We had to get a credit for ours as we hated it. It wouldn't keep it's heat.

is it just the little timer? maybe it needs a new battery. i don't use that timer, you can just take it out....

I wouldn't. I tried and it does... kind of.. but it heats up then cuts out when it reaches temp.. so if you have something that does not have much liquid it may burn to the bottom. It will cook slowly but not evenly like a crock pot does. Does that make sense?

I use mine almost everyday like you would use an electric fry pan. This is its most useful function. I do use it as a deep fryer also. I then drain oil off when I'm done. I do slow cook in it but not like how I would in a crock. I would not want to leave the house while it's on. It needs watching. It turns itself off an on like an electric fry pan does with its thermostat. If you are familiar with that style of cooking you'll find it useful. I really like mine. It's great for cooking small roast Potatoe chunks which my family likes best.. The potato doesn't stick like it does in a stainless steel pan. Have fun cooking :-)
