95 year old mothers phone was until recently answering calls when the flip was opened. Now, when opened, it goes to a menu page. In settings, it is set to Flip to Answer. Any clues to get it to answer when opened? Thanks, Greg

Turn off flashing green light on front of Opel for seniors mobile

peterv52
peterv52

A flashing green light usually means you have a new text message or missed call. Reading your messages will turn it off.

Bob

I agree with Peterv52. The green light is telling us we have messages and, dealing with the message(s) is the only way to get rid of flashing green light.Go to messages or missed calls.

After 6 months limited use, my FlipPhone 6 doesn't react to someone trying to ring me. When this happens the caller has also tried with an alternative phone - same non result my end. Turning the Flip Phone 6 off & then on solves the issue for a few days. I don't have the phone on silent. There is no warning that calls suddenly won't come through. Help please?

Bob
Bob

Are you sure you haven't turned the volume control off? It's easily done as the button is located on the top left-hand side/

Dave W
Dave W

Thanks Bob, No I definitely haven't turned the volume off. When someone lets me know they have not got a ringing from a call to me, I turn the phone off & then on and all is well for a few days

How do you stop the phone making the 'police siren' when you activate the SOS function? I just need it to send a message to my emergency contacts. I don't need it to pretend it's an ambulance.

Bob

Sorry, Tee Mart, I don't have this feature on my flipphone but, how about turning the phone off or contacting your supplier?

Bob

Have you contacted the supplier Lisa? If it's Opel themselves, Rhia is very helpful or Mum isn't pressing the right button when she calls. When it rings, all she has to do is open the phone.

Hi Cindy, The top left hand button will access all functions such as phone book missed calls etc. Just scroll down to se all options. It's not a smart phone so no additional functions just whsts built in. Hope this helps.

Bob

Hi Cindy. This gaused me some ptoblems, initially but, my advice is to email Rhia and ask her to call you and she will talk you through----it's a lttle complex as the manual can be misleading. Hope this helps.

Purchased OpelFlipPhone 6 a couple of days ago. Working okay at first. Now it does not ring or show any sign of incoming calls. I caannot even find the Settings page. Would not reccommend this phone. Will be taking it back for a refund

Steven Whelan
Steven Whelan

If you got it from Office Works, you get 30 days to try it out and can take it back if not happy within that time. Maybe other retailers also give this, but wouldn't know that for sure. I would rate these Flip 6 phones as in the poorly made junk category, made in U-Kno-where, with a higher than acceptable rate of poor performance. Mine was working ok about 5 months ago when I bought it, but now the keypad is getting more and more difficult to use - it is literally a long-winded physical effort just to compose a one page text these days.

Steven Whelan
Steven Whelan

PS, it took me a long time to find where all the pages were. If you select the left Menu button, it goes to Messages page. From there you use the Up Down arrows to move between pages; Messages, Sound Profiles, Settings, Files, etc etc

Thanks Steven. Spent literally hours yesterday figuring it all out

Solved problem myself! What a learning curve. Life today is so stressful

Steven Whelan

I had the same problem and complained to Opel Customer Service. They said to do a Factory Reset which I didn't want to do. I solved it by turning the phone off, leaving off for 10min, then turning back on again. This phone is getting worse in several ways since I bought it 7 months ago.

Opel 6 flip phone is continuously call failing during phone calls. No buttons are touched or pushed. New phone. No other phone we have had has ever done this before so it’s not a network area issue

luminair
luminair

This hasn't happened to me. Is your phone under warranty? If so I'd be returning it asap. Btw I mainly use my phone for text messages, as I also have a landline that I prefer to talk on.

PDP

Yes it is and they have said there is nothing wrong with it.

Steven Whelan

If you asked this question 17 hours ago then what you are describing is probably related to the Optus technical problems being, or were being, experienced nationwide. If it was well before then, then it's either the network or the actual phone. Probably the latter: - made in china to a budget is a big factor. It usually means a higher rate of problems on the low end equipment. You get what you pay for is mostly a good rule of thumb. Even though they are infinitely better than the horrible "Lite" phone models, these are still low end phones. For me, like Luminar above, I also mostly use it for texting and hardly ever for calls, preferring a landline.

However, the telecommunications "network" is not a nice cut and dried piece of hardware. It has countless millions of jobs to do every second so it can't be seen as a totally reliable entity.

PDP
PDP

It’s a Telstra pre paid plan so not Optus related. I’m actually asking on behalf of my 87 year old mail her inlaw who does not use it for text, or data. Just calls only. We did not know she bought this phone. If we knew she was buying a new one we would of gone with her! Anyway it’s 10 weeks old nothing but trouble and is going back tomorrow. It cuts out 3 sometimes 4 times during the call we have to call back! Not good if she needs to call 000! It’s the phone not the network cause my father in-laws phone is fine!

Before I smash this thing, how do I STOP or DE-ACTIVATE the alarm from going off at all? I know I can take the battery out but why should I have too. I work shift work and have to leave it in the car after night shift so I can sleep. PLEASE!

Bernd
Bernd

Go in menu select Clock then Alarm by pushing menu batten again you can switch alarm on or off again if you still have problems removing the battery will not change the settings only a factory reset can help i think this will solve your problems.
