Miele novotronic w310: On any washing program the machine just repeating fill/drain every 10 sec or so, it seems stuck in this cycle. inlet valve, pump and also drainage, are all working well. It does finish the program eventually. Still on the short wash after 1 hour.

How do I open front door?

when using wool or delicates cycle water comes up through the floor drain and goes everywhere, not when doing cotton loads. Any thoughts please?
Thank you for your question. The water volume is varied in these programmes, with delicate and woolens having higher water level with a gentler wash action. If water is exiting the drain, I would suggest there may be a buildup that requires a cleanse. Miele would recommend running a long cycle on the hottest setting, with nothing in the washer (no clothing and no detergent). This will clear out buildup of detergent within the washer and the drain. Which Miele washing machine has replaced the w310?
Hello our Miele W310 washing machine does leak from under the machine when in a full cycle. It does not do so when we are washing on a quick cycle. I have cleaned the pump and filters and cannot detect any leaking pipes. Does anyone have a suggestion as to why this is taking place?
Get Miele to replace the water inlet to the drum at the top. Over time, the inlet gets loose, water going into the drum doesn't leak but when it spins it forces water out the gap and the out of the machine. A relatively simple fix.

Hi, After our machine has done the "main wash" part of a cycle, and tries to go onto the "rinses" part of the cycle, both the "Rinses" light and the "Anti-crease/finish light" both start flashing, and the machine stops draining and spinning. Nothing happens after that, except for the lights continue to flash. I have tried various things, like turning the machine off, putting the dial back to the "Finish" position, turning the machine on, trying to do a "Drain and Spin" etc, but nothing seems to work. The same lights start flashing. So the machine is ok with the wash part, but stops working when it gets to the rinses. Can you help please? Thanks.
Check your filter down on the left on front panel
Hi Leah, thanks for your suggestion, which I appreciate. I have checked the filter, and cleaned it again (even though I had only done this a couple of weeks before all the trouble started), but it hasn't fixed anything. Did you have this same problem? And did it fix itself up once you cleaned your filter? Any other suggestions? Many thanks for your help.

The flashing ‘Rinses’ & ‘Anti-crease’ LED’s are indicating that there is an issue with the motor driving the W/M drum. The check drain light has come on just now !? Any ideas what it might be!? I have checked the drain hose on the machine & also the drain point were it discharges into & they look all clear
my machine is starting to smell - have done the usual cleaning cycle ie opening drain etc but still smells - what do I do?
Hi Anna, thanks for your question. Miele W310 smelling is caused by a build-up of undiluted detergents, oil, & grease residues. a. Generally occurs with continual washing at temperatures of ‘Cold-40°C’. b. W/M requires a self-cleaning wash using Miele ‘Dishwasher & Washing Machine’ cleaner. c. Then after the self-cleaning, a ‘Cottons 60°C’ should be run to keep the W/M drum clean, and free from build-up. The ‘Cottons 60°C’ can be used to wash towels, sheets, or any clothing that can withstand the wash temp. If no clothing is washed in the cycle, then use ½ measure of the ‘Miele D/W & W/M’ cleaner. How can I reset a program that I selected in error? If I switch off and back on again it just carries on from where it stopped.
Hi Chris, to cancel or select a different program: 1. Switch the washing machine off with the On/Off button 2. Turn the programme selector to finish The programme has now been cancelled. Then switch the machine back on, select a different programme and press the start button. Kind regards, Anna.

When I put a load of washing in to start, it partly fills to start then flashes and then rinse light flashes and is in pause mode?

I have a Novotronic W310. It is "options" buttons that can be used with most cycles - I use the pre-wash a lot but not the others. I want to machine dye some clothing - if I select "soak" what actually happens? I assume the program pauses for a while mid cycle, but for how long? Does it then drain and refill or just continue through the cycle? The instruction manual mentions the soak option but doesn't explain what it is. Anyone know?

Have a Meile Novotronic W310 washing machine. Drum is scraping and making noise on spin cycle. Cost of repairs as machine 13 years old?Trish
Probably need to change suspensions I had it before cost me to fix around 300 not sure how Mach it now but I would buy new one if it happens again
I would scrap it and buy a different (cheaper) brand. (In fact, that is what I did when mine failed at 12 years!)

If it were my machine I would not be spending any money repairing it. After 13 years it does not owe you anything. Invest in a new one. 13 years service is pretty good.

i have a w310 for 16 years. been running perfectly. last night it started making a really bad noise - i turned it off from the wall socket. when i opened the door, some smoke came out. what is the problem?

You did well, I only got 12 years out of mine.
It is impossible to know what is wrong but smoke is bad. Don't waste money on it, I strongly suggest that it is time to buy a new one. After 16 years it owes you nothing.
My W 310 washing machine had a load of washing and it started dancing so violently it was hitting the glass door, I recently changed the glass door and water inlet valve do the drum shocks and springs need replacing or do I need a new washer ??
I had similar problem around 6 years ago and called service to replace shock absorbers cost washer still going well
Sorry George. I don't know the answer. I have always replaced my white goods before the expected end of life. In that way I get something for them secondhand which I put towards a new replacement. The cost of labour in this day and age makes repairs on old equipment not a good investment.
