LG WD1408NPW Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: 36436460Can I use stand for safety purpose?
No warranty if placed on a pedestal.
Do I understand correctly that it won't select both hot and cold water for under 40'??
That is correct, it will draw cold water and heat it up in the machine.
What do I do when red key on machine keeps flashing and door won't open
red key won't stop flashing if there is water still in the machine; try putting on the spin cycle . If there is no water in the machine and it still won't open turn it off at the power or if you have one press the reset button. Hope this helps.
Does this have an internal heater? We only have cold water connection in our laundry and don't know if we will be able to use the hot/warm water option. Thank you.
I don't think so, as it has two pipes, but I can't say for sure as we have both hot and cold. It does however have temperature control so you can adjust the temperature of the wash, so you could just select a cold wash each time :)
Hope this helps
all washing machines have a heater as not all homes have ht/cold water taps.
Yes it will heat the water and does so on a 40 degree wash even if you have hot water connected and turned on. Only on a hotter wash does it use the more economical off peak hot water from your supply.
Does anyone know which cycle is best for towels? Since usibg a front loader my towels are stiff and scratchy.
I tried using a slower spin cycle for my towels and they were a bit softer.
Tried that and no difference. Submitted an online request to LG who simply replied to ring their customer line. Tried once and gave up after waiting 15 mins. Surely online feedback could provide suggestions of things to try??? Bad support LG!
Use the maximum amount of fabric softener for your towels.
this happens with all machines. The only way to soften towels is a) use a bit of vinegar in rinse cycle b) spin towels at 600 rpm and air-dry them afterwards or put them into dryer for 15min after you take them of the line.
Over a period of time I have found that my towels are getting softer again by omitting the use of any sort of fabric softener. This problem seems to be with front loaders but not top loaders. Apparently the fabric softener puts a coating on the fibres of the towels.
Be careful with the use of vinegar as it can cause dye to run even in older items. I had the colour run in a 30 yo beach towel. I would have thought that it would not run after all this time.
After washing I rough the towels up a but and shake them before hanging them in the sun to dry.
Epsom Salts in the wash keeps them soft. The directions are on the box.
