Laser Clinics Australia Questions & Answers
VerifiedWhat gets done when you pay for a male Brazilian what should I expect
Hi, I'm thinking of having laser hair removal done on my face but I'm really worried about it I'm going through menopause and since I've been on hrt I think/feel like my face is getting hairier if that's the correct way to spell it I am a Nan to 2 boys that I have full custody of and I feel I need this but I am just scared of results, for example: scarring and redness if that happens, does it go away and how many sessions would I need? Please can someone help with my question
I sign up for 6 traitment for my girlfriend, how can I transfer, Regards
Do Laser Clinics ever respond to complaints? As I'm still waiting for a follow up about my uneven lip filler!
How does Laser Clinics Australia get accredited with a 4.6 star rating? If you look at the dropdown ‘Statistics’ box, it shows 4975 five stars and something like 1100+ ratings of 1-4 stars. This averages out at about 3.9 stars, maybe less. Some very bad outcomes that don’t even deserve the 1 star given, but reviews probably demand a rating. I’m sure there are very good stories but bit of a query about the overall rating.
I am not a hairy person , but I do produce hair . I’ve been going laser for 6 sessions now and I have seen limited hair production . But I have never had so much ingrowns in my life . Why do I have so muchingrows after laser? And my arms never produced ingrowns and now they do .
Hi, I know Laser Clinics Australia uses GentleLase Pro Candela but I'd like to know what class it is.
If you're a dark skinned person, could you please let me know what your laser hair removal experience was like? Also, which clinic did you attend? I'm considering Greensborough as it's the closest one to me but I can also get to Doncaster and Northland.
I just had Botox for my forehead lines and frown lines and have noticed movement and lines between my brows when I frown, I was told to come back in 2 weeks if I notice anything that requires a top up. Will I have to pay extra for the top up or will it be free from my first appointment?
I'm responding very late but for people looking at this question in the future, yep you have to pay for top ups.
Look, I'm new to hair removalin general. Have booked to have my Brazilian done and after the first session have realised this does not include hair around your butt, even though in their FAQ's it does state the Brazillian includes this.... I'm too awkward to ask the ladies face to face - they aren't exactly comforting or non-judgemental - so I'm wondering if anyone can help me out -on the website, I can book for "Buttocks" ($120-ish) or "Behind" ($50-ish) ... I'm assuming behind is probably going to be what I'm after - just wanting clarification on the difference between the two and what's actually included?
Hi Sofi, valid question! The buttocks is the cheeks while the Behind is the anus.
Is it better to shave or use hair removal cream before a half arm hair removal treatment Thanks
Hi Anthony, please shave the treatment area the night before your appointment. Please avoid waxing or hair removal creams for 4 weeks prior to your laser hair removal treatment.
I I do permanent underarms hair removal which would be the best clinic and does it cause any harm to the skin
I go to my local Laser Clinic in Perth- Midland. It causes no harm to my skin, but you are best to ask your therapist before starting any treatment if there are any risks involved for yourself.
Hi there! The laser works by directing concentrated light into the hair follicle inhibiting the hair’s ability to grow without disrupting or damaging the skin’s surface. Our lasers use a wide beam which allows the removal of multiple hair follicles at the same time.
Our experienced Therapists will take your skin and hair type into account before creating a personalised treatment plan.
The Candela GentleLASE Pro is designed to work for clients with dark hair and lighter skin, while the GentleYAG Pro works best on a darker skin tone.
Hi, I have olive skin (Half European/Half Australia), what do you recommend to lighten or try to get rid of my pigmentation? Thanks
Hi Carla, please book a complimentary skin consultation with our team and we can offer you tailored advice :)

What are the side effects of having laser treatment on my freckles?
Hi, I have been a loyal customer for almost 10 years and have done wide range of treatments from laser to peel to injectables at regular basis. All experiences were nothing but excellent service and satisfied results. I had a pigmentation laser treatment today which it would have been my 6th or 7th treatment and for the first time I was told that they couldn’t proceed because I didn’t do the skin preparation at home for 2 weeks which is now the “new company policy”. I was also told that the skin prep involves 3 different products from your shop and if I were to use other brands they have to be exact the same concentrations and approved by the store manager. My question is that is that true? If so, can I ask if you are able to provide any scientific evidence saying that Glycolic acid and Vitamin C can prevent laser burn as this was your store manager’s argument. Overall today’s experience felt like a low class, forceful cross sale trick that really doesn’t match to the Laser Clinic Australia that I have known for the last 10 years.
Did you end up getting the laser pigmentation completed? I’m getting mine done next week and am slightly nervous - pain threshold isn’t great.
I also was not told of the 2 week prep I had to do...
After a very heated conversation as I was not informed about this new rule when purchasing and also not at making the appointment, also after being threatened that they could burn my face without the prep by the store manager, she let me have the treatment but told me that they will lower the setting to reduce the risk. She also said this is wasting my time and her time!! I am waiting for the company to reply and if not I will make a formal complaint about this incident.
In terms of pain, obviously it will vary by individual but more pigment it hurts more. In my case, I only had a few faint spots left so the pain didn’t bother me at all. It almost becomes my maintenance procedure after summer season!
Why does laser hair removal need the aftercare products ($110) to be used after having a hair removal session when ipl/spl does not require any aftercasre except staying out of the sun ? The products are not cheap so I am assuming this is to compensate for treatments that are on specials like $10 underarms ?
The use of the after care products will help improve the your results from the ipl and prevent any possible side effects from the ipl, like darkening of existing skin pigmentation, and to help prevent any bacterial infection from a reaction to the ipl etc. No it isn't absolutely necessary to purchase them from LCA, you could go to any shop that sells beauty products and buy the same stuff for less. I bought some of the products because i wanted something to treat my pigmentation, and a glycolic scrub to help with ingrown hairs, which have caused me scarring in the past. The Skinstitute stuff is made in Australia and the bottles are massive, so i imagine they're worth what you pay. They would last a really long time. But you're totally within your rights to say no and use your own preferred products! They do tend to push them on you, and it wasn't a nice surprise at the end of my first round of treatment.
Does the lasering in a certain area cause growth in another area? example- lasering of the face could possibly cause hair to grow in another spot (eg- the arms etc?
It certainly hasn’t happened to me! I have never been happier with my results with laser treatment from Laser Clinics Australia. I’ve had about 4 treatments over two years on my legs, armpits and bikini area and hardly any hair has returned.
I have heard from other privately owned businesses that the reason laser clinic is so cheap is because the lasers aren’t as strong and it therefore requires a lot more sessions. I also heard laser clinics use different lasers? I have heard great things from anyone who has been to one of your clinics but I am wondering if there is any validity to different types of lasers? Or is it just a bitter and overpriced business owner talking trash?? Kind regards
Hi, laser Clinics is so cheap because of all the business competition and the prices are what the treatment is worth to be honest. The Candela laser is the strongest laser for hair reduction in at the moment it is specifically attracted to pigment so if you have light skin and dark hair then it will be great. It is Stronger that your standard IPL device that isn’t a laser it’s a pulse light and it isn’t great for hair reduction. Most privately owned businesses use IPL devices because they are cheap, but that technology is dated now they are old machines and don’t work. A candela laser is worth over $250,000. If you are concerned then go to a laser clinic and ask for a test patch.
Thanks so much for the answer. I am truly disgusted at what some small businesses are charging for this service. Let’s just say for one session on one area I could get 3 sessions for three areas with you #nothappy
Hi, I am Tripti. I need your help I took already 4 sittings in your clinic Now I am in India. Could you please suggest is there any option available Tripti g. tripti1@gmail.com
Hi,
I have my first laser hair removal session on Friday for my beard.
I have medium/olive skin tone and am Indian.
I was wondering if anyone experienced safe results? I am very very scared of the skin darkening or any change whatsoever and it's giving me panic attacks
Hi there. The treatment works best on dark hair so you shouldn’t have an issue. It doesn’t hurt - you only feel a bit of heat - so please don’t panic. It doesn’t change your skin tone or give red marks etc. If you have any concerns, ask the girls at your Appoinment. They are great!
