Is this a reliable mower. Will it do the job on rough scrubby grass, we have a bush block.
Hi mate, yes i believe it will. It has excellent power and it cuts extremley neatly! we have a 1 acre block that can get scrappy if not kept on top of, and it churns through it with ease. its a really good mower for the price. I was originally going to get a Cub Cadet RZTS-46 - but couldn't get one in a timely manner so settled for this and have not regretted it one bit.
thanks
Hi all, I'm after a review for this mower. The area being mowed often has around shin height, is on a slopping degree of approx 10deg, and does have some rough patches. Our previous mowers would cope with the long grass but the mower deck belt would quite often come off if the cutting height was set too low, especially on the sloping areas. Is this mower going to suit our needs by the information above. Thanks in advance
Leanne, The issue you identify, the belt coming off, is most likely a combination of the terrain and the adjustment of the height of the deck. It is most likely that you need to change the mowing deck height during the mowing process as needs be, I do this myself when Mowing at an angle. I do mow in parts a 10° slope. In fact it’s a little bit more than 10°. So my comment is that with appropriate operation of the ride on mower as you mow, Making adjustments to the deck height as required, it should be possible to move your area effectively.
However, As I have no knowledge of the specifics of your location or specifics of the block itself, just how rough it is, slippery or Uneven I would suggest going to a reputable mowing shop which has a range of mowers and discuss specifics with them, noting my comments above. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your reply Mark
Does this mower spray grass all over the place (ie up the windows) or will it shoot cut grass into rows for easy raking and removing?
The mower does not spray grass all over the place e.g. what it does do is sprays the grass out at the height of the exit guide thus spreading it over the ground surface Over a area about a metre or so, it low at ground level.
You can buy a mulching kit that means no grass is actually blown out by the exit guide As a plug is inserted in that and special mulching blades chop the grass into tiny tiny bits that fall back into the grass as the mower moves along.
You can also buy a catcher kit for the mower which catches all the grass cut in bags which hang from the back of the mower if you want absolute grass collection like a good handheld mower provides in terms of grass catcher and distribution.
In practice I find the distribution of the grass using the standard side exit is more than satisfactory and I simply move away from building edges etc to avoid any buildup of grass against any walls or edge, it’s pretty simple, they are great mowers which do a really good job of cutting the grass neatly and cleanly once you develop your cutting technique in terms of driving the mower to work in the area that you are cutting they are outstanding, that process for me took about two occasions before I figured out the best way to do it to achieve an outstanding result. I do have a mulching kit but I have not fitted it as I found I didn’t need it.
No course not ,it cuts and sorts all the little grass cuttings into neat little rows, so after you enjoy a tofu omelette, with a soy macchiato with ya mates, you can sort them into your industrial sized manfukkinbag and be at peace with the world and be confident of a long and prosperous life.
