Suzuki Baleno EW Questions & Answers
VerifiedHas anyone ever noticed a chain like noise on hard acceleration? I have no symptoms of any kind just that noise only just noticed it or is it just the sound of the engine working harder to get up to speed?
2022 Suzuki Baleno (AUSTRALIA). Has anyone removed the infotainment unit to add subwoofers. If so, can you provide pics showing best way to remove from dash. Thanks
Has anybody else had issues with the clutch on their Baleno car? I had only done 48000 when the original clutch failed. I had bought the car new.
Yes mine went at about the same time. Gear box rod fell apart when they changed it. Was told no clutch and would have to wait weeks. Had to get it fixed privately.
How does the Baleno GL with 5-spd manual perform on the highway, what RPM does it spin at 100kph ??? Important as I live in a rural area. Thanks
Hi TheWarden, you pose an interesting question. We have just taken delivery of a (dealer demo) Suzuki S-Cross Turbo to keep our Suzuki Baleno company. Both have 1.4L engines, the Baleno is lighter than the S-Cross and it has a 4 speed auto, the S-Cross is bigger and because of its 1.4L Turbo petrol engine and 6 speed auto, it has heaps of pulling power (enough to easily tow a medium size tinny). After driving the S-Cross from Grafton NSW to Colac Vic 2 weeks ago, the verdict is in. Both return exactly the same highway fuel consumption (5.2L/100Km). Both are delightful to drive at highway speeds. Both are simple, reliable and easy to live with. But for the rural driver the S-Cross is the "hands down" winner. Cruises at 1700rpm, more interior room and higher ground clearance than the Vitara, best of all its 1.4L Turbo provides effortless hill taming power, making rural driving a pleasure. Hint: a new S-Cross is due in May 22, so you should be able to negotiate a dealer demo for around $25-26K or a used example for under $20K. If this exceeds your budget, I suggest you seek-out a rare 2017 - 2019 Suzuki Baleno Turbo.
anyone know why they dont have the mutil-level floor in Oz version, this is a great feature and makes the cargo area basically flat-folding in UK Balenos
I assume you mean a second level above the boot floor. For me the deep boot is a major Baleno feature that allows class leading space for large suitcases and keeps small items out of sight. Suggestion: replace the space- saver spare wheel with a full size wheel (it fits neatly) and you'll appreciate having it when you shred a tyre 100+km from the nearest town.
How do I remove glove box baleno 2020 model
Does a 2017 baleno have a Cambelt or Timing Chain?
Chain
thinking about buying a baleno gl dose anyone know is the timing a belt or chain and if a chain dose it still have a replace after x amount of kms
Yes it is in the service manual. Cant remember what kms it needs changing but it definately does
Chain engine bulletproof
Can we use Suzuki Baleno 2020 to do UBer?
You can use any car for uber as long as it is roadworthy and and within a certain age.
For a smaller car it’s got pretty good room in the rear seat, so don’t see why you couldn’t use it for Uber
I bought my Suzuki Baleno in January 2020. After one week someone hit me in the back. It went for repair for 3 weeks. When I got it back, 2 weeks later, I went to buy petrol, I couldn't open my petrol cap. Apparently when the wire that connect to cap to the lever on the floor was loose. Life went on. I just find the car is a bit gutless up a hill. I've even put it in overdrive, the car slows down even more. I'm being over taken at the lights and up a hill. Not very happy with the Baleno.
Hi Marie, sorry to hear someone hit you. The petrol cap problem would seem to be a repair issue after the accident. Speak to the repairer. The accident shouldn’t have affected the cars performance, I got my Baleno in November and can’t fault it’s performance, I drive up and down the Blue Mountains daily, so big, long hills. Yes I too get overtaken, but usually by someone doing well over the speed limit. If you feel the car is not performing right, speak with your dealer.
Not sure whether to buy a second hand corolla/i30 with approx 50,000 kms on the clock or a new baleno (budget 17k). I like the baleno fuel economy. Is the baleno robust enough to stand up to a daily commute of 100km per day , in reasonable comfort ? Lack of acceleration does not bother me
Hi , After driving a Toyota before and driving the new Baleno. Suzuki will not be as smooth as a Toyota but it certainly makes up for it in value and features. Servicing was fixed price from. Peter Warren Suzuki and my wife absolutely loves the car. More spacious then a corolla. Better value everyday. But new song but second hand problems you don’t know how the previous driver treated their car.
Thanks for the feedback Glen, I saw your earlier review too, very helpful, cheers Rod
I only test drove the Baleno, it seems to be a decent car, can handle the commute, Petrol tank is a bit small , so I find myself filling up more often than not. I think its about 30 litres. it feels kind of like a city car, but is comfortable enough. I was actually surprised how nice and spacious it was. It does come down to personal preference, and I liked the 5 year warranty it comes with. Peace of mind is always important.
Thanks for the information, I really appreciate other people’s opinions, particularly when you are looking at a car that does not appear to be selling that well, but appears to have genuine merit
Hey Rod, I’ve had my Baleno since November and can’t fault it. It’s compact outside, yet roomy inside, I commute Blue Mountains to Penrith daily and it’s engine is willing and responsive up the hills. It’s economical, I’m averaging Just under the specified 5.4 litres per 100km in the GLX auto. I’d recommend you take one for a test drive. I can’t understand why they are not selling more, although in saying that, I am starting to see a few more on the road.
Thx LDB I am going to be commuting a lot more in my next job and real world experience like yours is most helpful. Petrol is getting expensive and the Baleno real world economy sounds good. Despite the modest engine it is interesting to hear that the performance is adequate on hills and that is all I am looking for anyway Cheers Rod
I have a Baleno...40000km...more problems.First the oil control valve...now its having other real issues and i will take to Suzuki when back from work.is that enough to make me trade and not buy another Suzuki...yes.They are cheap for a reason. You get what you pay(or don't) for.
I am sorry to hear you have had so much trouble with your Baleno Rusty. Given that we are now in such uncertain times I have decided to scrap the idea of getting a second car (my trusty 20 year old Maxima had to be scrapped due to auto tranny dying) and sharing my wife’s car. When things improve I will heed your advice and not get a Baleno.
Gutsy, fuel efficient, plenty of space. Get the manual not the auto. Lots of power up hills, never had a problem.
Great thanks Cheryl glad you are happy with the car !
Well life is very strange. After doing a long commute by train for the last 12 months and spending three and a half hours commuting per day I am visiting the Suzuki dealer this weekend. Why Suzuki ? Well my son just got a job at the local dealer and I want to buy a car from him. It will be a baleno or if the budget can stretch a vitara we shall see.....
Does it have timing belt or chain?
Hi Diep T, I’m not a mechanic so don’t feel qualified to answer your question, though no doubt the cars have some sort of timing mechanism. Maybe ask a mechanic or a Suzuki dealer?
Hi Diep, I contacted the service department from Suzuki (Blood Suzuki in Geelong) where I purchased the vehicle and they said..... it has a chain and indicated it didn’t need to be serviced. I hope it helps answer your question. I a not a mechanic and don’t know the complete in’s and outs of the engine.
If you look in the service book the chain needs to be done at a certain mileage.
I have recently bought a 2019 Suzuki Baleno, GL, auto. It is going for it's 1,000 km service on Monday. I had to have sensors cleaned in the engine/transmission within 2 days of buying, it is extremely hard to get into reverse from park grinding & jerking badly as it goes into reverse, it does this 3-5 times before it will go into reverse smoothly, it goes up & down the gears while maintaining constant speed like it doesn't know what gear it wants to be in. the Speedo is out by 5 k's. The brakes rub badly when slowing up to come to a stop & when slowly creeping into a park etc. I'm extremely disappointed with this car & feel I should ask for a full refund. Should the dealer refund my money? ( I paid in full, no finance)
my brakes does that too. like a screeching noise which i think its from the drum brakes at the rear. one month old too and its kinda annoying
Anyone have a GL with manual trans? Just curious how it performs at hwy speeds ie how many rpm at 100kph. Thanks
Not sure about RPM but mine is fantastic highway driving and very economical. Speed and performance is not an issue
Take the back muffler off.. it goes like a shower of shxt
Can’t connect iPhone using USB port. Sometimes it works straight away, most often it doesn’t even register at all, so cant even charge my phone whilst driving. I mentioned it at the last service and they said they updated the system but it hasn’t really helped. Just don’t understand why sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Bizarre. Anyone else had this problem?
Contact your Suzuki dealer, they can fix it if it’s still under warranty
How do i fix front driver's seat -started to creak when I move in it. Seat back noise is near air bag. Was fine until car came back from its second service. Very annoying spoiling a great car. Is this a warranty issue as car only just over 2 years old? Baleno 1 litre sz4 boosterjet. 2017 model UK.
You yourself do nothing. It is a warranty issue.to me anyway. Can't say any car i have owned has done this..My wife's car doing the same.i will politely take up with them at second service.
