Ive had my A22 for a little over a year, with no issues but now i need help. the home screen is stuck saying "phone is starting" and will not load the apps, i can get into settings but only some of them work , ive tried everything except factory reset but that will erase my pics so i it says!! ive been through all the other resets now just trying to let the battery drain to see if that kicks it, any other suggestions would be helpful ?
Hey, usually issues like this are fixed with a factory reset. If you're going for a restart could also help jump start the device, however I would highly suggest taking it into one of our Samsung stores to get it looked at. If this issue is solved, I would suggest backing up your device when you can, and taking it into a store for them to run tests or book in for assessment just in case the issue does not occur twice.
Hope this helps!

Do we really need nfc anyway?
Hey mrrsdec, NFC is a method of wireless data transfer that allows smartphones, laptops, tablets and other devices to share data when in close proximity. NFC technology powers contactless payments via mobile wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay, as well as contactless cards. With the above reason we definitely need NFC as it's essential the way our electronics work and co-operate with advancements.

So why is my AS22 5G not NFC COMPATIBLE
Do you have the an A22 or S22?
Gilbert Samsung AU
I have an A22 5G
The A22 5G and other alike were built to be for simple use. Simple use meaning , no nfc, not many smart phone features that exist in the premium line may be present on these phone. Hence they are at the affordable price. To pay using your device would not be possible due to no nfc, no you would carry your card and money with you to avoid that gap.
Is there any way to make my Galaxy A22 5G NFC compatible I just think it's false advertising when they do not tell you that it does not have any NFC build into the phone especially in this modern world that we live in it is so handy to have it other than that it is a pretty good phone the camera works fine it has good connectivity and the camera works fine I took good photos of the moon last night
Hey Mark, thank you for the feedback. As per our product page, the A22 device does not support NFC. We hope you understand.

The issue is that other countries have NFC. e.g. external link Just not AUSTRALIA. Given most users will google reviews / articles, and also given the bulk of those come from outside Australia, e.g. the UK, consumers may not check their country specific website, if the website linked in the review is from the country of the reviewer.
That aside, Is there a reason that NFC is disabled in Australia?
google talk instructions wont work

Hey Max! If you're experiencing troubles with any of the features on your device. We suggest submitting logs as an error report on an app called Samsung Members. Our team will be able to analyse diagnostic data and will be able to advise on how to best proceed with the issue. You can download this app via the Galaxy app store if you already don't have this on your phone. I've provided a link below on how to raise an error report once the app is downloaded. It is best to submit this within 2-3 minutes of the issue occurring.

Has anyone successfully connected Bluetooth to their hearing aids with the Samsung A22 4G? If so, which brand and model of hearing aids.
The Samsung Galaxy A22 is an absolute piece of garbage! I bought one in February 2022. Before the end of May 2022, the battery had swollen, wouldn't charge, and the phone would not turn on. Smart piece of money-grubbing engineering that! Making the batteries only replaceable by a technician. You can no longer just pop the back off and replace the battery yourself. It was completely useless by this point and I could not replace the battery. The phone lasted less than 3 months. What a piece of garbage. I bought a Motorolla and seeing how that goes. All good so far and it has been 3 months, so it has already outlasted the Samsung.
Not an answer to my question and I'm generally very happy with my phone but appreciate your effort.
We realised after purchasing an A22 Samsung phone that it has no NFC (ability to use Googlepay). Is there some way the phone can be added to enabling us to use this phone tap convenience.?
No. I contacted Samsung recently on the subject because I noticed a gragh that showed NFC on the phone. Samsung said sorry but NFC is not part of A22. They want you to buy a more expensive phone.
Thank you Mark for your reply. We asked Optus and even our Bank and no one could come up with an answer why the phone would not work on EFTPOS machines. We noticed in a review that NFC wasn't available on the A22 but did not know what that meant at the time. NOW WE DO. We live and learn.
Actually, NFC is available on the cheaper model (A13 5G) also. Just not the A22 for some reason.
Since I bought this new galaxy A22 the camera never worked well. All the times I want to take a picture I have to ask to someone else because as soon as I open the camera, the display turns black and the phone turn off. I have to restart the phone a few times before I can take the pic ...someone knows why and what should I do? The phone is new I also tried to clean the cache but it didn't work
My A22 5g camera works fine. Click and shoot. Sounds like a power/ battery problem.
My camera works awesome so does phone itself just no NFC...thanks for the info :)
How to enable Nfc On A22 4g
My side button is stuck and difficult to turn on and off and what is a NF something reviews say thus device does not have. So disappointed side button defect with my purchase from local post office. Also my partner and I have no assistance to set up new devises
NFC. Yes its wonderful having reviewers knocking a phone for not having NFC yet not explaining what it stands for!! Its near field communication. Basically if you're uneasy with the man behind you in the queue scamming your bank details as you pay at the checkout using your phone, then it won't matter to you that this phone doesn't support NFC!
You can add fingerprint unlock or similar to only Activate NFC when being used. If you use Samsung Pay, then this is the default setting.
Hey Karen, To fix your issue, please take your device to the nearest Samsung Authorized Service Centre and you will be assisted there accordingly. NFC is indeed Near-field communication as mentioned by Tony. I'd suggest taking it to the nearest Centre to help with setting up devices as the post office would only act as a selling point.
If you need help with locating a Centre, please let us know.
Thank you,

Can someone please tell me is there any way this phone can enable contactless payments, ie Afterpay, Steppay etc. If not, I will be taking it back. Thanks, Merilyn.
I would like to know too is it a app to download
There is no contact less payment for this device ! I have one too and I'm debating Wether or not to return it .
You are right and should go and give it back! I went back and made them swap for another one that did. The more people that take them back and complain the better, this phone is useless for the modern age!!!
How can I get my text messages to give me a repeated notification until I check it. My old Samsung S5 did ?
I'm not sure you can , can't say I've ever heard of that !
Unless price of garbage. Can't believe in this day a new phone doesn't have contactless payment ability. Worst purchase ever. Have always has Samsung phones. Was tossing up getting an iPhone but went Samsung. Will be swapping asap and never coming back!
Agreed. I have stopped using mine, and gone back to my two year old Samsung instead!
I totally agree. The most disappointing handset I've own. I had a Motorola 5200 as my first Digital handset since 1995, gone through almost every Nokia handset and have been a confirmed Samsung handsets but the A22 is a dog can not wait to get rid of it.
I agree and are in disbelief like already said, in the 21st century, Covid environment, heading towards a cashless society and this NEW phone Samsung A22 HAS NO NFC enablement!!!! Was most embarrassing when I couldn't pay for my dental bill with AfterPay or Steppay!!! What a piece of crap. I will be taking it back to get another model and wanting a discount!!! Dumb move Samsung!!!!
I have just received my new Samsung galaxy A22, this phone is faulty I'm sure as you can't enter password, asks to double tap icons ect, it won't even turn off or restart, after double tapping, any body had similar issues
