Hi, my S200 starts and moves for a few seconds and then stops. The blue light on the controller panel stays on. I have cleaned the impeller and also performed a dry land test. I have changed the filters but the unit does the same thing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

UPDATE: I took the impeller motor out and it was covered, and the internal electronics, in carbon dust from the brushes. Vacuumed it all out and gave everything a blow out as well. You'll need a little bit of mechanical know how but it's not too hard. Photograph everything as you go and don't forget to make sure the rubber o-ring is securely in place when putting the motor covers back together. Reassembled and it now works!

My S1oo tracks keep coming off. The tracks are in good condition, it looks like I need to adjust wheels, is this possible or do I need to replace the spaces behind the wheels as there seems to be a fair bit of play in the wheels. Can I buy a kit for this or can I adjust the wheels?

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Russell, Thank you for your enquiry regarding your Dolphin S100. The tracks on your Dolphin can become damaged and slack if it is often used in a chemically unbalanced pool. If this happens, we advise you to change your tracks. The following video gives instructions on how to replace the tracks on your Dolphin:

My S200 is about 5 years old and has stopped collecting debris from the bottom. I have pulled it apart. The impella works well, no blockages. Plenty of water flow. Moves well through water and climbs walls. The flap unde front tracks works well. Any ideas as to the cause. Do the filters in the basket need to be replaced.

Is there any way I can set my Dolphin S200 to not do the walls/waterline clean every time and just focus on the floor of the pool? I.e. a quick clean. Thanks

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Tom, thank you for your enquiry regarding your Dolphin S200. The S200 only has the 1 cleaning cycle time of 2 hours. During this time, it will clean the floors/walls and waterline. Unfortunately; the Dolphin S200 doesn't have the option to change cleaning cycles.

Hi guys, I've had my s100 for around a week, does it take long to map the pool? Vinal underground pool with a concrete base, I've also got a bench seat with angled steps at 1 end with a circular deep end.. it looks like it gets stuck in the same pattern and doesn't clean the corners?? Chees

Hi I have mine also about 2 weeks old. I am guessing it has mapped the pool by now because I see it cleans very nicely. Not sure why your get stuck. Maybe contact the support and ask the question

Stuart
Stuart · Dolphin S400

I just used my new Dolphin Liberty 400 (cordless) for the first time and its run a full cycle with wall climbing etc but when it finished, there are large areas completely untouched. It seems to have only covered around 60% of the pool floor. I watched it spend a lot of time down one section of the pool. This thing does not clean my pool anywhere near as well as my suction cleaner. I thought these things had some sophisticated navigation system to completely clean the whole pool? I'll be taking it back to the shop I purchased it from if this is the best it can do.

Ron
Ron

I have the S400, Same issue. It does pick up but it doesn't leave the pool clean

Chris C.
Chris C.

Spot on. This thing is junk. I’m lucky to get 10% of my pool clean because it goes back and forth from my step to the back wall. That’s it! Sent it back to Maytronics and they said it works fine. Now they refuse to speak or call me back.

Stuart
Stuart

I took mine back to the store I purchased it from and they took it back and I swapped it for the Dolphin M6oo corded model. This one is brilliant. Absolutely chalk and cheese comparison. It cleans the pool perfectly and because it's corded, it can go again and again if needed. The S400 sounds like a good idea in concept but the reality is quite different.

The packaging for my new S200 says it has a “Cleaning Cycle : 2 hours + weekly timer” Any time how to activate the weekly timer? There is just one button on the power supply box… which seems to be the On/off button… nothing else to make a selection. Thanks for any advice.

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi David, Thank you for your enquiry regarding the Dolphin S200. You can use the weekly timer either directly from the power supply. Please see instructions below: Weekly timer on the power supply:

LED light 1 - the robot is set to automatically perform one complete cycle per day. It will therefore start up 7 times during the scheduled week.

LED light 2 - the robot is set to automatically perform a complete cycle once every two days. It will therefore start 4 times during the scheduled week.

LED light 3 - the robot is set to automatically perform a cycle once every three days. If none of the buttons are pressed for the first 5 seconds after powering up, the robot will cycle once and only once.

As long as the robot is running in weekly programming mode, the LED indicator will flash continuously between cycles. At the end of the week, the power supply will turn off automatically. You must then reprogram the robot.

You must leave the power supply unit switched on when using the Dolphin robot weekly timer.

The flashing light on the power supply indicates that the weekly programmer is activated on your Dolphin robot.

Although you may be away, the robot can stay in the water of your pool for a week, you will need to clean the filter at the end of the weekly cycle.

Thank you for your reply and advice…. Any further advice appreciated. Thank you

Hi. Is there a different number I can call (I can’t call your 1300 number from New Zealand) My S200 power supply has just one button… which if I press it once turns to cleaner on, and if I press it more than once it turns it off. Can’t figure out how to engage the weekly timer options… if I turn it on, it runs for 2 hours and if I then leave it in the pool it doesn’t operation again - so not sure how to engage weekly timer mode to have it run daily/every 2nd or 3rd day for 7 days. It clearly says on the box it came in that it has a weekly timer. Thanks. David

I wrote a glowing review of our S100 (or maybe S200, not sure) some years ago and we are still very happy with the product. The one minor nuisance is that the programming seems to have the robot turning right more often than it turns left so that over time the blue umbilical cable becomes tangled. We remedy this by occasionally lifting the robot out and rotating it anticlockwise many times till the twisting is eliminated. Is there a way to have the programming reset to overcome this problem by evening out left and right turns?

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Hee, Thank you for your additional enquiry regarding your Dolphin robotic pool cleaner. As mentioned in our other response, Cable maintenance is an important step in ensuring the life of the cable. To maintain a cable and to keep it in its most optimum condition, the following is recommended:

-Set the power supply on the deck as close to the centre of the pool as possible. - Only put as much cable in the pool water as is needed to reach all corners of the pool, even slightly less, as the robot will take in the cable it needs. - Ensure that the remaining cable is neatly rolled up on the deck. - Once a week, disconnect the cable from the power supply, untangle and straighten the cable from the robot upwards and lay it on the ground (in the sun if possible), for 30 minutes prior to rolling it up. - When rolling up the cable, ensure never roll the cable in tight circles and only in large loops.

I have a DB2 dolphin cleaner that has been in the pool for 6 1/2 years. It only comes out when swimming. I am looking at buying a new one as it has stopped working and needs a lot of parts to fix it. I noticed you don't seem to produce the DB2 anymore. Is the S200 an equivalent? The DB2 was faultless considering it was in the elements for so many years.

Hi Jase. The rubber flap is held on by 6 rubber nodules that go into holes in the plastic body at the rear of the unit. The flap is not staying attached and I find it floating in the pool. It never used to do that. I will talk to my pool shop today. Thanks.

I'm looking at purchasing a S100 but my pool has a beach style entrance. My pool is kidney shaped with a pebblecrete finish. I'm wondering if this is a suitable model for such a pool? Would it be able to sense the water depth and not drive out of the pool? Thanks

GayB
GayB

Hi Lachlan, Probably best to get in touch with Maytronics themselves to ask about the beach swimout to be sure before purchasing, however, my pool also has a 500mm deep x 3m curved sitting area and the Dolphin gets up there with ease. The Dolphin pushes itself around using the pool water so I would take a guess and say that it would probably recognise that it's no longer in the water. It actually maps the pool like a robot to learn the surface area much like the robototic vacuums so I reckon it would be smart enough.

To be honest, this is the best pool cleaner I have ever had in 30 years of owning pools and having Creepy Crawlys, Baracuda's you name it, nothing beats this cleaner in my opinion.

Talk to Maytronics, they are very helpful people. All the best!

Danster8
Danster8

I don't think it would avoid the beach area. The S200 goes up walls then across any surface (such as a step) and I presume it would do the same for a beach section.

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Lachlan. Thank you for reaching out. The Dolphin S200 is suitable for a variety of surfaces, inclusive of pebblecrete and also for differing pool shapes, such as kidney. The Dolphin requires a minimum water depth of 400mm to ensure best performance as its impeller is fully covered by water. With regard to the beach area, the Dolphin will scan and map the pool and will generally only go as far as the water depth allows.

Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team on 1300 693 657 option 2 for any further information.

When the dolphin s200 goes for 10secs how should we program th control box to fix this.

Maytronics
Maytronics   DM

Hi Murray. Thank you for reaching out. If the power supply LED light stays on and the robot displays signs of not functioning correctly, we recommend to check for obstructions within the impeller. The impeller (which resembles a fan on the top of the unit), may be tangled with leaves, hair, and other debris. With the robot disconnected from power, remove the impeller cover, which is located at the top of the unit where the blue cable is connected, and examine the unit. Any obstructions are to be removed.

Please visit us at external link  for a video as to how to check for obstructions within the impeller.

Should the above troubleshooting not resolve the problem assessment is recommended. Please visit us at external link  to locate your closest service agent.
