When I connect the power head to my vax zen cleaner I cant feel any suction on thepower head ,yet there is plenty of suction when the head is removed .Is this the way it works? and is this still doing the job.

My Vax bagless cylinder cleaner is overheating after continuous use for say one hour. All filters are clean. Are there any suggestions as how to fix this problem?

Is the vax bagless you refer to a zen vacuum? Or is it another model? What is the model number?

Hmmm, we have experienced the dreaded overheating problem with VAX too. After being firm about having checked the filers and blockages, it was sent for inspection. Internal blockage had been causing the problem. Blockage unable to be cleared until the machine was pulled apart.

I found this to be a clogged air intake over the motor. its where the top suction tube ends up. I suspect the rubber that seals the motor from the tube lests in ambient dust and hair. just the top needs to come off. 7 screws on the bottom. dont pull out the retractor cable assy. there is a grill across the top of the motor and it becomes covered and the motor overheats.
