Really bad fridge. Problems from the start. Seals broke and were replaced and broke again early on. Then the ice machine and water dispenser stopped working about 6 months after the extended 5 year warranty expired. Just shy of 7 years, the freezer and refrigeration function stopped working, so we have an expensive cupboard. LG are prepared to pay… Read more

This fridge has been awful. Cost thousands and has lasted 6 years! We have had 3 repair people come out due to various issues each time costing hundreds. The water filter stopped dispensing ice after 4 years, I paid $300 to be told it was going to cost $800 to purchase a new door (apparently a common problem with LG). Elegantly well designed and spacious – The most striking feature with this four door is that both the top and bottom sections are full length spaces without any dividing panels as with two door refrigerators. So even when one opens say the right hand door one can access items from the entire lengths of the shelves. Show details ·  1

Great fridge but dents very easily – Great fridge had it for 2 weeks but disappointed we already have dents it’s in an open space. Our last stainless steel fridge we had for 13 years in same position and didn’t get a dent till last couple of years clearly the materials are very poor as we have no idea how it has become dented in such a short time Show details ·  1

Great product! – Sleekly and well though of designed fridge that I fell in love when I saw its in-door Ice/Water dispenser system and literally changed our decision from buying a similar Samsung fridge to this. One of the biggest problems with fridges that dispense Ice/Water is that the dispenser compartment takes a lot of space and makes one side of the fridge… Read more ·  1

door unusable. In this fridge however, LG placed the whole Ice Machine inside the door giving you back the door space you always need a lot. The fact that there is no dedicated space for storing eggs is a little bit disappointing but not a big deal. Having said that, the "Extra Space" compartments (in front of crispers ) are another good use of space examples which come quite handy for small items (e.g. Butter, Cheese Slices, Half a Dozens of eggs, etc.). Retractable shelf is also a nice design feature letting you to push half of the middle shelf back proving space for longer items (e.g. Wine/Champagne bottles, etc.). Like any other plumbed fridge, you have to consider an extra $250-400 (based on plumber you hire or your kitchen arrangements) for connecting it to your kitchens water supply (if you do not have any water tap nearby of course). It also offers Wi-Fi connection (through LG ThinQ app) which is good thing to have but obviously not something that I changed my mind to buy this fridge for.

The worst fridge we have ever owned – This has been the worst performing refrigerator we have ever owned over the last 40 years. In the meantime we have lost hundreds of dollars worth of food and still have no refrigerator. Obviously this fridge is of very poor quality and comes at not only a huge cost to us but also to the environment.

Not a good product – Ice maker broke within 6months. We called LG and they said we would have to fix it ourselves looking at manual. We did that. And they keep saying call back and they don’t. They just make things go slow. We haven’t had ice for a month now so we have to make our own for water bottles that’s really frustrating. LG products are an absolute piece of junk – Every element and part of this fridge was built to fail. We have had the internal shelving fully replaced as it cracked within a year. The cause? EXPENSIVE LG FRIDGE DIES AFTER ONLY 5 YEARS - KNOWN PROBLEM AND LG REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE or PROVIDE SUPPORT – After looking for something to fit in the space I had available I bought this fridge in 09/2018 and was very happy with the design and fridge overall except for the crispers freezing fresh produce which of course destroyed them and any food being placed too close to top and sides of fridge would also freeze and ruin things like yogurt etc. I did… Read more

call LG, they said to turn it down, which left everything else too warm, not ideal but I just learned to live with those things because everything else, I loved.

1-3-24 late in the afternoon on a Friday I realised my fridge, and freezer had stopped cooling, the first hint I had was the ice in the ice maker started thawing and water ran out all over the floor. I called LG and after waiting on hold for a ridiculous amount of time while the customer support person contacted customer support?!?!?!?! they told me I would have to call their service agent. I said this doesn't help me as you have now wasted so much time, they will be closed, would you please escalate this as I need to speak to someone else. At first they kept saying no, it couldn't be escalated, then said they would, left me on hold for 20 more mins and then hung up on me, leaving me stranded on a Friday afternoon in very hot weather in summer with all of my food going to waste.

I rang at least 5 local refrigerator techs who, after asking a few questions about the make, model and problems, told me to just buy a new fridge, this is a known problem with LG, don't waste any money getting anyone out, it is a gas leak that can't be reached, just buy a new fridge.

Monday I called the recommended service/repairer, but no part was available at this time, it is on order. I then rang their back up repairer, they were 3 times the call out amount and higher hourly fee too, as other local repairers and only had 1 of the 2 parts that must be sold together in stock, so no use to me either ... I continued to waste hours of my life whilst trying to work, over the next few days calling LG for escalation, to be told on Tuesday I would receive a call back within the hour, no call, after 50 mins of holding on Wednesday I was told I would receive a call back on Thursday at 12pm, today is Sunday...still no call...

I could call out their repairer for $130 and hundreds of $$$ of labor only to be told that it is NOT the part with the 10 year warranty. (I have had someone local out to tell me this) even if it was that part (condenser), I would still be required to pay, call out, labour and all other associated parts that need to be replaced when the condenser is replaced, hardly a warranty as far as I am concerned. If it is warranted for 10 years and something goes wrong, why are customers required to pay all associated costs of replacement?

I have had no fridge for 10 days, LG customer service and offshore call center are appalling, one of the worst I have encountered and that is saying something.

My fridge is 5 years old. It is disgraceful to think that a big name company like LG is selling expensive products like this and is ok with not only leaving people stranded without refrigeration and support when this happens, but actually actively ignoring customers and leaving them with no option but to buy a new fridge after such a short time because seriously, who can spend hours and hours on the phone to a customer support line that provides no support and gaslights them by telling them they will call back and then don't, over and over.

LG, sustainably, this is criminal and totally unacceptable, get your act together, make and sell a quality product that will last longer than 5 years and take responsibility when things go wrong and value your customers by providing customer support when they need it, not just a number to call with agents who don't provide any support whatsoever.

* I loved this fridge when I bought it, it was a new model with no reviews available but I did become a bit suspicious when I noticed approx 12 months later that this model was no longer available... I guess this was the reason, there was and is a problem...

This is now with Fair Trading, let's hope I can get some assistance finally. Update - LG did not even respond to Fair Trading!!!

Underwhelming and not what I expected from LG – I've had this fridge for just under a month now and am totally disappointed in it. The fridge has a ridiculously large lean to the rear which causes the doors to violently slam shut. It is so far off plumb its not funny. With any bottles or other items in the storage compartments in the doors it is even worse - especially on the left hand side… Read more

where the ice maker resides which makes me wonder how long the ice maker will actually last.

This excessive lean is caused by an oversize white roller wheel under the unit which is centred and towards the front. The entire fridge balances on this wheel and the front feet on either side do not even touch the ground. To level the fridge and give it stability you have to wind the feet down which makes it lean back even further. The front roller can not be adjusted.

Further adding to my frustration is the uneven levelling of all the individual doors - they just don't line up, even after I have adjusted them the maximum amount as per the instructions in the user manual - and yes the fridge cabinet has been levelled. They have reached maximum adjustment and still the doors do not line up. Every time I look at the fridge it is a constant disappointing reminder of the poor build quality, and when I hear those doors slam shut violently, I cringe.

With the fridge temp set at 4 degrees Celsius, the sliding vegetable and fruit drawers freeze fruit and veg with high moisture content towards the rear of these drawers. We have had to throw out a bunch of tomato's, zucchini, etc. I placed a wireless thermometer in the rear of the drawers and it gets down to as low as minus 3 at the back of those crispers, and the shallow small item storage containers at the front of the fridge also are at or just below zero as well. I now put cans of beer in the back of the fruit and veg drawers to stop the freezing. I cant raise the temperature, because the rest of the fridge areas are at 4 degrees , as measured by the wireless thermometer !

The WiFi functionality is pretty basic, only being able to set the temperature of the fridge and freezer and turn on or off the quick freeze functionality. The fridge does not show you the actual temperature of the fridge or freezer, just what is set. Not acceptable in a new fridge in 2019. The fridge does not come with an egg storage container either. The material on the fridge doors is very thin and dents very easily. There is already several small dents in the freezer doors.

Some positives - the water filter is in an excellent position and easy to change. The icemaker in the door maximises fridge and freezer space and is a great idea. The freezer has plenty of storage. .

I can not recommend this model of fridge in any way shape or form. The design is sub standard and this fridge is not worth close to the money I paid. I haven't purchased an LG item ever before and will never again after this experience.

Great fridge with some minor issues – This is a great fridge with a massive freezer and plenty of space. There are a few minor issues that may drive some people nuts. 1. if this is too expensive. 4. It dints easily if have have kids who run their toys etc into it. Ours way dinted by the delivery driver but cause it was on the side we didn’t bother getting it looked at. 5. The ice can go everywhere if you don’t hold your glass up to the top when dispensing the ice. We learnt that very quickly. 6. There is a lot of space in this fridge but only 3 shelves. I think it could have done with a fourth shelf to maximise the space.

I love this fridge but there are a few issues to consider before purchasing.

Does the job – The fridge is user friendly in terms of setting the temperatures, installing the filer and connecting the water was easy (if you already have the plumbing connection). The only down side is that the left side fridge door is much heavier than the right because of the water and ice dispensers and tends to slam shut.
