I have a kmm7 mixer and can’t get the pasta attachment to connect

Dazza
Dazza

Hi Paulam so sorry I can’t help as we didn’t have the pasta attachment. What I can say is that if you want to make pasta often then I recently was gifted an Atlas 150 pasta maker which is a hand wound unit. I have done spaghetti fettuccini and it’s so good to use. Hope you get to sort it out.

Ps: Pasta ratios is 100gms of flour to 1 egg and this feeds 1 person easily

My Kenwood Major Premier KMM7 is making too much of noise as if some big machine is running and that also without any load inside!?

The mixer attachment seems to be made from cheap alloy, last time I went to use it,it was cover in black slime, has anyone else had this problem? It appears like it hasn't been coated properly.

HI Bebe, Thanks for your questions and feedback and we're sorry to hear that it has so far not quite met your expectations. The bowl attachments are coated, however this is not what we expect from our products. We'd like to look into this further so we can assist you in getting your machine to being back in good working shape.

Thanks,

Kenwood

Having had my old Kenwood Major for 30 years and then buying a new Kenwood Major Premier December 2013, I've been really disappointed. I've only used the whisk a handful of times (I mainly use the paddle) and one of the wires has now broken off!!!!! I've use it only for whisking cream or meringues so nothing heavy. Has anyone else had that happen?

grnow
grnow

Wow, I'm using it all the time for that kind of work and it all seems fine.

I'm actually washing the whisk in the dishwasher as well. So far so good.

Mine is fine as well, no issues at all

I've had my old one for 30 years as I said and used it constantly without any problems. I've just pulled out the old whisk to use again. Not happy with the new machine for a lot of other reasons as well. Disappointing as I'm a huge Kenwood fan.

Yes that's correct. Both are working at the same time always.

There isn't a disconnect built in, the drive gears work all 3 drives at the same time.

This cheap plastic speed control knob, had that been replaced in mixers now on market? How does it compare to Cuisinart stand mixers?

DarrenC
DarrenC

I find that there is nothing wrong with the knob peronally and cannot comment on similar Cuisinart stand mixers as I am unfamilar with them. Veiwing them on the interent they appear to be a robust mixer depending on how much you want to spent and the type and frequecy of cooking performed.

Can anyone advise on the performance of the glass blender which is an attachment to the KMM770 Premier Chef. Does it blend well when making smoothies removing any chunks especially if blending leafy greens for a green smoothie? Also is it very noisy?

hayley1111
hayley1111

I've only used it for making pumpkin soup and it blended it well. I don't think it was any noisier than other blenders. Didn't take much notice really. I think it's great!

Just bought a the Kenwood KMM 770 love it whisk my butter cream so quick using the whisk attachment. Only worrying thing the dial nob is wobbly, loose and feels cheap as compare to the old model is that normal ? Should I return it or wait till it fall off?

Roundman
Roundman

I don't have the problem of a loose dial switch, but I have noted a design fault. The bowl does not have a handle, and as the planetary action is "CLOCKWISE", as the machine mixes it tightens the bowl in the frame. If you have a long mix time the bowl becomes harder and harder to remove. I have contacted Kenwood and have been told that there is a bowl with a handle available for $160. Big deal, you pay $800 for a poorly designed mixer and are then expected to pay more to get it working properly. Apart from that the mixer is great, I have just finished 12 batches of Christmas Cakes ...all good.

Chewy The control knob on our Kenwood is firm (about 1 or 2 degrees of turning before engagement ) from 'off ' position and responsive to turning pressure across range. We are satisfied with the product but

agree with Roundman about the tendency to over tightening of the mixer bowl when long periods of mixing heavy ingredients eg fruitcake.

In your situation I would get the knob looseness fixed under warranty. what starts off as a poor fit may damage the shaft of the control potentiometer over time.

I am having trouble getting my KM770 to cream butter and sugar, I am using the K beater. I feel like I must be doing something wrong can, has anyone else had similar problems?Karen

Roundman
Roundman

I use my mixer mainly for heavy fruit cake and do not need to get the very smooth creamy butter/sugar mix. You could try the whisk attachment, although I do not feel that would be rigid enough. My suggestion is to pay out for the 'K'beater with the silicon edge that actually scrapes the side of the bowl. This will work.

I have found a couple of problems with my mixer, it has become noisy, the bowl tightens in the base with a loaded bowl and I have had to adjust all the beaters to make them fit the base of the bowl. Also, no handle on the bowl, real nuisance, but the latest model does have a handle. Hindsight is a wonderful thing

Hi Kazza

Heat the butter to room temperature and warm the bowl and K beater (silicon edge) in hot water. you should have no problems then providing you are not trying to mix too small an amount.

how close is the clearance between the bowl and the beater? if it is not close enough there will be a lot of unmixed material in the bottom of the bowl. there is an adjustment for this. The screw and lock nut at the top of the beater.

hi,, i just wanna ask. is it this mixer too noisy? because my friend told me that this mixer is too noisy..needs suggestion, thanks

Roundman
Roundman

I do find it to be Noisier than my previous mixer, but it is not intolerable. My only complaint about the mixer is that there is no handle on the bowl...damned nuisance and poor design!!!!!!!!

lotus7
lotus7

The noise increases with the processing speed. As with all mixers & processors it is noisy - but no more so than the Sunbeam Cafe series mixer ( poor mixing performance) which it replaced, or even a small hand-held mixer which we use. It is less noisy than a stand alone food processor and the noise is not a problem for us. The issue is performance ie the consistency and thoroughness of the mix. In our experience the Kenwood is best in class as far as we are concerned. In a small unit with an open plan layout the noise at full speed will overpower the sound from your TV. Hope that this helps you.

The machine gets used at least once every day for bread dough mixing. Many of the attachments are used regularly it hasn't missed a beat to date and we cannot fault it as a very efficient good value for money buy.

Peter_F
Peter_F

It's no more noisy than other mixers. Best thing I like about it is you can adjust adjust the beaters and attachments to suite your own machine and bowl for exact height so you can get the best performance form it. I couldn't see that you could do this with other brands.
