Hi i have a MTD130/38 where can i get a work shop manual

brian c.

reckon I'll have a shop manual in pdf form for a 46 inch and the smaller yardman - I have both mowers and am just transferring both from one computer to the other - The smaller yardman is a pain because of the way the back drive pulley is mounted - I recently got a new Husqvarna lawn tractor and it leaves the Yardman mowers for dead - Has 2 pedals one for foward and another for reverse - Dont have to use a gear shift - Anyway let me know your email address and i will send the pdf for your model or both mowers - Regards Brian

I took my machine to the dealer/mechanic for a service and change blades and new belts. Theproblem is it wont go forward or backward (gear problem?) took it home but never get to use it as it is winter . its About 5 months and i tried using the machine and it is still wont move and it smells rubber and something is grinding the rubber and the break know is loose. Is it the mechanic should test the machine to make sure its working?

Do you have petrol, have you turned the petrol tap on,is the petrol fresh and clean, are your air filters clean, how is you spark plug, have you disengaged the cutter deck,is it flooding when you are trying......it could be anything, hard to tell without seeing it and having a fiddle with things,is it newer or older. Good luck,I hope you get it going

I have a Yard Machine by MTD 13.5 HP. Unfortunately I have lost the Ignition Key for this mower. The only identification number that I can find is Do7575AC. My home phone number is [ contact detail removed] and my Email address is bernieflanagan7@bigpond.com. My home address is:[address removed]

I would appreciate any assistance in getting me a new Ignition for this Ride-on Mower

Hi there.. I'm pretty sure this is a very common ignition key. Try a mower shop. Cheers, Geoff.

MTD manufactures most of the home owner type mowers in the US. If you have some neighbors that have riding mowers you might borrow a key and try it, just don't force it if it works you have another source for a key.

my mtd blades are stopping after a while while mowing. Any suggestions?

Hi Lisa.. this seems an odd problem.. They start off OK but stop after awhile.. The standard MTD blades are very flimsy and not much good for heavy work.. You can get heavy duty gator blades fitted but this isn't what your problem is. I'd be guessing the blade drive belt is worn or stretched and still works when it is cold and a little clingy. And when it warms up a bit it starts to slip. You can get some spray stuff for slippery belts but probably better to get a new belt if that is what the cause of the problem is. There is also a cable that pulls the belt tight when you move the handle. They usually don't cause a problem like this though.. They usually just snap.. Hope this helps.. Geoff.
