Samsung Galaxy S7 (2016) Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPNs: 36225309, 36225310, KHSGS732BLK and 7 moreOkay, Firstly I'm trying to understand how the release date of the Galaxy S7 is 2016? I have now owned two S7 and that was a few years before the day my daughter was born I'm 2013, so tell me how can the Flagship device that I hold in my hand whilst asking this question only have cane our 4 years ago?
Sorry I'm unable to translate gibberish!
Hey Bert, if you’re having issues identifying your device, you can open Settings > about phone to locate the model code. If you can provide the model code, I’m happy to look further into this for you.

Will Samsung ever release a software update to take the Galaxy S7 back to the great phone it used to be before all of the software updates over the last 18 months that have diminished usability OR is this an underhand tactic used by Samsung to get people to buy a new phone. After my experience with S7 software updates I'll probably buy a new phone BUT it won't be made by Samsung!
Hi Golly, we’re sorry to hear that the new software does not meet your expectations. Unfortunately, you are unable to revert back to any previous update, as each update modifies the security in your phone. If you are experiencing difficulties with your S7, we recommend taking your device to the nearest service centre so we can take a look at this for you.

Oh thanks Jo. As I live 500km from your nearest service centre I do not see this as an option. I would like Samsung to revert back to options and layouts on the phone as they were when I purchased it. I'm sure Samsung can still handle 'security' if they did this. It seems when pressed to fix their lousy software updates Samsung claim the updates are "for security reasons" when the updates contain a lot more change than just security patches. Samsung need to give users a more detailed description of what software updates actually contain and how they will change phone usability so users can make an informed choice as to whether they wish to proceed with update.
You are unable to revert back to a previous update, Golly as mentioned above. Just to let you know, if you can't get to one of our Service Locations - you also have the option to drop it off at your local Australia Post office. For more information, please see below:

Joanne - why would i want to send my phone to Samsung?? My issue is with how Samsung hijacks the worth and usability of their already sold phones through clumsy software updates. There is no issue about the hardware as demonstrated by 4 stars in my original post. I realise you are only responding to my complaints/posts because many eyes look at productreview.com to get other people's experiences with products. I'm just warning others of what to expect when you buy any Samsung smart phone. Buyer beware!
How do I store photos vìdeoes etc on only one app on my Samsung galaxy 7edge?
Hey Barbara, we recommend for you to view your files on the My Files app. This app enables you to view the files stored on your microSD card as well as the internal storage on your device.

Up until a few days ago, when i took a screenshot on my sg7 icons would appear on the bottom of the screen asking me things like crop, save etc. These have vanished and no longer show when i take a screenshot. Can i get them to show again? Did settings change? What should the settings be on for these to show? Can someone please offer some assistance. Thanks.
You are able to edit your screenshots by accessing the images through your Gallery. If you are experiencing any further difficulties with your device, we do recommend taking your device to the nearest service centre so we can take a look at this for you.

Still waiting to find out where i can purchase a genuine samsung charger... or can't i?
Still looking to buy a genuine samsung charger to replace the one that caught fire... From samsung's lack of assistance (aside from a blank link), am i right to assume they don't know where i can get a replacement?? They don't know hpw to get notes/messages off a phone onto a readable system such as a pc!
Hi J, just to let you know, we have sent a reply to your private message. We recommend for you to keep an eye on your inbox.

When taking a landscape-position photo, should the white dot be on the left or the right side?
I have it on the right side, makes it much easier to manouver when taking photos
thanks!
Hi Jennifer, this is purely user choice! But generally the white capture button is on the right side for most people, however if you are left handed then just flip the phone over so that the button is left. Personal choice, for the best result! :-)

Jennifer do not pay any attention to phil as he would not know his head to his rear end, like all in Samsung. Throw it in the bin or use as a paper weight as that is all there good for, saying is you can not polish and old turd like Samsung products are
Hi.
Does anyone know how to transfer memos from the samsung g7 to a pc or usb? I've tried to email them out but they just send to samsung documents or are unable to be opened IF they do email out of phone.
I need to transfer them off the phone and be able to access and read them.
Can anyone please help me?
Hi there, if you hold onto the specific note you wish to transfer, and hit the share button located at the top right, you will be able to choose between a SDOC version or a PDF version, in this case a PDF version will be most suitable and you'll be able to view that on your PC, alternatively you can copy the entire note, and paste it into an email.
Hi. Thanks for your reply but the samsung galaxy s7 does not have SDOC or PDF options (or any similar) show when tapping on share. Options of how to share -email, hangouts, bluetooth etc- are the only things there. The phone does not allow me to send the memos out in emails any more. It used to allow me to but then stopped and changed to adding the memos as attachments that i could not open, and it won't allow me to copy the memos at all so i cannot copy and paste them either.
Hi. I'm still looking for a way to transfer the memos on my sg7 to a usb or an sd card so i can read them on a pc. Still can't email them out. Thanks.
Hi, we just wanted to check up with you to see whether you were able to share memos from your Samsung Notes app. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions.
Jo Samsung AU
No, i have not been able to transfer my memos/notes from my phone because no-one knows how to do it, including Samsung 'technicians'. What is the point of asking Samsung questions when each person from the company has a different answer and they are all incorrect?
Just to let you know, I have sent you a PM requesting for more information. When it's most convenient for you can you please send that through?

How can i put phone so no one sees phone number?
brad cannot be done on a Samsung turd , but if you wish to hide your number simple way is #31# then the number you want to call.
Not true at all green reaper, it can be done on the S7 and all other devices without using silly little #31# by going into the call app and going to the call settings in here you will find more settings click on that and you will see Show my caller ID. No device will ever need you to put a #number# before the number you want to call.
Anyones phone updated to this newer Nougat operating system variation of Android. Has changed everything I knew about my phone I first bought knew and loved and I hate it. It has made my phone suck now. Before all my contacts were easy to read had a nice green background. Now it is a boring looking background with smaller writing and its hard to see. How I wish software developers would shove their unwanted changes. Anyone else had and experience like this that they hated forced upon them without their permission?
yes, pretty annoying, would be nice if we were given a choice. I preferred the old system of Favourite Contacts, where you could arrange them in the order that suited you on their own screen, whereas now they're just filed in alphabetical order. Pretty annoying, as my most used Favourite Contact's name doesn't start with A!!!
I'm with you there, why they feel the need to change everything. Before I could manually change the light exposure on the camera with a simple finger slide (after touching the screen), now we have to go thru a series of menus.
Is anything better???!!! I think the phone's working a little faster, not convinced that the Calendar layout is any better than the old one.....
Still battling with it. I miss my old green screen when showing the contacts and bigger letters and more bold. Seems to be a major unwanted update. Have accidently wiped all of my contacts because of how different and bland it looks. Probably shouldve done a restet on it when I did that but was afraid of what else I might lose
The update on my S6 made it into the updated S7 with the harder to read , less contrast. Less obvious search box in contacts. In the S7 there is no Location button to turn off without going through menus. I HATE my location being turned on without my permission!
Never made so many spelling mistakes and i didn't change the keyboard. Auto gaps have gone in texting too. Keys and screen are far less responsive. Pre emptive text not preempting as well either. Don't like the S7.
How it works for selfie, is photos good?
Very good photos! :)
