactions with some staff were condescending and adversarial, leaving us feeling blamed for problems clearly supported by independent evidence.
We are being made to fight for basic accountability on an expensive family home. The stress caused by poor workmanship combined with the way we were treated has been enormous.
If you value transparency, quality, and respectful treatment, proceed with extreme caution. Independent inspections and written records are essential if you deal with this builder.

Disrespectful and Disgraceful – It has been 14 years since handover, and we still live in a home plagued by defects. Unfinished render work, leaking ceiling, water damaged architraves, skirts and walls, unpainted patchwork where holes were cut in the ceiling and walls on several occasions. decaying and left untreated and unpainted, and bent guttering with brackets rendered over after patch work attempts. After water poured in through a ceiling (video attached) we had to sadly rip up a much loved $20,000 floor, due to warping and the increasing smell of mold. All they offered us were dehumidifiers that ran for weeks at our expense. By the time the dehumidifiers arrived, it was too late. the floor could not be saved. They refused to replace the floor as well. Externally, our rear façade is an absolute mess due to numerous quick fix attempts. We have not had a single year in this house without defects causing us emotional and financial hardship. Now JG King have decided that because the time frame has been too long, they will no longer be addressing any of the defects any further. Too long...hello! The defects date back to handover and have never been resolved. I really didn't want to go down the path of legal or media action, but I believe that I now have no further choice, they have wiped their hands of us. I urge anyone building a new home, make sure you are completely happy before handover, do not take their word "we'll fix it" these words mean nothing if not in a contract. All the broken promises they have made are incredible. Their attempted rectification work over the years has been careless and destructive and could easily lend itself to a current affair style program. They have defaced our property and left the damage for us to now pay to have fixed. It has left us out of pocket and emotionally drained.

A few minor issues came up during the build due to the previous site supervisor (such as mismanagement of electricity connection and concrete arrangements), but once the problems were raised, JG King Homes promptly changed the supervisor, adjusted the double billing, and resolved everything smoothly.
The finished home is absolutely beautiful!

Her communication was always clear and timely, which we greatly appreciated.
Construction began in late January 2025, and while there were a few expected challenges along the way, Jarryd, our site supervisor, has been nothing short of outstanding. He is honest, lives with integrity, and treats our build with the same care as if it were his own. He regularly updates us with calls, explains building terminology in simple terms, and facilitates site visits every 2–3 weeks, allowing us to feel fully involved in the process. His sense of humour and personable nature have made the experience genuinely enjoyable. It has truly been a pleasure having Jarryd as our site supervisor.

My experience was mostly positive with JG King. The build took less than a year with only some minor issues that needed fixing in the end. The only major problem I had was when they did the house plan they forgot to add eaves and a water tank into the design. The last site supervisor has been the most helpful, his communication was clear and he was friendly and understanding. So happy the house is done and looks beautiful, some minor fixes need to be fixed but nothing that makes the space unliveable.

Then being transferred to the head office team to finalise plans, including a non standard variation to the plan, was a seamless experience and the team really took the time to walk me through all of the inclusions. Fast forward to building - they started in October and we're about to get keys. The build process has been so smooth - communication from my site supervisor has been excellent, and his willingness to work with and facilitate my independent inspectors to go through at the key checkpoints, to then action anything that was outlined in their report - everything has made this building process really easy and positive for me. pass code for their secure parking area. A pass code to the car park could have been supplied before I arrived. I then had to move my car making me late for my oppointment chosing fittings for my new home. I suspect I got a surley response due to my tardiness and was rushed through the process. During the build most calls to the admin were not picked up and was lucky to get a return call that day. After several calls not being returned I just kept ringing until someone picked up. The site manager was abrupt and rude. I am sure he considered me a pest at best. Build quality of the house is great but make sure you have everything you want in the contract before you sign. Look at all the homes you can and jot down exactly what you are after. Ask any question you need to from the builder before signing the contract. JG King were not flexible at all when it came to changes to the build after contract signing. I have to add that I asked for a small change six months before building started and was refused. After the build trying to contact post-build maintenance again failed to pickup and no return call 24 hours after leaving a message.
