VerifiedHi, My Smeg SA45MCX2 microwave stopped working last night. Slight electronic burnt smell when trying to start microwave. Display still working. Has anyone experienced this, and is it going to cost a fortune to fix. I'm located in South Australia. Thanks

I cannot open the door in new installed and connected microwave oven SA45MX2. Any suggestions?
Hi Marek, thank you for your enquiry. Would it be possible that you have accidentally pressed the child lock function? Do you have an instruction booklet? Hi the function control knob has fallen off our oven and the rod supporting the knob has fallen internally. Is there a way to remove the display panel and retrieve the rod so that the knob can be fixed? Thanks.
Hi Barry you will need a technician to replace the switch please call Smeg service on 02 8667 4833 and arrange a service call.

I'm considering buying this product, but I came across these two issues. did either Michael2323 or Rebekahs get any satisfaction? i get things go wrong, but if they stayed wrong, or if the Smeg official never responded, then it's obviously a deal-breaker for me.
If Michael or Rebekah do not respond, could a Smeg official please address this? Obviously you are monitoring these review sites.

Nope, Smeg never did get back to me - not through this forum nor through me using their direct email address. Absolutely hopeless and useless, is my conclusion!

Hi, our new applicance microwave function stopped working and then the machine stopped working altogether, even tripping the switch.
Your technican came last week after waiting 3 weeks, replaced the electronics and everything was working ok.
Now a few days on the microwave function has stopped again.
This applicance was purchased in feb 2015, installed april 2015 by qualified electrician... Under consumer law, am i entitled to get this replaced as i should not have to go through this as its NEW?
