Can the gears be replaced in the mix master

Sunbeam

Hi Cathy N, Unfortunately we don't service these machines. THe cost to replace the gears would be too high.

how to put beaters on is there a trick?

Gavin

Put the right one (square shaped) in first, then the left one (curved one).

Hi Sally - Take the beater that has a pointier, curved bottom and has a red coloured band around the top of the beater.Insert this beater into the left hole on the underside of the mixer head, the hole is identified by a red dot beside it. Take the beater with the angular/flat bottom and insert into the remaining hole. Note: Be sure both beaters click firmly in place, you may need to twist the beater slightly to engage it in position prior to pushing it in place.

I'm not sure, you'd have to call Sunbeam. You can have my motor though, then you would just need to find someone to put it together for you unless you are mechanically minded.

My cafe series planetary mixmaster model no MZ9200R will not work. Purchased 5/8/12, will not go at all, problem seems to be the knob. Can you help me please? Email maryloton@iprimus.com.au or 08 9457 1046.

Hi, I don't know anything about Sunbeam mixmasters generally. My nearest Sunbeam Service Provider told me what was wrong with mine, and which part he couldn't get anywhere in Australia. What you need to do is Google the 'Sunbeam Service Providers List' and locate your nearest Service Provider. They will be able to tell you what is wrong with your MZ9200R and hopefully be able to get the parts to fix it. They usually charge something to look at your mixmaster even if they can't fix it for you. Good luck. Rob

Hi, I have a Sunbeam Cafe Series Mixmaster 850W Twin Motor which is probably approx. 5 years old and has not had a lot of wear and tear. Generally I have only used it for making a few pavs and a few sponges. Today I made another pav and the beaters stopped turning/beating after a crunching noise. I have tried to mix somethng else when the motor cooled down but still the beaters will not turn. Please help?

Sunbeam
Sunbeam   DM

Hi there, Thank you for your query. It sounds like the beater gears have developed a fault, it is part of the motor which has a 5 year motor guarantee, what you can do is if you have your proof of purchase receipt we will be able to repair the unit free of charge.

Please go on to our website to see which is the nearest Sunbeam Service Agent within your area - external link

If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to call me on 0800 786 232 and ask for Noah.

Kind regards,

I just love this in Sunbeam's response: "It sounds like the beater gears have developed a fault". The beater gears in this model have a fault alright - but it didn't just "develop". Have a read of the reviews - the fault with the beater gears in this model is designed in from the factory - it's a "feature".

I find it interesting that after many years of a recurrent fault with this model and denial from Sunbeam they appear to have lately been responding to some complaints. Could it be that the reviews on this site are working and Sunbeam's sales are being affected. I sure hope so! I will not consider purchasing a Sunbeam anything ever again after the poor service I received on this junk mixer.

Our Sunbeam Planetary Mixer goes for about four minutes and just gives up the ghost and doesn't go again until it feels like it, which is annoying when making meringue and nougat which is extremely time sensitive. The LED display just keeps flashing. Any help?

What is the difference between mx8900 and mx8500?

Melody83
Melody83

Hi Karen , I notice MX8900 is 850Watt and MX8500 is 500Watt . SO I assume MX8900 suppose to be more powerful ( it has twin motor technology ) . The one that I own is MX8900 , a very bad product :-(

I have never use that anymore , I have bought Kitchen Aid Artisan and really happy with it.

Hope this help .:-)

Karen2888
Karen2888

Thanks Melody83 for the reply. I had mx8900, yes I agree it is an inferior product , sunbeam has replaced it with mx8500 . I was unsure if I was been duped as the mx8500 is less powerful and less expensive to buy.

Sunbeam
Sunbeam   DM

Hi Karen2888, The main difference between the Mixmaster Classic (MX8900) and MX8500 is the number of motors contained within the product. The MX8900 has 2 motors (1 to drive the beaters and 1 to drive the bowl) and the MX8500 has 1 motor. The MX8500 was developed and launched last year with 1 motor to reduce the number of parts in the product to help ensure reliable operation.

All other major specifications such as attachments, motor speeds, bowl sizes are the same. The MX8900 is available in stainless steel and white and the MX8500 is available in stainless steel, white, red or yellow.

The bowl won't turn when the mix master is on. Have I put it together wrong?

Marian32
Marian32

No Sue, the bowl is meant to slot into the bottom of the mixmaster and remain still. Unlike sunbeams earlier models which turned with the beaters. They were a better idea and I wonder if my two sunbeams which were later models burnt out their motors because of that design.

The bowl should turn.

Is the turn table screwed in properly???

Does it make a noise when running???? (Put your ear just above the 'Sunbeam cafe series' logo)

How old is the mixmaster??

Hope it helps :)
