New Wave 5-in-1 Multicooker NW700 Questions & Answers
Why do I keep getting a PO error when using pressure cooker
I am trying to get a replacement inner bowl for the 5 in 1 multicooker. The email listed in the manual bounced back and the number gone number for customer service in Victoria is disconnected. Has anyone got any ideas on where/if I could get hold of one?
Did you manage to get a replacement bowl - we are after one as well?
Hi, no I never did :(
Looking for the same now. Did you8 get anywhere? or do I have to buy a new one?
I keep getting a PO error when the machine is in pressure cooker mode. Doesn't seem to matter how long I have the timer on for. I'm concerned the machine is not safe.

Do you have the vent open or closed for LOW pressure cooking?
To get the unit pressurised the Pressure Limiter Valve (release knob) MUST be in the Airtight position. This is for both High and Low. [So take care that it doesnt/hasnt spun loosely into the Exhaust /vent position from where it cannot build pressure and will just keep releasing steam. (learned the hard way!) (My "airtight" and "exhaust " indicators soon rubbed off, but the Pressure Release Limiter Knob "pointer" should face frontwards NOT backwards (ie 180 degrees from the arrow near the vent.) see also here for online manual external link
Where can I find a list of error codes?
Google is usually good place to try. eg error code for product / model and add specific code too
Can I get another instruction manual & how please?

How to fry fish?
Hi, I have a new wave 5 function cooker that I LOVE, but recently, I will put it in airtight mode to cook a soup fast, but the valve doesn't drop down, so once it reaches boiling, steam starts coming out. I have jiggled it around and once it worked, but generally, it won't. Is this something I can fix myself? Can you take the lid off and put it in the dishwasher? Thanks for your comment.
The steam coming out sounds like normal... it has to release /adjust repeatedly as needed until the correct pressure for your recipe can be maintained. I find that the more liquid in the pot the longer that takes. This is true for all the electric PC that I have used. (Of course without seeing the issue, its hard to know whether it's "normal" or whether it was not. Jiggling int is a bad idea and definitely shouldn't be needed!
Also the lid IS removable - there is an instruction that u may have missed in the manual / guide. Basically, open the lid, tilt it a little towards yourself to slide it off to your left. It goes back on the same way. (Expect that to be tricky the first few times...I discovered this accidentally months later when it actually fell off by itself when i was cleaning it. I was happy then mad that there was "no instruction" ...but there WAS!)
Are you serious? I asked this question 1 year ago. Sorry, but that is really slack customer service. In the meantime, the valve has not rectifyed itself and as much as I loved this product when it WORKED, I will be looking at other brands to replace it.
who stocks this item?

is the insert(what u cook in) completely stainless steel and not teflon or other coating. Also does it cook quick like a pressure cooker? Thanks.
The Teflon coated insert comes with it (as I understand). The stainless steel insert is purchased separately. It's the only insert we use (free Teflon one available if anyone could use it - get in touch). Works beautifully, so issues with cleaning.
There is a high pressure function so yes, can do quick cooking like pressure cooker, or slow cooking.
Thank you for the reply, I don't want one that u have to purchase the stainless steel insert separately, I was wanting one with the stainless steel insert complete..
The stainless steel come wirh the purchase. So use get 2 inner pots. Best price is from Dick Smith online.
The pressure limiting valve has a sloppy seating and the instruction book barely describes it use. Is this normal? Pam
In my review I said Woefull instructions not Wunderfull
The pressure valve sits loosely in housing and can be turned to allow steam or to contain pressure. We've cleaned around ours which helped when needing to contain pressure.
It appears to sit loosely as part of the pressure control design..... Mine has neither self released nor changed its setting position during a cook. As an aside, however, I did confuse the positions initially, and had to contact Support, as I mistook the selector handle to be for lining up to the desired position...so was venting instead of sealing ... Like another reviewer, the painted on positions for vent seal have now totally rubbed off...
I tried the slow cooking function the other day and the instruction manual said to 'cook with the lid closed but keep the exhaust valve open'. How do I do that? The manual doesn't say at all. In fact, the exhaust valve isn't even listed in the diagram with all the parts. The manual only mentions a pressure limiting valve and a floating valve.
Also, does anyone know the cooker went to the Keep Warm function long before the food was ready?I had it on High Pressure. I tried re-setting it and waited for about five minutes before re-starting, but again it went to keep warm after only about 5-7 minutes.
I sauteed some onions and stuff before switching to the pressure cook function and some of the stuff had burned on the bottom of the pan (I'm using the stainless steel bowl, not the non-stick one). Could this be the reason?
I found my lid very difficult to close, too.I had to wiggle it for ages before it finally went back to the closed position.
I guess because I didn't read in detail because the manual i didn't notice this discrepancy but yes they are referring to leaving the pressure valve open on slow cook weird isn't it how the lid can slip into place and then sometimes not, deep breathing and counting to 5 slowly is recommended
using the stainless steel bowl means you have to keep a close eye on the browning it is thin stainless not something you would usually use on the stove top to brown meat or onions keep a close eye on it and remember it continues to heat some time after you turn that setting off , I add the other ingredients and stir so they are not sitting on the bottom.
But your real worry is why it changed to a keep warm setting before finishing a function can't help you there it sounds like a fault.
Did it resolve? Was it a fault? My thought is that it switched down BECAUSE overheated / lack of fluid. Remember that it has safety sensors to guide its operations and either the level of fluid / moist food was too low in the bowl - (less likely but does happen), and most likely as suggested, the base with the burnt on bits was causing overheating at that position and so causing the sensor to shut down the heating. Stirring, as suggested previously, probably solved the issue..
I gave up with this machine and bought the Philips All-in-One and have never looked back
