After taking maltofer I am having headache, dizziness, short breath, feel like vomiting. Is that the sight effect?

That sounds like an allergy reaction to me. I'd stop taking it and go and see your doctor.
Hi Karma, these tablets were recommended to me by my doctor because they did not cause constipation. I found this not to be so, and in addition I suffered many other side effects, some of which were debilitating. When I stopped taking them, my body recovered, but it did take a week to get back to normal. Everyone is different and you need to check with your doctor. I can only tell you what happened to me.
Hi Karma, Please stop the medication. I have had a big allergy for the last 30 days in my skin, face and lips and something is not right with my throat. It feels weird, I will go to see the doctor today...Everything is wrong with this medication: Expensive, didn't raise the iron level and has massive secondary effects.
Can maltofer cause thrush?

I’ve been taking maltofer for 4 months 2 a day how long do they take to work
I had taken Maltofer for a few months then one night took it with a glass of coke cola. I usually have it with water only... I had a reflux type reaction and upset stomach for a few days. I did not have any more maltofer but after a few days/ week I did and had an anaphylaxis type reaction. I have not had any since but now can not have any medication or supplements as I go into anaphylaxis. Has anyone experienced this?
No I haven't and I suggest you go and talk to your G.P. about it and don't take any more Maltofer. Take care.
I have loose stools since taking Maltofer. Anyone else get this or heard of this happening?

It's really hard to tell with these things, as to if it's "cause, effect, or coincidence". Read the possible side effects sheet, and then see your doctor, would be my advice. All I know is that I had to stop taking it - it darkened my teeth a bit, and I'm not entirely sure that it wasn't causing shortness of breath, as well. Lo and behold, teeth darkening was in the possible side effects list. A shame because it was otherwise good.

Hi , I am not sure about that, I suggest you to consult your local gp on that. It definitely helps with increasing iron levels but every person is different and I wouldn't be able to advise or suggest on that. Sorry . Have a good day
It should not, if everything else is the same. You should see a gp or perhaps a functional medicine gp... there may be other factors at play, especially if you take other medications, or have other medical issues. Any sudden weight gain or loss should be investigated.
Hello. My ferritin stores are very low, and worse now that I am pregnant. Has anyone found using Maltofer has improved their ferritin levels?
Hi Kate, I did take maltofer both tab and in liquid form without fail with vitamin C during my pregnancy last year , well it did increase it a little and I did have constipation with it so I switched to blackmores pregnancy iron tab. It was much better on my tummy and helped in increasing my iron level.
I have taken this meltofer for 2 days. 1 tablet after breakfast. On the first day I feel a bit uncomfortable on my stomach. On the second day I take after breakfast too & didn't feel anything except after lunch I feel my gastric is too bad. Its not painful but too much gas until I have to take my gastric medicine. I would like to ask if its normal symptoms of taking iron?
Do you normally have gastric medicine? If you have gastric problems sometimes maybe ask your doctor if it's OK to take maltofer with your problem. I have never had gas from taking iron, but maybe this is what happens to you - everybody is different.
I am taking Pantoprazole (40mg) one a night for gastric reflux. This has caused low liver-iron levels and which has been treated with a single iron fusion. I would instead like to take Maltofer with food instead. What is the best way to take Maltofer and what treatments are best?
Because of your other medication, you'd be better off to ask a doctor or pharmacist this particular question, I think.
How long before blood tests showed noticeable increase in iron levels?
Hard to answer definitvely. There are a few different blood tests for iron, serum iron, globulin, TIBC etc without getting super technical... some show sooner than others... obviously this will be different for different individuals depending on how depleted your iron stores are, as opposed to your freely circulating iron. Anaemia symptoms can disappear well before your blood test levels show a marked difference - again - depending on your previous levels, and what your iron issue was.
