Miele S5 Series Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi! How do you open the narrow grey perforated cover, over the third filter, on top, close to the hinges? (Miele S5212)
I mean the grey area between "Miele" and the round speed control: https://cdn.productreview.com.au/resize/listing-picture/974e0be2-8028-31d9-8558-91a162b3fd3e

Thank you so much! I have tried earlier - but when I know where it's supposed to open, it might be easier... Since I live in Norway and randomly found you on google, I guess I might try to find someone closer :P
What did they cost new

when was this model discontinued S5211 300... 2200W
Thank you
I have a problem with the compartment door popping open, it's held together with gaffer tape at the moment. I would like some instructions on repairing this. Cheers
Hi Chris, we apologise for the inconvenience of this however we are unable to answer this question at this time. We would like to resolve this with you, can you please contact us on 1300 464 353 or if you believe your machine needs to be looked at by a Miele technician please book a service call using external link . Kind regards, James. *Note, the above contact information is for Miele Australia only. To contact New Zealand please call 0800 464 353. Hi James, thanks for your answer. I was hoping it was clear that I don't require the assistance of a service technician to fix this. I can see the broken clip, but am unable to find it as a part on your website or any other selling Miele parts (you don't have a lot of parts on your own website). Without this clip, the storage compartment on top of the cleaner for accessories doesn't stay closed - this is a design and build quality fault. The link you sent me seems to be for booking an in-house service call. First of all, I'm in Victoria under stage 4 restrictions. Second, it seems completely ridiculous to book a technician to visit my house to replace a plastic clip. All I want is the replacement part and some tips on replacing it.
Has been a wonderfull cleaner for many years. Was vacuuming today and it cut out. I noticed that the dial was fully red so removed the bag. The bag was so full it was tight like a heavy football. Was able to remove the bag and replace the filter. Turned the power at the power point and turned tried to start the vacuum cleaner but it would not turn on. The dial was still fully red. What should I do to restart it? Have I blown something internally? Is there a reset mechanism?

I got it going again! I think it overheated and cut out. I waited for it to cool down completely and then restarted it and it immediately operated again, thank you.
how many db?
What are they worth second hand?
Is it bag less
Now that this model is discontinued, what new model is closest to this?
What is the price?
Hi Diaa, thank you for your question. You can view our range of vacuum cleaners on our Australian website external link . Kind regards, Miele.
How do you change the power levels?
how to open accessories cover?
where can we buy the bags for the 5211 mielle vacuum cleaner?
Year of manufacture of model S5310?
what bags does this model take? GN or FJM?
Hi, I think it's the GN ones - the blue ones :-)
Can S5211 be fitted with electro brush?
I have both the standard head and the turbo head (with the spinning brush) on mine. if the Electro brush requires a plug in , then no. The Turbo brush is driven by the suction - works really well with dog and cat hair.
Sam as Kathe. I have the turbo brush which works well on cat hair.
Can you still buy this model?
I don't think that particular model is still available. other family members have also purchased one but they had to purchase the updated version (sorry don't have model number)
not sure but the C2 or the C 3 are for sure still on sale and they are just a follow up models with 2000W Look up Miele Cat and Dog but remember they have a special filter which should be changed from time to time.
My daughter brought this vacuum cleaner at the beginning of 2017. We are not sure how old it is. Perhaps they have a new model now.
Godfreys would be a great place to enquire, or even better, a Miele store itself.
has any one out there any Mielle s5211 bags for sale?
please email me [email removed]
How does one remove the dust bag
Wery twicky..remove hose, lift the dust bag container lid, slide the top of the bag upwards and remove...install new bag by sliding top of bag into carriage and then replace FILTERS
My s5311 got clogged up and stopped working. The next day it started ok but making a noise. Any ideas? Thank you.
Mike
Have you changed the filter inside the machine? I also clean out the brushes because sometimes hair and crap gets caught up near the nozzle section. I think if yours is making a noise, I'd ring up Miele or take it to Godfreys to ask them.
Where did it make from? Germany or China?
I believe it's Germany but I'm not 100% sure sorry. Perhaps check the website
Not being mentioned anywhere. A bit strange, isn't it?
It's made in Germany. Check mieleshop.com.au.
Thank you very much, Kerub and JoshAlfie. Finally I found it ... and it is on sale. My friend has a Samsung vac with a similar handle which is very clumsy. What do you think about the "deluxe handle"?
