The high quality of Stroud's contractors was obvious from the standard of their work, general cleanliness of the building site at all times, and the positive attitudes of everyone we encountered when visiting during construction.

We were always kept in the loop and consulted if queries arose, and received regular progress updates. We were delighted that our home was delivered on time as promised and the construction quality is extremely high.

where we found a block of land in a rural area outside of Ballarat that we dreamed of one day building a home and moving into as our first home. As many first home buyers/builders there are naturally many anxieties that can be experienced about what to expect as we often hear so many horror stories about the journey of building a home and all the challenges that can bring up.

We found Stroud Ballarat after looking at a few builders in the area and after initial consultations we made the choice to go with Stroud to build our home.

Now the experience with Stroud Ballarat has been nothing short than amazing. Their communication, engagement, and support throughout the whole process was 2nd to none. They demonstrated their experience, and knowledge in tailoring our home to our specific site and made us feel supported and informed throughout the whole process.

The team at Stroud Ballarat were great at every step of the way. Being off-grid and zoned farming, there were some hoops to jump through for Council and Simon had local contacts for planners, solar technicians, etc who were able to help quickly and efficiently. Meeting with an interior designer to pick finishes was a big help.

We were kept updated throughout the whole build with weekly phone calls and lots of photos. They were very transparent and happy to answer any questions. The build quality is fantastic and we are so happy with our new home.

We've been moved in for about 2 months now, and as always happens, there have been a few small issues that we only noticed once we moved in. The Stroud team responds straight away to get them fixed up.

The end result was more than we expected - fast & efficient we were in our new home 4 months from build start, 8 months after we signed! Given this was our dream home and final time building (we had built 4 times before) we needed to find a builder that cared and didn't just treat us like a number. We especially loved Brad’s walk through updates and photos. The workmanship and build quality was great. It was also nice to hear that all trades that worked for the Stroud team spoke so highly of them, according to our man on the inside. Due to being on site frequently, we did encounter one issue with a tradie potentially smoking inside our home which was brought up with the team and promptly addressed. We never had any further issues which was amazing! Our estimated cost was the same as our final cost, in fact they took off the cost of a mailbox because we ended up purchasing our own. Worst experience of my life – We signed up with Stroud and were assured the build would take 20 weeks start to finish. Then after taking deposit, this extended to 12 months, however were assured we'd be in by Christmas. We weren't. But promised we'd be in by the following Christmas. We weren't. 2 years later, we have a frame that has been exposed to the weather for 12 months and half a roof. They have no follows through with anything promised in the contract. Show details
