What is the updated replacement for the NN ST671S?
Personally I wouldn't buy one. Rust in the cavity after a couple of years normal use... Nope. I'd try another brand
Any suggestions.
Try getting one with an off-white enamel like finish inside instead of a metallic painted finish. The latter is a cheap finish and prone to failure with rust forming.

I had I : NN-ST671S For over a year. Now when I try to use it it does not work. Display and timer works fine. May be a fault with inverter. Is this a known issue with this model?
Hi SDP, please contact us on 132600 to book a service call, we aren't able to diagnose the fault here or over the phone, we will need someone to physically assess the unit to determine the fault.
I have had this Panasonic NNST671S for 1.5 years (purchased from Appliances Online). Lately when I press the start button, the turntable sometimes wouldn't move (no sound at all) while the time on display board still goes normally. Does anyone know what the problem is?
Hi EY, have you confirmed there is nothing caught underneath the turntable and that it is free to spin? Also check each of the wheels spin. If that is all ok please contact us on 132600 for further assistance.
Display works on Panasonic NNST671S, but once I press the start button, it trips my power board. It’s just been more than a year. Does anyone know what’s the problem?
Thanks

Same problem here.
we cannot see the digits in the window display-can you tell us the problem
If the display goes out partially, the display board is more commonly at fault. If the display isn’t working at all, either the main control board or the display board could be at fault.

Hi Cate, is there no display, or are they difficult to see? You will find with the LED displays they aren't as bight as your previous microwave.
I have a Panasonic NN-st671s, and every time we trying to use the microwave while using wifi, it interferes the wifi. I also put in my mobile phone in the microwave and it turns out it did receive signals. So i would like to ask is this a possible design flaw? Or is there leakage of the microwave?
Hi. We have wifi around the house and on our phones and it does not affect our microwave or it’s function. I hope this answers your question.
Hi Pringles, Thank you for your query. 1. The operating frequency of a microwave oven is about 2.4 GHz this is the same as the wi-fi in most houses. It is recommended that the microwave oven and wi-fi router should not be in the same room as some interference may result.
2. Using the mobile phone for a test in the microwave is not a test as the phone will work. All testing of microwave ovens must be done in accordance with Australian Standards and with specialist equipment that is calibrated every year.
H97 appears in the display window, any idea why?
Hi Troy, this is a fault code. Please contact our customer service team on 132600 and they will provide you with details of your nearest Authorised Service Centre.
What type of light is in oven. LED or incandescent
Incandescent and not enough watts either as it is difficult to see what is in the oven.
I guess they will use leds in the future - I whished mine had leds.
Also the digital display is not bright enough and hard to read in brightly lit areas.
Sorry Ted, I have no idea how to tell the difference. I've just had a thorough look through the instruction book and it doesn't state what type of light it is.
I have a Panasonic mn-st671s and smoke started coming out of it after my son in law used it to reheat his coffee, it was a electrical burning smell and the machine is only 18 months old.
Has anyone else ever had this happen to them?
Yes. Our microwave oven worked well for some time and then it started to make a loud noise, smoke, burning smell and also visible sparks inside when running. It was the 'magnatron' burning out (it is the device which makes the microwaves).
If you have an extended warranty no prolem but if not then contact Panasonic and complain.
Thank you
I will contac Panasonic as it is only 12 month warranty
Can I use the clock as a timer?
I don't have this microwave any more as it has now been replaced and I unfortunately I never needed to use the timer, but I looked up the book that came with it and according to this you can use the Timer as a "Kitchen Timer", and "To Set Standing Time" and "To Set Delay Start" for up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds. Hope this helps answer your question.
I have door problem and cooling down problem, have taken to the service center three times and still does not work properly. Can anyone help?
I could not shut my door without having to slam it shut. I went to the Good Guys Marion Adelaide and the shop assistant gave me some wax / glycerin type substance and a cotton bud and told me to rub it into the moving catches that attach to the main frame of the microwave, and into the hole where the catches go. This has made the door much easier to close and it seems to be heating the food first go without the previous problems I had. Unfortunately the microwave is designed to cool down and as far as I am aware there is no way of stopping the cooling action.
The safety cutout door switch on all m/w ovens is a common faulty item. Sometimes the repair agents have updated parts because it is a known problem. I worked on them for years as an authorised repair agent. The after cooking cooling function is a 'feature' of the inverter system. Early Panasonic inverter m/w had problems with the inverter high power transistors 'cooking' as they suffered from 'heat soak' after the oven cooling fan stopped at the end of cooking, and then the transistors failed from overheating. Panasonic programmed in a 'cooling cycle' in all newer units to prevent premature inverter switching transistor failure. In older systems, there was a repair kit from Panasonic with better transistors and a larger heatsink as just replacing the transistors with the same part resulted in the unit failing again in a month or two. I fitted the new kit to a 'dead' Genius Inverter m/w I got for free, and it's been working for 12 years now, with just a replacement globe needed.
Just bought a Brand New Panasonic Microwave Model NN-ST671S, I set to reheat the food for 1min. then I stop after 40sec. I then want to reheat another food but the light would not turn on. What shall I do?
Try pressing the Reset button and then set reheat again. Hope that works. If the light remains on after resetting, you may have to contact Panasonic or your Retailer.
