I have a crack in the outer plastic door, from the dogs ball hitting it. No damage to the internal glass door. Is it still safe to use please?

Does this microwave have a child lock feature??

I've tried holding "0" and then pressed "2" but this doesn't work...

Hey Mark, thanks for letting us know about this. I would suggest calling Samsung and getting their level 2 techs to assist you. Usually what you have done, should work but if it isn't then there may be other factors to it.

My one is a year now and it’s stopped heating. I checked power, wires everything all good. What is the reason for not heating??

I just had a brand new ME6144W model delivered today and upon first use tonight, it was making a plastic / chemical type smell which I ignorwd as assumed it to be 'new smell' but then wheb I took the food out after 2 minutes, it was barely warm, so put it back in for another 2 and heard a pop noise. When it stopped, the food was not at all heated but the top of the microwave was radiating some heat. I then put the food back in and pressed the 2 button and it completely died, with no display. I felt the top and it was very hot and a super strong chemical / burning plastic smell so I unplugged it and pulled it out into the wide open to cool. Is this a problem with the magnetron? It's brand new... what in the world has caused it? The distributor is going to collect it and replace me with another but said Samsung only batch test these days; they don't test the individual items. Is this right? I'm now worried about this model. Hoping you can help me. Thank you kindly :) Lara

I have seen multiple questions about the light in this microwave but no real answer other than the door is tinted, ours has no light at all wether the door is open or closed.... it’s only a few months old, is there a quick and easy way to rectify this?

Samsung

Hey Simon, this model (ME6144ST/XSA) does have a Light located internally. If you experiencing issues with your product, I would recommend booking your device in for an assessment at an authorised service centre, you can follow the link below to locate your local service centre.

just purchased this product from Harvey Norman. I wonder if it is faulty as it doesn't appear to heat food very well. According to instructions for a lite n easy frozen meal bowl, I would need to heat it full power for 4 mn. I have to microwave it an extra 1mn and a half as it is still frozen in the middle after 4 minutes

juliedalla
juliedalla

Lite n easy has heating times on their lids, if it says 7 mins then it's 7 mins. My lite n easy meals heat exactly when I do the times given. I've not had any problems with any heating by this microwave. Try something else, if it's still cold or frozen, then maybe you do have a fault.

Hey there, the times listed in the manual are a general guide but it is best to follow any cooking instructions listed on the food packaging itself. Actually cooking times may vary depending on multiple factors but if you do continue to experience issues with your microwave, can you send a private message with your details?

You can do so through Product Review’s private message system but our best point of contact is to send us a PM on Facebook with a copy of this review and some more information.

Should this microwave have a light on while food is cooking?? We just got ours yesterday and realised we could not see in when it was cooking.

Light should be on but the door tint & mesh blocks it and you can barely see inside

Where are the vents on this model? It would fit snugly in my microwave space at 56.5cm side to side with plenty of room at the back and top of the unit. Would that be OK for ventilation?

Hi Jess, we have provided a link below to the User Manual to guide you on installing your microwave oven and the ventilation space that is recommended.

Hi Muriel, if you are receiving the SE error code, we recommend for you to switch off your microwave. Then unplug and replug it back in. If the error reoccurs we recommend for you to head into your nearest authorised service centre. Ours was just out of warranty when the 5E error started I was able to repair it by removing keypad & heating with hairdryer to remove moisture and smoothing out the keypad while hot to unstick the key. I noticed that there is a bit of foam around the LED display that covers the logic chip, this is a bad design as it will trap moisture and cause errors I repair furnaces & build similar controllers at work so understand how these things work

Please can you tell me how the internal light works?

Rosie

When the oven door is opened and oven is operating the light is on. Unfortunately because the oven door has black glass you cannot see what is inside clearly and therefore accidents such as overboiling happen. Hope that helps.
