My weed eater was running fine before I took some gas oil mix that most likely wasn't mixed right bc I use it in a different weed eater. Now it cranks iintill u turn the troddle off then it dies and white smoke came out. So now I drained the gas out and need to know should I do anything else to it before I put new gas and oil in there the correct way
no fresh petrol and oil should get it going, check the spark plug if it looks wet, with the plug out pull the engine over for about 20 pulls then put the plug back in, if it wont start then try a puff of engine start, If you can get it to start and run full throttle for a minute or so and that will purge the engine John

First of all I'd like to thank you still for all your products I can't say nothing bad about them,my weed eater I run everyday, but here this summer I feel like it's lost some of his power what can I do to gain the power back?
There is a little wire mesh screen on the muffler, this gets choked with carbon it is easy to remove and clean, you can just throw it away but then you are breaking emission laws. Good Luck John

The FS90 is a great machine, it’s had lots of use and now it’s almost worn out. It has very little compression and will not idle. So I think it’s time for some new parts. I think that a new set of rings will be a start. What else is essential for a rebuild and where do you suggest I purchase the parts from please?
Whilst brushcutting I heard a loud click, the brushcutter stopped and I can't re-start (the pull cord now only extends abt 15cms then stops). What's wrong? Worried it's a seized motor. Can it be fixed?
at a guess I would say the cord has twisted under it self, you will need to separate the pull start from the machine and rewind it, providing you have been using stihl oil at 50:1 it is unlikely it has seized although stihl recommends 50:1, that is to keep emissions down I use 40:1 STIHL OIL

What is the heaviest duty cord that can be used? I just ran out of an orange colored cord, but have some heavier duty green colored cord available, but I am thinking it might be too thick.
The heaviest cord I have been able to run in my bump feed is 2.7mm, my auto feed head I can only run 2.7mm successfully
How do you replace the fuel filter in the tank? Mine fell off. Hose and filter.

I have an fs90r steel I need to know if it is a 4-stroke engine or a two-stroke?
An fs90r is a 4 stroke but it has no sump and uses 2 stroke oil mix (with Stihl oil a mix of 50 to 1 although some people say 50 to 1 is too lean it's just for emissions and recommend 40 to 1.
It is definitely a 4 stroke engine I have had mine for 10 years or more the only maintenance you need to do other than spark arrestor and air filter is occasionally reset the valve clearance to 10 thousands of an inch cold. Hope this helps Tratty
My spark plug is getting wet n the pull cord lock up, any help?
To fix the pull cord take off the whole pull cord mechanism by unscrewing the 3 torx screws. you might then be able to manipulate the cord out until you get to where the cord has crossed over itself undo that then wind the cord back on. If that doesn't work remove the hair clip and pull the spool out just enough to unwind the cord again till you get where it is crossed over undo that and wind the cord back on giving it an extra turn if you can. The wet plug can be a multitude of things, ie the plug itself, the high speed screw adjustment might need to be turned in, try an 1/8 of a turn at a time but there is a mechanical limit do not force it past that, you might have dirt under you needle and seat causing flooding, but I personally wouldn't recommend you start pulling the carbie apart, maybe just try shaking the trimmer violently, Cheers Tratty
