After a year troubleshooting our cutting out after 2 minutes of mowing then half hr waiting to restart, issue finally problem solved took our neighbor 4 odd hrs he cleaned all lines, carb filters and boom shes mowing without stopping. Seems minute crap gets caught making it starve. Good luck with ur mower. If ur in New Zealand i can give u our neighbors number to ask exactly what he did

How do you change the rear drive belt on a 11.5 hp mtd ride on mower and what siZe is the belt?

While I haven't needed to do this myself on my 16.5HP model, here's a good video to demonstrate the procedure: external link  Parts for the various models can be found here: external link

Mtd mower only moves slowly unless I pull the clutch pedal back by hand. Any suggestions?

Without knowing your particular model, I can only advise as pertains to my own machine. The problem you describe is similar to what I encountered after about 3 yrs service. The spring loaded clutch operates an idler wheel (via a cable mechanism) to tighten/loosen tension on the motor drive belt. Refuse can build up behind the release stop which can prevent the idler wheel from tensioning the drive belt properly thus causing slippage & severe belt wear. I think the clutch cable mechanism also has some adjustment to compensate for belt/pulley wear.

Best to get this done by a good Service Centre to ensure it's done properly.
