Suzuki Swift experience – Bought the car in 2022, with 100k km mileage at that time. It is now with 140k km in Apr 2026. Real life fuel efficiency on highway is 4.7 L/100km, mixed efficiency to be 6.3L/100km. Great car for small family and city driving. No major issue, regular oil/filter change. Major service in 2024 to replace brake, battery and spark plugs. Very happy with the car and I hope to drive it for another 10 years. Show details

Great – My 2015 Suzuki Swift is great with excellent fuel efficiency (around $70 to fill up), making it a cost-effective choice for daily commuting. Its nimble maneuverability allows for easy navigation through tight spaces, but its low height raises concerns about scraping on uneven surfaces, particularly in the country side where I live. While it excels… Read more

in practicality and fuel savings, cautious driving is essential to avoid potential ground clearance issues. It has no issues, however it hasn’t been driven a lot. Brakes work really well.

Poor customer service Suzuki Australia – My mother purchased a Suzuki Swift In July 2013.The vehicle has been serviced for the entirety at Ballarat Suzuki Approximately 1 week ago she drove the vehicle and realised something wasn't right with the steering and drove it straight to the dealership. 2 days later she was informed that the steering column was gone and would need replacing at… Read more

a cost if $3000. The car may be 9 years old but has only travelled 32000km and this should not occur. The customer service she has received from Suzuki Australia is well below average Luckily for her and other road users that this did not occur while travelling at speed as it could of ended in one or several fatalities. To be told there is nothing they can do to honour the fault is appalling. As a pensioner $3000 is alot of money but it's also the inconvience of not having a car for a minimum of approximately 8 weeks. All she can do is now spread the word of the poor product and customer service from Suzuki Australia. This review does not even warrant 1 star. Poor service Suzuki Australia!!

Swift runs well and is very reliable. Great but for a few tiny annoying Suzuki things – Second owner of this 2015 Swift GLX since early this year. Car had around 38000km and it is now at 45,000. Compared to my old Kia, this car is very fuel efficient and built better even though it is much smaller. Great for everyday use. No serious mechanical trouble. Battery died with no warning. A few other things have annoyed me as well. The… Read more

inbuilt Garmin GPS sucks. I just paid $125 for an updated map. They don't tell you the map has not been updated since 2018. What a waste of money. Suzuki, fight for a better deal for your customers. You can't really turn the radio off. It just comes on automatically and you have to turn the volume down. Took the car in for servicing at Suzuki centre. Cost was $286. But the centre claimed the car needs its engine cleaned at $260 extra and something to do with the AC cleaned as well for another $200. At 45,000km? I turned these down. Not sure I will keep taking my car there. This is not just a Suzuki thing but I hate the keyless start. Battery in remote died and was so expensive to get someone out. For a small cheap car, keyless is not needed and just causes problems. Replacement key fob is over $500. Cup holder size is too small. All my drink bottles won't fit. Overall, for a good reliable every day city car, it is great. But it is not cheap to service and there are a few annoying little things.

Great little car, built to a price – Built in 2012. Plated and registered in Jan 2013 and May 2013 respectively. GLX Auto bought as a demonstrator late 2013 with 1500ks on the clock for $17K when rrp was close to 22K+ on roads. Only issue under warranty was a dodgy fuel filler release, fixed at first service. 1.4 auto is a bit gutless, but comfortable in traffic and good for the… Read more

10-15k a year I do in Sydney traffic averaging 30km/h. 6 month/10K service interval is a pain, fixed prices of $189, and $289 for major, and thankfully they’ve changed this recently on the newer model. Standard warranty was 3 years with an extended 2 year Suzuki thrown in if you serviced with dealer. Now over 70Ks with a set of tyres a battery, belts and normal services the only inputs. Although built in Japan it is built to a price. As an example chrome around the start Push button started peeling off 2 Month out of its 5 year extended warranty Overall happy with our purchase and we bought a newer 2018 turbo GLX version as well recently.

One of the rare made in Japan cars available today - Great Quality made car - an economical No probl – My Pearl white Suzuki SWIFT GLX Navigator 1.4 litre Automatic has been problem free so far. 70,000 klms has been travelled with many long trips to the North Coast of NSW , Sydney and Newcastle from the Upper Hunter Valley. servicing. I would recommend this small car [although Suzuki does make a smaller car] to anyone. They are very easy to drive , very economical on E10 petrol... and they have one of the best reputations in the car world... My Car is used virtually every day to drive to the shops etc... I have also fitted seat covers made from wet suit material , and a CARBRA to stop any stone chips , and stop any bugs from getting into the radiator and protect the headlamp lenses , fog lamps & daylight running lights too.. it also has a good sized touch screen with phone messages, GPS maps etc, CD Player & Radio along with a USB Port to play Your Music... along with a built in person who asks you questions etc... of what you want to do.. Did I mention excellent gas mileage anywhere from 4.4l per 100 klms depending on how You drive....The original headlamps were good, but they are much better when they are replaced with OSRAM XENON Plus 75% bulbs or maybe plus 100% , now they are really bright. The GLX Swift has adjustable steering wheel that goes up & down plus in & out . Drivers seat goes Up also.. It also has 7 AIRBAGS... VERY SAFE ... ANCAP rating 5 out of 5... all true... Lee

I love my little car – I love my little Swift. We have the Sport edition and it is just so much fun! It reminds me of my youth spent in hot hatches! My husband uses it to commute to work 30km up a winding mountain road and loves the performance. We have the bright yellow one and it makes me smile everyday. Amazing!! Everything original – I have a 2012 FZ Suzuki Swift manual. Bought the manual as the auto was gutless - wouldn't even consider it. I'm coming up to 300,000km today and everything is original. I drive 110km everyday and it hasn't missed a beat. Clutch is original. I changed the brakes maybe 40,000km ago, but they really didn't need it. Nothing else has needed to be… Read more

replaced except for battery, which is a consumable. I do have an on-going issue that I manage that started at around 250,000km - it will go into limp mode but you can reset this by cycling the ignition. It usually happens once a month when I drive over a big bump and the engine and stability control light will come on.

really REALLY bad experience – I bought a brand new Suzuki Swift in 2016. At my most recent 2 year service at the Suzuki Chullora NSW dealership, the mechanic did not tighten the sump engine plug properly, all my oil leaked out and the engine completely siezed. I now need a full engine replacement. The dealership admitted full responsibity admitting that a "step in our process… Read more

was not followed correctly". I was first told a new engine would be provided. Before then being told I am only being offered a 2014 engine from a car that was written off due to damage from a collision. I responded to Suzuki Chullora management that this is not good enough as I bought a brand new car with a brand new 2016 engine that was never in an accident and has not had any mechanical issues which is now suggested to be replaced with an engine that potentially has issues (all to save the dealership some money for what is their own error). When i called Suzuki Australia about this they told me they could not do anything for me and would not help me with this. Suzuki Chullora is refusing to negotiate and will not budge from this offer. I really don't think this is how a company should treat a customer when it was entirely their dealership error. Seriously consider this story if considering buying a car or getting it serviced at Suzuki dealership...especially the one in Chullora NSW...

Good car – I find it is a good car but misses out on a few things that would make it even better. Such as, Bluetooth, Aux point, cruise control etc. It is cheap on fuel to run. But doesn't take off as quick as i would like. Tends to need a good acceleration to even take off  Show details

Zippy little machine – The Swift is driven several times daily around the suburbs for commuting to work, shopping and taking the dogs out. It had low kilometres at the time of purchase. runs well on normal ULP91 and very economical in any traffic. So far I have had one flat tyre and it was easy to replace it using the spare tyre. It is very easy to park, the factory sound system has AM FM radio with CD player and USB port for music. There's a port for charging my mobile phone. After snapping off the side mirror at a shopping mall I found that second hand parts are so easy to source as wreckers strip a lot of this model.

A small car oozing with personality – Great looks, Engine has superbly linear power delivery while being both refined and economical, Wonderful exhaust note, nippy handling. Only complaint is a firm ride over the harshest of roads. Also, great visibility due to the upright windscreen which for me was a v. important feature in comparison to the Mazda 2 and hondas. Feels solidly built and should be reliable according to surveys in UK .  Show details

I honestly love my car it is so reliable and nice – The driving performance is fantastic, it is the perfect car for a couple or a business person. It’s very small but does the job. The smoothest most relaxing car I’ve get driven. Very reliable and affordable. Worth every penny spent. Not many accessories to make this car unique. Comes with warranty but you wouldn’t need it. Very very very cheap on fuel. I fuel up my car which is like $70 and that can last 1000 kms.  Show details

An almost faultless sporty car hampered by it's CVT gearbox – I liked my first 2005 model Swift so much I traded up to a 2012 Swift Sport CVT five years ago. This is the highest spec Swift on the market. It was one year old, one owner with only 12,000kms on it and it felt, looked and smelt like new. And what a delight to drive. Great handling and cornering, excellent steering feel (it reminded me of… Read more

the feel of a BMW), good performance and brilliant economy. Keyless entry and start, amazing projector headlights and extremely comfortable, body hugging sports seats make this car a joy to drive. Yes, the boot is too small and yes, the lack of a spare tyre is ridiculous, but these are small prices to pay for a great combination of performance versus economy, handling versus comfort.

And this is a great looking car too! From the aggressive front "fins" to the interior's red accenting in an otherwise mature black cabin, the Sport rises above the competition. But there's one issue, and it's the CVT gearbox.

Constant Velocity Transmissions (CVT's) are intended to give economy from an "automatic" gearbox that rivals or betters a manual, whilst still maintaining performance. However, CVT's are relatively rare and can be expensive to repair. Their long-term reliability is debatable and with less than 80,000kms now on my car , I have discovered how expensive they can be. I recently spent over $3,000 repairing the CVT due to a mechanical fault. This experience has marred what is otherwise a delightful, reliable car.

My advice is buy the manual. The CVT may be expensive to repair on the long term, with parts hard to get and necessary CVT mechanical experience not common.
