I test drove one recently and it was obvious that the front wheel was resisting tracking straight ahead. It hunted from side to side even at medium speeds and I don't get that at all with my current cruiser. i.e.: It falls of centre. now I am wondering what would cause that. It has only done 3000 km and has new rubber. Was it the cool tyres (I only ride it for 10 minutes) or wrong pressure (in the front tyre) or an issue with the forks .. ???? please could someone advise, as I am nervous to proceed to purchase without sorting it out as I don't want to be correcting all the time when riding on a straight road.

What would a set of cocktail shaker pipes run for a 2013 Speedmaster? The nearest Triumph dealer is 250miles away so I'd need order for shipment to my home. Thanks

Hi, I have no idea what the cocktail shaker pipes are worth, I personally don't like them, prefer slash cut type ones but each to their own. I would guess they're all around the same, $600 - $700 AUD I would suggest looking on ebay for a start, cheers

I'm 6,3ft and have long arms and legs is the speed master a good fit?

Hi, in my humble opinion I think it would be a bit too small for you. I am just on 6 ft and have ridden my wife's Speedmaster a few times and it's ok, I did about 400kms on it one day and it was fine. I ride a Thunderbird 1600 and it "fits" me great, very comfortable and lots more power. My wife is 5 ft 3' and she is very comfortable on her Speedmaster, maybe just a little stretched but she loves the bike. The only way you'll know for sure is to go and ride one, hope this helps, cheers.....

would this bike take me around Australia ?

The is YES! The 865 motor has been around for many years, is well sorted, and, is very understressed in the America/Speedmaster configuration. Also, it is air cooled, so, it's designed to hold up in high heat (mid summer, vast interior lands) and will start right up & run well in the cold (EFI motors, of course). It has been over-engineered and any quirks of the 790 motor were cleaned up when displacement was increased to 865. The addition of fuel injection has been a bonus- making easier starting, better fuel economy and smoother running. Early FI did have surging & stumbling issues, but- there are very inexpensive 'fixes' for them as well. Once addressed- no concerns~

I too have a 2012 and agree- Too Quiet! I searched YouTube & listened to a wide variety of aftermarket pipes, I decided to purchase a lightly used set of Triumph Off Road Short Pipes (known as: TOR Shorties amongst dealers & owners).for the following reasons: low asking price, deeper sounding at idle, and, they highlight the lumpy sound of the 270 degree firing order. Also, they growl under acceleration, and, at high RPM's they sound like ripping & tearing (at the same time?). But, at steady state RPM's (anywhere from idle to redline) it is moderately quiet, making it very comfortable when riding on backroads or the highway. Much louder than stock, but, not so loud that you are waking the neighbors or babies. The deeper/louder & lumpy sound at idle are perfect- it matchs the power of the bike. Note: would have been happy with British Customs Cocktail Shakers and/or bomber exhausts too! I got an offer I couldn't refuse...
