No it doesn't have elements on the top of the oven. You can bake potatoes in it. Best to wrap them up in foil.

Hi Margaret, unfortunately I returned mine within a fortnight as mine sparked. What I may suggest, * if under warranty to contact service team * depending when purchased, notify place of purchase, some dealers will replace Hope this helps and apologies if not. Thanks, I rang their hotline and apparently the dial only goes as far as grill. I don’t know why there is a toast setting if it doesn’t go to it. It took ages to cook and dried out the bread. I will cook a few things and see how it goes.

Hi Cherry, Firstly, is it still under warranty? If so, follow protocol. If not, and I’m not trying to be rude, it will cost more to repair than replace. I returned mine asap, as it had issues and didn’t replace.

Unfortunately, I cannot assist with you inquiry. Mine ceased within the month and never replaced. Sorry for not being able to help, but wanted to keep you updated.

Hi Diane J, The machine has 2 elements in the top (400 watts each) & 2 in the bottom of the machine (300 watts each) the top is more powerful then the lower element. Thanks

you cannot do deep fry, only warm up already frozen fries on the tray supplied, there is no basket\rack supplied, nor is there space to put a basket,

Though small unit, here’s a tip, allow a row of chips to come to room temperature and then place in oven. You may not get the full crunch taste but is a much healthier choice. Place the chips on a sheet of baking paper this allows for no drops through tray.

Hi Bill, they will cook a small pizza, don’t overload though. Unfortunately, I no longer own this item as after a few weeks of use, ours short circuited. Never did replace this model, upgraded to another brand, also paid a lot more. Definitely getting our money’s worth with our upgrade. Unfortunately the Sunbeam Mini Bake is a buyers beware item. It can certainly be good, beet to read reviews if considering as a purchase item. I own other Sunbeam items that are used within the kitchen, no issue. Regards Maria

Hi Bill H, Yes you can. Preheat the compact oven to 210°C. Place wire rack in the bottom shelf in the raised position. Bake pizza, one at a time, for about 15-20minutes or until golden. Thanks

I had a tray from a previous toaster oven so I haven't needed to look for another.

Unfortunately you having a tray from a old one doesn't help me, and yes I've checked my cupboards and nothing else I've got will fit

CONS: 1: BUILD; Oven door has no "stop"on it, and the instructions warn not to let the door drop open as this will distort the doors sealing capability. Has a baking dish/tray that sits on a rack, so one would not be able to grill in the usual manner without getting grease and droppings all over the bottom part of the unit (if the tray was not used) The top rear element seems to glow bright red, the top front dull red, and the bottom two elements get hot but no radiant heat at all (see *2 below) 2: COOKING; I bought one yesterday, and bottom elements get warm but not glowing hot enough to toast. Had a pie in the oven for 25 minutes, (cold but not frozen ) as a test, and it was only just warmed. not hot, so I had to finish it off in my large oven. Tonight I baked a potato ( cut into smallish pieces of about 35mm) for the required time at the suggested setting, cooked, but outside was a brown rubbery leather like disaster. During the last 10 minutes took out the spud, and attempted to grill a lamb cutlet and a rissole, again following settings stated in book, some parts burned black, some parts cooked ok. Edible, but only just, took a LONG time and had to be watched at all times. Last test, a slice of toast - set it up as per instructions for toast and stood and watched as the toast cooked (very slowly) to perfection, alas, only on one side. 3: Elements turn on and off constantly, even when on "grill" setting, giving very uneven cooking.

I will not be wasting any more time on this, as in my experience, having been cooking well for over 60 years, it is not anywhere near up to scratch and it will be returned for a refund. So heartily fed up with buying things that do not work, and then having to go to the trouble and expense of driving back to the store to return them, I have been using Sunbeam appliances for most of my life, but will not be buying anymore .... I at least discovered that my dog enjoys bread toasted on one side.......Zero Stars I am afraid!

I don't know why it's not toasting equally on both sides. Maybe move your toast down one level or maybe your unit is faulty? Condensation is caused when moisture is released when food is heated up, especially in the case of frozen items. You cannot stop that.

You need to ask engineers that question. All I can tell you is it took a lot longer to heat up on even the high settings on temperature knob than my previous model before this one. I had it on really high to heat up a meal that was in fridge ( not the ice freezer ) and after more than 45 minutes it was just barely luke warm. My older model was much better. But none of them lasted very long which was a complete waste of money. As far as condensation, it had smoke coming out of it for quite some time before even putting any food in it and also the following day. Maybe it was a faulty model, but after so many of them having issues and not lasting very long I will not be buying this brand again.

if the cup cake pan fits, sure, but cook on a shorter time and check as it is hotter than regular oven.

No, 26 inch dinner plate won't fit, but 10 inch by 8 and 1/2 inch oven tray will. 25 cm x 22 cm

Absolutely not, my Sunbeam MINI Bake & Grill is 9 inches from back wall to glass door. The dimensions as stated 350 x 406 x 499 above is for BT5350 Pizza Bake & Grill™ 19L. I just measured mine and and the dimensions for inside oven are 275 wide 235 deep and 120 high from top element to bottom rack. The dimensions at sunbeam website (https://www.sunbeam.com.au/Cooking/Compact-Ovens/BT2600-Mini-Bake-and-Grill.aspx) are overall including handle, feet, cord hook at back and dials.

In short the answer to you question is No. I only used mine for cooking toast and reheating food and for that purpose it worked fine but after my second oven died I took it back to Good Guys and they just tossed it into a returns box.

Absolutely, my regular oven uses 10.9 kw and the toaster oven uses 1.4 kw. So about a tenth.

There is a removable slide out tray at the bottom which I guess u could cover with foil to catch any fat....

Hi Jean88, Our larger compact ovens do come with an oven tray which can be used with the wire rack to catch oils and drips. The Mini Bake & Grill currently does not come with this style of tray.
