Smeg SA34MX Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPNs: 666288, 8477 and SA34MXIs it possible to adjust the brightness of the led display on the smeg sa34mx microwave oven
Helen says it is easy to teplace the light bulb. Please Helen tell me how you get access to the bulb to replace it
How do you replace the light. I can't see any screws to release the cover to the light space
I have a SMEG SA34MX which fills with condensation every time I use it, sometimes there is enough condensation to create a pool of water under the rotating glass plate. What is the issue and what is the solution?
Personally, I have found that if the item has been over cooked this can cause the condensation to occur, if I have a microwave meal and it states 2 - 3 minutes I will check at 2 minutes if I can see a lot of condensation, I will stop the microwave and find that the item is well cooked. After each use, please wipe dry any leftover condensation. If you are defrosting food in the microwave, please use a cup of water alongside of the item to reduce condensation.
Yes, the microwave does draw a lot of condensation, but it doesn’t really make any difference to it’s cooking ability and dries out quickly
I've never seen condensation like it in any other Microwave I've had - Panasonic, Sharp Carousel and LG.
The light is flickering in my SMEG SA34MX microwave. Can I replace the globe myself? Is it easy to do? Where can I purchase it from? Thanks
Yes you can replace easy enough but you have to order a special globe VIA smegs on sales person in the Phillipines, the baby was crying while I was trying to order the globe, smeg not as professional as they make out
That’s ok I don’t mind as long as I can get It replaced and do it myself. Thank you ☺️
Can this microwave be used as convection only? My last convection microwave I could cook cakes on convection only. No microwave section involved. Regards Lyn Bruce
Hi Lynette, This model is a microwave with a grill function and no convection. Regards Smeg
It has a grill function only, however it is virtually useless and barely capable of grilled cheese, read the multiple bad reviews about this microwave prior to purchase and seriously consider other brands, we will never purchase another Smeg product based on this trash.
The light is flickering in my SMEG SA34MX microwave. Can I replace the globe myself? Is it easy to do? Thanks. Mick.
SMEG SERVICE TOLD ME I HAD TO HAVE A SPECIAL GLOBE AND TO CONTACT TEMPO. VERY DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND THE LADY BUT GOT THERE ABOUT $25.00. YES DID FINALLY GET GLOBE IN.
Sorry, no experience with flickering light or replacing globe
Thanks Helen.
The microwave definitely creates condensation every time I use it. Also now the clock/timer display only shows part of the second last figure etc. 18.50 the lower part of the 5 does not show. It is a fixed microwave above the oven.
I am dissappointed to say the least if it is normal for the glass turntable to be that hot where it can literally burn and blister a knuckle on finger while removing steamed rice from oven. The top of microwave was also hot enough to keep food warm? The condensation buildup in entire oven is too much and not just on door as stated in manual. I see this is an issue with others as well. Do I have a faulty oven?
Hi Vicki. I believe we have already answered your review on this on your other post and that you have emailed us your details.Kind Regards Smeg Australia.
Jenefer Is it normal to have a build-up of condensation inside the door?
Interesting observation, I have also noticed the same. Usually just give it a wipe around with a kitchen towel to remove the condensation, however, should there not be an extraction system one may ask. Maybe Smeg can respond ? Despite this unit still working fine on a daily basis.

I have bought this microwave brand new and it will not heat - does not work. It won't even defrost.
would first of all contact the seller for a replacement/refund or, as Nothappy8923 did, contact SMEG direct at steve.cullen@smeg.com.au.
I only have a cabinet to house the microwave...should I return it?
Dear Nothappt8923, I am not sure what you mean, can you please email me at steve.cullen@smeg.com.au with what the problem is and I will see how we can assist regards Steve Cullen
