Stihl BG 56 Questions & Answers
Verifiedhow heavy is it? can an average sized woman do 30 minutes with it ok?
I don't know the official weight but as you carry it with your arm extended down, there really is minimal weight. I haven't run mine for 30mins but I do 10min blows and it is not an issue at all. If you are a bit concerned, pop down to your local agent and have a feel of it, they are really a good unit, and highly recommend it based on my experience with it.
how much it cost to be delivered in eastlakes sydney 2018
Unusual situation. The blower has worked well for 12 years. Today , for an unknown reason the blower shaft literally blew off. Trying to reattach it did not work, unless I held it in place. Any explanations or suggestions? Thanks
Hi Take it to your nearest Stihl dealer, Im sure they will reinsert it for no charge.
Approximate price
$400AU
how do you atatch vacuum,please
Hi Andrew you need a flat screwdriver, turn the sthil on it's side white air intake upwards. Locate the slot that you can insert the screw driver to release the cover. Pull cover back and look for the imprinted arrows on the side of the intake and the large tube which will suck up the leaves, line them up and twist the sleeve to lock the two together. Repeat the same for the bag collector. There might be a video on youtube?
Hi, my husband wants a blower vac for xmas this brand. We dont have a big yard. He did say petrol but not sure we need ut nor want to.spend that much. Do u have any suggestions on which blower vac to buy and cost
If you only have a small yard I would look at a rechargeable battery vac from Bunnings. They guarantee their products as well
Thank you for your honesty, my husband still likes ur brand. I think I will purchase the battery one from you. $179. Are your products guaranteed
How much does one cost in store?
My bg56c blower is always great and reliable until last weekend I was blowing off me deck and some of the leaves on the yard and it started to bog down. Restarted and ran it for a few minutes and it bogged down again. Plenty of gas so I emptied the gas inside and replaced filter. Ran great for 2 minutes then same thing. Any suggestions?
Probably the same issue I had. To do with the electrics and cost almost as much as a new blower to fix. Decarbonating the exhaust as one dealer suggested was useless
I recently purchased the shredding blade for the BG56 blower vac , but the nut where it supposed to go is impossible to undo . Am I doing something wrong ? The unit itself is excellent but I really want to try the vac on the unit
Hi,i would contact your Stihl dealer but my guess would be that it is a left hand thread.
Hi, it could be a reverse thread on the nut. Try doing it the opposite way you normally do. That is try doing it up to take it off.
Hi , thanx for your help , will give that a go and let yous know how I go . Much appreciated
what parts do need to check on a bg 56 stihl 2 mix carburetor? motor does not rev up speed.
Hi Richard, unfortunately I am not a small engine mechanic. A mower shop would be the place to ask.
Good luck
Martin
there are 3 screws on the carby, one is for low revs, the one beside it is for high revs and the third tunes the idle. There are some very useful youtube videos that go through the tuning process as does the still manual (albeit less extensive). It's really worth knowing this stuff as it's often useful enough to save you a trip to the workshop and simple enough to understand. Happy tuning!
What about using it as a vacuum? I have a 4 stroke Makita and it works ok as a blower but absolutely terrible as a vacuum.
Want to kno how good is the Stihl unit as a vacuum?
Hi Mark, I only used it a few times as a vac but it worked OK. I used it to vac up leaves and it did the job well.
Can't comment more than that but it was without any notable drama.
Thanks
Martin
