Saeco Syntia Questions & Answers
VerifiedHow to factory reset a Saeco Syntia HD8833?
I have an issue with my Saeco Syntia machine. The LED display screen seems to powwer up but there are no display icons. Is it possible to reset / reboot the screen??
Hi, my Saeco Syntia has a water problem - I press the brew button and water comes leaking out from underneath the machine - it doesn't even make it to the brew unit (dry coffee grinds are dumped into the discard tray). I have ensured the water tank is properly inserted and have descaled.
Thanks
Hello My syntia hd8838 dont go out from cleaning mode How can i stop this function? Thank you
I cannot get my automatic descaling to work properly (HD8833). After I have filled the water with descaling solution, I press the two brew buttons for 3 seconds as the manual suggests, but instead of the descaling light blinking, the machine dispenses coffee.
Sorry but can't help as several years since I had that machine. I'd try and Reset the machine as per the instructions then re-try.
I have a HD8837/03 and the steamer has stopped working. The pump is working , steam can be see escaping around the side access door. Thanks
I can't help with the technical bits but I still have our Saeco Syntia which worked really well except for imperfect grinding and I've moved on to a new machine. You're welcome to have it if you can collect it in inner Sydney. Best regards. Lionel C

I replaced the pump because after running the diagnostic it showed the pump was not working. NOW, I realize the power does not reach the pump. The machine turns on. The brewing motor works. The pump DOES NOT. I checked with a sensor and the electric power is not reaching the pump. What can I do ? Which part do I need to change now ?

Hi there, My Synthia repeatedly gives the "no beans" symbol, even though it is clearly full of beans. I know it is grinding them because it produces coffee grinds that than need to be discarded, but no coffee is produced. It used to happen periodically but now I've tried 5 times in a row without any coffee output. I tried giving it a good clean + descaling, but still nothing. Any help?
Dear Daniella, Thank you for sharing your experiences with your Saeco Syntia. We regret hearing that it keeps giving the 'no beans' signal, even though we think you've maintained it correctly. We can understand that this must be frustrating. Therefore, we'd like to take a closer look at what's going on exactly. Could you reach out to our customer service team for further assistance ? Is there a reset button on the Seaco focus? My machine does not power on
Hi Linda, Thank you for sending us your query. If your coffee machine does not turn on, we kindly ask you to follow the troubleshooting tips below: Main switch on the back is not set to ON Most of our Philips/Saeco espresso machines have a switch you can turn ON and OFF. It is located on the back of the machine. Ensure that this switch is set to ON when you want to use it.
The power cord is not well connected Make sure that the power cord is inserted correctly into the machine and into a live power outlet. If this is still not working, try another power outlet.

My machine is displaying a Red Spanner with #3. I have cleaned and greased the brew group completely, any suggestions?? - I really need a coffee ;)
The Operating Instructions State: Turn the machine off . After 30-seconds, turn it back on. Try 2 or 3 times. IMHO: I would try to prime the machine also, when you press the power button, try turning the main dial to make hot water, this might help. Otherwise, the instructions suggest speaking with Saeco.
Hi Kelly, thanks for your question. If the code E03 appears on your Saeco machine, the brew group contains too much dirt and cannot work properly. Rinse the brew group to solve the issue. Follow the cleaning instructions below:
Switch OFF the machine and wait until it is completely off and no longer makes any noises (this takes about 15-20 seconds) Open the service door and remove the brew group by pressing the “PUSH” button to the right-hand side, holding it and pulling it towards you Rinse the brew group thoroughly with lukewarm water and let it air-dry before placing it back
We hope this solves the issue with your Saeco Syntia! Should you require further assistance, don't hesitate reaching out to us by phone (1300 363 391 for AU, 0800 658 224 for NZ). There, we’d be happy to assist you further.

We have accidentally placed about a tablespoon of beans into the 'ground' location of the Phillips Saeco Syntia - how do we remove those beans?
Remove the group head and they should fall out. The powdered coffee and/or beans fall down into the group head. Just give it a good shake or clean it like you're supposed to on a weekly basis.
THANKS!!!
