Makita ER2650LH Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: ER2650LHHave had this unit for several years and it’s been great. Bump head finally broke and looking for replacement. But cannot for the life of me figure out if should be replacing it with A-89137 or A-89121. Anyone experience with replacing these?
Not sure but you can contact a Makita service centre through their website. They provide a phone number for each state on an interactive map.
You can get a universal bump head replacement if you can't find what you're looking for in a Makita all you need to do is visit a service center that service these machines and they usually have them for sale on site.

I prime the fuel flick the choke on 2 pulls and starts idles perfectly, but won’t rev up as soon as I give it more throttle it wants to cut out, I don’t have the choke on at this point. Was going great last time I used it. Have replaced fuel lines in case it wasn’t getting enough fuel due to air leak. Any ideas

Can you fit alloy head onto makita 2650?
No idea. The original seems to be long lasting if you keep the spinning bottom bit away from concrete which is not difficult at all. Bunnings sell a non Makita head (like original for $50. Have a look, it says it fits makita, and see the connection end so you have a vague idea of what is it. I seriously doubt I will need a replacement for many many years. The last 2 stroke no name trimmer from 30 years still had it's own head till I scrapped it for this makita 4 stroke. So don't let that lack of any metal head option be a problem for you, as everything can be modified to fit if you throw money at it making an adapter between the head and the trimmer, by that's not going to happen is it?
How do you replace the cord ?
Late , but anyone else , go to your local mower store, they will show you if you get stuck. Maybe as a courtesy buy some trimmer line off them.
is this a fourstroke?
Yes it is 4 stroke.
Yep, 4 stroke.
What size cord do I use?
2.4mm according to operators manual.
