Aaron and the Studio team also deserve recognition. The Studio experience was thorough, well organised and supported by people who clearly knew their products and could provide qualified advice. There are a lot of decisions to make when building a home, and having knowledgeable people guide us through those choices made a real difference.

Once we moved into construction, Clinton led the process extremely well. Communication was consistent throughout, and we always felt informed about where things stood and what was happening next.

Anyone undertaking a construction project needs to be realistic that things sometimes will not go to plan (weather, shortages etc). For me, the measure of a good builder isn't expecting everything to be perfect; it's how issues are communicated and, importantly, how solutions are found. On the occasions where something needed attention, there was good communication, ownership and a focus on finding a solution. That gave us a great deal of confidence and comfort throughout the build.

Overall, it has been the transparency, communication and solution-focused approach across the different Metricon teams that has stood out for us.

Most importantly, we are very happy with the finished home. The quality is good; it has been delivered in accordance with the plans and specifications, and the finished product is what we expected when we started the journey.

navigate all the plans and changes with so much patience and warmth. She was super helpful, attentive to detail, and genuinely lovely to work with. She made the early stages feel smooth and stress-free.

Paul, our finance manager, was equally excellent. He was patient, understanding, and really took the time to help us figure out everything. His calm approach made the complicated parts feel simple, and we genuinely appreciated how supportive he was because money can get complicated.

Moving into the build stage, we felt incredibly lucky to have Camelia and Ben as our team. • Camelia, our Building Support Coordinator, was efficient, organised, and always ready with answers. She kept everything moving and made sure we were informed every step of the way. • Ben, our Building Manager, was an absolute delight. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him. His calming presence, pragmatism, and genuinely positive attitude made a massive difference. He provided frequent photo updates — which we appreciated so much as we couldn’t visit the site often — and his inspections were so thorough that even our independent inspector commented on it.

We always felt like we were in great hands.

Now we’re moving into the after-support stage and, based on our experience so far, we’re hoping the warranty stage is just as good service.

The only small hiccup we had was to do with the Land purchase deposit, being first time builders we assumed because it was a house and land package that meant the “deposit” everyone was talking about was for both (they are not) It turns out it is split. Our conveyancing company sorted it out no problem. If you do go with the “Invest By Metricon” program do not feel obligated to use any of the services they put in front of you. We only used the Broker and they were fantastic. The others just were not competitive at all.

Our biggest tip would be: “Do not try and read the contracts after the kids have gone to bed. You will miss the little things that can be fixed or adjusted really easily if you know about them early. Take the day of and start with fresh eyes and a up of coffee. It will cost you less in the long run to have that day off. It took us both 6 hours to get through them all and we still missed simple stuff that is almost comical (No Extractor fan in the bathroom, no cutlery draw in the kitchen). We just did not even notice we were so sleepy. “

We built new Ipswich, QLD and it took about 7 months but Xmas slowed it down by several weeks at least.

Overall, the “Invest By Metricon” program has exceeded our expectations in every way. If you get a team like the one we had, you’re very, very lucky. Highly recommended! I will happily build with Metricon again.

Near the end, there was an issue with a contractor, but Metricon handled it very well , stuck by me, and achieved a positive outcome. Key handover occurred in February 2025. As of 15 June 2026, Metricon is still refusing to rectify warranty defects that were reported within the defects liability period. Their position appears to be that simply attending the property or inspecting an issue is equivalent to resolving it, which is not acceptable. The tradespeople who have attended… Read more

have generally been professional, and my frustration is not with them. The problem lies with head office, which is refusing to authorise the required works or send trades back to properly complete outstanding repairs.

To make matters worse, several issues that were previously reported and left unresolved are now being incorrectly classified as "new" defects. This is simply untrue and appears to be an attempt to avoid their warranty obligations.

We paid a premium for our home and expected Metricon to honour the commitments set out in the contract and warranty. Instead, we have been met with delays, excuses, and a refusal to properly address legitimate defects that were raised within the required timeframe. This experience has been extremely disappointing and has left us feeling that, once payment was received, customer support and accountability became a low priority.
