After cleaning my Flu and removing the top plate. I found the inner flu is protruding down into the fire box by approx 30mm.This makes it almost impossible to reinstall the topplate. Any suggestions gratefully received [Email Address Removed] Thanks

Hi Sounds like its collapsed and the inner flue will need replacing. It could get quite dangerous if left

Saxon needed some working outHave had our heater for 2 winters now purchased as discontinued from B B Q Galore for $1700 At first the fan was an issue turning off for some 15 minutes when you opened the door. I contacted BBQ G they showed me how to change the jump pins and all is good now open door fan stops close door fan starts no time delay. The most important issue was smoke escaping in the house due to the base pan being so shallow not allowing proper draw up the flue, I remedied this problem by welding a 50mm x 10mm plate vertically across the front leaving a 2mm gap at the bottom to allow air draw not only did it fix the smoke and ash escaping through the door but mad the ash area deeper. I do agree with other reviews design is relatively poor but with these minor adjustments I have it working really well no smoke or ash in the house with good heat. the air controller is mot the best but manages ok. Purchased in May 2020 at Barbeques Galore for $1,700.

Room Type: Whole House MannyG MannyG 1y my jump pin settings are 1-3-5 they are located on the lower right hand side. As for the fan they are noisy we use a small electric fan at the end of the room instead these days it pushes heat through the whole house

Hi new to this and also have the Saxon Blackwood Insert. Just had a cold winter not realizing that the fan was working or NOT, (maybe ? hmmmmm) and have puled the lower cover off and exposed the fan (now what) all looks ok however unless I want to load up a burn, fire and cook in the warmer weather to get the fan to initionally work when it deams itself hot enough to work (or not) how do I/we )others with the same problem) know if it is working or not. Now shoulod I actually find its working how do I/we (others) stop the fan stoip work program everytime we open the door by overriding that thermo switch ????? Any answer will be gratefully received to my email address [Content Removed]

I have a saxon woodheater & if the fan is turned on the fire box or a plate somewhere in the fire box vibrates & makes a horrible noise>?

Abdullah
Abdullah

Hard to say why that is. I would think its a loose screw somewhere not holding tight what its meant to (the walls of firebox or something internal near the fan). Getting to the firebox I assume is a nightmare so start with the heater fan. Unplug from powerpoint, and try to remove bottom plate of wood heater; this should expose some internals and try tighten all screws and look for something hitting the fan. If it's coming from the firebox then all screws would need to be retightened. If i remember correctly, that whole metal structure is held together only by screws.

We had a Saxon Blackwood free standing heater installed and the fan does not work. Either that or it is super quiet. Even with fire completely open and door shut more than 45 minutes

Sasho V.
Sasho V.

The electronics on these is very poor. Id had the same initial problem. There are "earth" wires under the unit where all the wires are, behind the door too. Mine were not earthed properly. I purchased some washers and sand paper and earthed them properly. This fixed the issue. As for the timer, if you can find an electrician who has knowledge about simple circuitry, they can bypass the timer, it's very simple.

I have recently purchased a Saxon Blackwood Insert Wood Heater and finding annoying the delayed fan. It’s hard to tell. Sometimes kicks in, others don’t and the waiting times if opening door to reload wood. I wish I could have the choice when I need the fan going. Is it possible to disengage the thermostat or the part that controls the delay??? Many Thanks

We have a saxon wood heater but the fan dosnt turn off at all even when the door is open unless you put it to off mode. Does this mean its defective we are in a rental so want to know before we contact them

Abdullah
Abdullah

It sounds like the “auto-off” was bypassed, which is why you need to turn it to “off” mode. Many, many people do this bypass, it’s a lot better as you can turn on or off the fan at will. Whereas auto mode is very annoying and the fan doesn’t come on when you want it to.

It’s not necessarily defective, it’s just had the auto mode disabled according to your description. I would leave it as is, and enjoy being able to turn the fan on or off whenever you want.

Ken G.
Ken G.

I wish I could use my fan as I want. The auto feature is ridiculous. It wastes so much time when you first light the fire. The room would be warmed much quicker with manual control.
