I am renting an apartment that has no oven...only a Kogan 30 litre Microwave/Convection supplied. Checked out the instructions and as above says to remove the glass plate. What about the 2 plastic pieces under the plate. Are these safe to leave in? I want to bake muffins and cakes so I was thinking maybe I could put a metal round pizza baking tray over the glass tray and my muffins would rotate for more even cooking. If I can't do this would it be ok to just put the pizza tray on the base of the oven so I have an even surface for my muffin tray?

Hello Deb, Whatever you do, DON'T cook with convection or grill with the glass turntable OR its plastic bearing supports in place. This is my whole beef with KOGAN. They sell it a s microwave convection oven but you can't effectively use it on convection because they don't supply a metal turntable or bearing ! I've given up trying to reason with that company on this matter - they just are NOT interested. They told me to use the metal grill supplied, let the meat juices fall over the floor of the oven and just clean it up every time - REALLY !?

I would implore you to spend a little more money and buy a reputable brand unit. On the brighter side - I took mine to work for heating soups, pies and pasties using the microwave side and it's doing a good job. But, as Micro / convection NO, NO NO NO NO NO, NO - a thousand times NO.

Cheers,

Peter.

Hi deb498, It really depends on the exact model of the unit that you have there in the apartment. Some of the units can not be used with the glass turntable in. For the most accurate advice, we would recommend contacting out friendly support team on 1300 304 292 or at the following link:

I am considering purchase of your Kogan 32L Stainless Steel Convection Microwave Oven with Grill, but am concerned that some have experienced glass turntable breakages with the 25 litre model.

Your Kogan official answers say to remove the glass turntable, but I can not find any reference to this in the manual that I have downloaded. (KAMW032CSSA).

I feel that without the glass turntable/tray in place that the bottom of the microwave would end up very messy in a short time.

Can the glass turntable be left in place for grill, convection or combi cooking with the 32 litre version?

Personally I wouldn't go near it with a 50-foot bargepole. Not only does it not grill, but I couldn't get mine over 200 degrees. So much for the convection oven. As for the glass plate, I always removed it. But it was a very unimportant aspect of the thing's operations !

(Btw, I eventually managed to have Kogan refund me; but it took an awful lot of toing and froing.)

Hi Jose, Thanks for your question regarding the Kogan 32L Stainless Steel Convection Microwave Oven with Grill! Unlike the previous models, this particular unit can be used in convection / grill mode without the removal of the glass turntable.

If you have any further questions in regards to the unit at all before your purchase, please don't hesitate in contacting our friendly team on 1300 304 292 or at the link below:

Hello Jose, Yep, it does get very messy in quick time. Do yourself a BIG favour and DON'T buy this oven unless you plan to use it for microwave only. Kogan does not sell the required metal turntable OR metal turntable support to go with it. The glass turntable WILL break if you use it on convection. THIS IS THE BIGGEST CON IN CONVECTION MICROWAVES EVER.

Cheers,

Peter

I grilled on the raqck leaving the glass bottom microwave tray in. It got extremely hot. How do i get around this stupid idea. Can i cover it with something? As previously stated by others it is likely to explode.

Just remove the glass turntable and the plastic parts to prevent problems

Hi Yerias, Thanks for your question in regards to the Kogan 25L Convection Microwave Oven with Grill! We can confirm that the glass plate needs to be removed from the microwave when you are using the convection mode.

This is outlined in the operation instructions for the unit under convection mode in the user manual which can be found at the link below:

When do I take out the glass turntable to cook, (eg: convection, grill, combo etc...) , it doesn't tell me in the users guide????

Only when using the convection oven either alone or in a combination mode. Grill or Microwave is fine to use with the turntable.

Yes it is very annoying to have to keep taking out the glass tray
