What angle dies the kleva sharp knife sharpener sharpener at? M
I don't know. The sharpener is rendered immobile by suction pads that actually work and you just stroke the knife through the wedged middle parallel with the bench.

This will be the 2nd time I have registered a complaint with Klevasharp.I have not received a response since I posted my complaint about a week ago on their website.I purchased the frying pan & knife set ,I think about 12 months ago.When using the largest cooks knife,I knocked it off the bench, it hit my wood floor & just snapped in 2,close to the handle. Very brittle.I would be happy to receive a replacement knife.Kindly respond to my request.

No question. The comments are a joke, these ppl know nothing about sharpening knives. Yes these sharpeners shave metal off the blade but so do stones, you just dont notice how much of the blade you remove when using stones. Look at how quick these knives are sharpened. I bet you lot press the knives heavily into the sharpener which is why you break the sharpener or damage the knife or you feel the blade isnt being sharpened. I have a number of different types of the same style of these Tungsten Carbide sharpeners for arrow broadheads & hunting knives & most of them dont even work but the Kleva Sharp range does. My mate has a Kleva sharp & it works wonders on sharpening his expensive knives which have burrs from yrs of use that are removed with just a few passes on these sharpeners, & btw, i am no paid comment clown, i take sharpening my hunting knives & arrow broadheads seriously.

Just turn your blades around
I used mine to sharpen scissors and they are now so blunt - not impressed!
I found the same thing and I also found out I am the only one to complain about the sharpener. This is not unusual as a lot of people will not make a complaint/ However, they will tell family and friends abut their disappointment with the product. I am still not happy with the sharpening edges as they are like stainless steel and not ceramic or something similar.

when I bought it I was told I could do scissors?
I bought it from The Good Guys at Morayfield, and on the packaging it stated that it could also be used to sharpen scissors.

We do not recommend to sharpen your scissors with our Kleva Sharpener as scissors are unable to open to a 90 degree angle. Therefore, the blade is unlike a knife and can cause risk of damaging the sharpener and the scissors.

Can you sharpen scissors on kleva sharpe pro
In short yes, I tried to sharpen my scissors and that worked. My problem is with the knives as I said in my review. I have spoken with the shop where I bought it and they said I was first person that has reported problems with the Kleva Sharp tool. I might have got the bad off the production that slipped through quality control. Mine is not red but stainless steel in colour.
Isn't it funny how if you complain about a product you are the only person to have a problem.

My daughter gave me a KLEVA SHARP Knife Sharpener as a Christmas gift The blades are dull and need to be replaced. Can you guide me to how and where I can purchase the replacement blades. How much they cost? If your not able to help me out than this product was a waste of money and I will have no choice but to dispose of it. Hi, not sure if you got an answer to this question but I have the same sharpener (Kleva Sharp Pro) and had the same issue with it going dull. You can easily rotate the blades and actually get 4 full "uses" out of the blades. Carefully remove the two "star/ phillips" screws out of the top and lift up the entire top, straight up. You will now be able to access the 2 cutting pieces. Gently lift out one of them, then the other. DO NOT mix up their position, as you are simply going to change places with each other. The one on the right, move over to the left side, and the left one move over to the right. Push them down so that they are in place, and reinstall the cover (straight down), and the 2 screws. You now have two brand new "edges" for your knives to sharpen against, at no cost! When these new edges get dull, you can take it apart again. Except this time when you lift the two pieces out, turn them around backwards and you will have 2 more opportunities at fresh cutting edges! You can actually talk to any automotive mechanic who knows how to use a brake drum/disc cutting machine and he/she will know exactly what I'm referring to, as its a similar process to "rotate" the "blades". Good luck, let me know how it worked for you, as I just figured this out about an hour ago and swapped mine over! :)

Hi. I don't own any ceramic knives but I'd say yes. This sharpener was bad for my Japanese steel knives as it was so coarse. However should work better on ceramic

Hi John, I have the same problem, it's the Japanese style knife in my case. Is it your's too? My understanding is it's covered under warranty. Try a claim and let us know how you go.
Can you sharpen scissors with this?
Depends on the scissors. I used it to sharpen my scanpan shears/scissors and it ruined them. Several pairs of expensive dress making scissors were also ruined - they only cut or chew paper now. I did successfully sharpen a thin bladed scanpan knife, so if your scissors are normal thin bladed ones it could possibly work. If they are serrated or have a slight beveled edge to the blade then I wouldn't risk it.
I doubt it, a knife is sharpened into a V shape to cut through things, scissors work by two |/ half V shapes running against each other. You only sharpen one edge on sciccors, where as a knife you sharpen both evenly.
Bought 2 one for a gift and l must say the Kleva sharp dissapoints, fine for two goes then not so much... would love to buy the knife set, razors and dash cam for Christmas gifts but really want to give a nice gift l dont want to get caught in the hype..has any of these products had bad reviews?

Hi, We purchased a Kleva Sharp Pro from a stand at the Melbourne Show last Year and were very happy with the unit until the plastic lever part shattered, I note that this seems to be a common problem, can we obtain a replacement lever? It should be easy for us to press out the metal pin and insert a replacement part. How do we go about ordering another lever?
I do not know if you can buy a replacement handle it would be great if you could, the company has not even acknowledged my complaint.

Hi Margaret, I haven't had to as yet and I have had mine for well over a year. In my mind they are fairly cheap to replace if need be, however I don't imagine I would have to.

hi, on the 26-4-12 i bought 2x kleva sharp plus 2 free graters micro,my order number is 2983 ,my complaint is that ,when we used one of the kleva sharps it is working fine ,,my husband got the other one out to use it the other day and it wont sharpen the knives it seems to us to be faulty for some reason ,,i want to know what to do as it needs to be replaced by kleva sharp,please advise as to what happens now ,,you can get all my imformation through the order number as this is a public service ,,cheers julie

My daughter gave me the knife sharpener and assured me it would also sharpen scissors. It did a good job on the knives but totally wrecked my expensive new scissors. They refuse now to cut even paper, despite feeling sharp to touch. I then ran the blades in the opposite direction [as scissors cut differently to knives] but they still remain useless. Please explain! How can I fix my scissors?
I think scissors are sharpened on a different angle to knives. As they were expensive ones take them to a professional scissor sharpener (ask at your nearest sewing/patchwork shop) and they may be rescued. Scissor blades need to meet along the whole blade.
