Lovely looking heater. Warms the house well. Doesn't burn overnight as promised. Lucky to get 6-7 hours per fully stocked load. Thus no saving 1-2 ton of wood per year as advertised. Fan is also very noisy.

Hi, We purchased a Neo1.6 and find that the air flow is too low. Cleaned the flues so all good but looks like something is blocking the airflow. Did anybody remove the round air inlet at the back? Thanks, Bo.

Hi Bo - I removed the pre-cut ring out the back which should assist in airflow from the rear. But be mindful that this air needs to come from somewhere, and if your house is pretty well sealed as most new ones are… it could still struggle to get enough airflow from inside the house. It will have to replace that air with air from outside your home, which will be through tiny gaps under doors, window frames etc. It will then literally cause cold drafts as cold air from outside comes in to replace the air drawn in for combustion. I actually put an outside air kit into the rear - and it has made a huge difference. Plenty of airflow into the fire, and no drafts at all. Although this may not be possible depending on your firebox’s location to an external wall.

Thanks Dion, just behind the stove is an outside vent I had build in the wall when building the house. So no low pressure inside the room and cold air coming in through small openings. I solved the problem, being a soot covered screen I had put in the hat against blowflies getting in over summer. Totally forgot that it was there. Everybody happy!

Any one out there that thinks "ash trays" are of no to little use? Nice little metal bucket and small shovel a better choice

I love my 1.6 but I don't use the ash pan. The spring is too tight and even got stuck open one time creating too much air flow to firebox. I think the ash pan is useless in this stove.

I have had other stoves where the ash pan was wonderful. Quadrafire.

Are they worth the money

Definitely worth the money. So much better design than other models I've used. So much less dust & smoke in the house.

Have you had a fire place before

Great looking unit with the coloured side panels.Heats well for its size but ash removal by the trap door and pan is a waste of time. Logs laid lengthwise tend to roll out the door and laid across they do not fit in standard lengths, a bit of a toy firebox in my opinion.I have had numerous wood fires and this one probably works better than most but as with all of them there are faults. To be honest I should have bought the larger model even though it would have been more heating than needed.
