I only take St John's once or twice per week. However last week I took the morning after pill only a day after taking St John's. Could this affect things?

I take lithium and Zyprexa will the 'Mood Support'interfere with these medication or help me? I remember taking 'Mood Manager' in 2007 and felt sooo good. I was only only 2.5mg of Zyprexa then. It is more for my hormones I want to take it for and my periods and overall nutrition for my brain, it used to have Fish oil in it.

Why did Thompsom change the ingredient in The Mood Manager tablets

Lisa

From what I understand they found it difficult to find SAMe that was stable.

Deb

You can buy it in America. What if they broke the product down into two parts separating the SamE to be then taken with the remaining ingredients to make up the original product

Is Thompsons mood manager available out of Australia. Mood Support contains St Johns Wort so is not suitable

Zeff I
Zeff I

Thompsons mood support is available in Australia, however this product has not worked for me. Thompsons mood manager worked very well for me for many years, iit was replaced with mood support, and is no longer available. I am not aware if it is available beyond Australia. You'll have to do a search. Barbara, I searched the different active ingredients included in Mood Manager now left out of Mood Support and found the use of them was recently restricted due to long term dangers to the body. I was also bummed by the loss of the only product that has worked for me. Good luck Rgds Zeff

Hi Zeff 1, my thoughts exactly....and mood support is not a suitable substitute....different ingredients also contains St Johns wort which can interact negatively with other medications.I found Mood Manager excellent. I have found another supplement with the same ingredients so heres hoping it works as well. Rgds Barbara V.

Does anyone know if I stop my antidepressants can I start taking Mood Managers straight away?

rick

Big question Depends on what rype of meds you are on, tje strength of dose and how long you have been on antidepressant s. My general experienc suggests you speak to a GP who knows your circumstance about your current meds but well qualified naturpath or similar about mood manager. In short ,yes, probably, with caution and consultation.

Does anyone know if this product can help with severe depression? I can't take antidepressants but need something. Also, how does it compare to St Johns Wort?

Hi. I have taken antidepressants and read up some on samE the major ingredient in Mood Manager. My son takes and appreciates the positive effect on his well being and ability to perform in life generally. I am NOT any authority on this and what I offer is my personal layman's opinion. I could imagine it could/would assist but cannot be taken with other antidepressant pharmaceuticals. I suggest you doing some reading, join a forum, see a well experienced Naturpath (Sp?) or similar and of course a broadminded GP. I would like to say go for it but in view that you note "severe" depression, me thinks you need professional assistance and the reason you cannot take antidepressants is not clear. GOOD FORTUNE. My rule to myself on this subject broadly is :Keep Good Company! :)

No, unfortunately mood manager does assist with severe depression. My son's pschologist started him on mood manager along with therapy to see if it could help, but it had minimal effect. He had to be then prescribed a stronger pharmaceutical antidepressant medication which made such a positive difference in his life. However everyone is different. Best wishes.

can you take mood manager if you are pregnant?

Nola
Nola

There is no mention on the label against using Mood Manager if you are pregnant. It only states that people using prescription anti-depressants or have bi-polar should refrain from it's usage. MM is a natural product and containing basically vitamins, fish oil and Sam-E. You never know, you might end up with a really cheerful baby!

Has anybody had success using this product for anxiety?

I have social anxiety disorder, meaning I get very nervous and blush in social situations or talking to members of the opposite sex.

I'd like to exhaust all options before taking standard pharmaceutical anti-depressants....

Thanks kindly.

I think you should give it a try. It gave me a sense of well being, like everything feels fine. Maybe it will help you plus it is better to try this before going onto prescription meds. I dont think it is useful for acute anxiety... i used different medication as the acute incidents occured, this is more for long term feeling of calm. If you dont notice any differences after a couple of weeks then go onto your anxiety meds. Good luck.

Does anybody know why these are being discontinued if they seem to be so effective? Thinking of getting some to help with my insomnia but have read on other blogs that SAM-e can have some nasty side effects.

I have just started taking Thompson's Mood Manager, 1 a day in the morning along with B Stress Free (Goodhealth), only two days now but I am feeling worse. Is this normal? Apparently I will benefit after 1-2 weeks but the way I'm feeling now not sure if I should carry on? Thanks for any help/advice.

Nola

I started out on 2 a high dose of 2 morning and 2 night, felt great within 3 days, i now take 1 morning & night and probably will forever. I wonder if you are taking anything else that might conflict with this? Its not good to be on anti depressants at the same time.

JuJu

Many thanks for your reply to my question Nola. No I'm not taking anything else and feeling a wee bit better today so will carry on with them!
